acuprulez Posted November 26, 2023 #26 Share Posted November 26, 2023 They will not assign points based on anything other than who is actually on paper supposed to be in the rooms. Guest services only hands out additional keys, they don't change or adjust c&a accruals

toxicfairy Posted November 26, 2023 #28 Share Posted November 26, 2023 You can never get the points for 2 cabins if that's what you were trying for. Even if my husband and I pay for our cabin and put our kids in a nother js or gs we'd still only get points for one cabin not 2.

not-enough-cruising Posted November 26, 2023 #34 Share Posted November 26, 2023 A perfect example of “I don’t like the answer so I am going to continue stomping my feet and make a scene until I get my way”. All the while, not recognizing the facts of shared C&A status, and realizing the whole scenario is moot. 3

Not necessarily a moot point for shared status IF one partner has more actual points than the other. You want the higher (actual) points person to get the most points. Example: Wife has 66 points, husband has 20 actual points. You want the wife booked in the JS for a 7 day cruise.

Also if the spouses currently have the same number of points, they are both better off in the long run if the double points go to the person who is more likely to take cruises without the spouse (solo or with a friend/relative) in the future. Sometimes that needs to be planned when the booking/upgrade is made.

PigsCanFly Posted November 26, 2023 #42 Share Posted November 26, 2023 We are also booked on upcoming cruise with 2 rooms based on free room offers for DW and I. I am in a JS with our Son and DW is booked solo in an inside room nearby. DS and I will fet 2 pts each for the JS and DW will get 2 pts for a solo. DW & DS will get keys for the other rooms and DW & I will share the JS, DS gets the inside (w/virtual balcony and none of my snoring). DS is 30 yrs old, and self sufficient so not an issue of child? left on his own😉

However, we don't know whether OP is booked on an Oasis or Quantum class ship.
LeeW Posted November 26, 2023 #45 Share Posted November 26, 2023 (edited) Sounds like OP has booked a "B2B" with gambler her on one cruise and gambler husband on other. If they are not sailing together she will get points for first cruise and he will get JS points for second cruise. She may think that they both get points from her first cruise and then they again get points for his JS cruise. Doesn't work that way. Would have been easier to book a B2B with both of them, using casino booking for each in turn. If one booking was upgraded to JS, then both would have total points for two cruises, including one in JS. She and son would only get 1 pt/night, but you would get 3 pt per night. She would have less total points but benefit from your increased status [or progress toward status]. JMHO

JMHO Unless the adult son is also interested in accumulating points. He would get single points under your booking system vs double under the status quo.
