kb4683 Posted December 4, 2023 #1 Share Posted December 4, 2023 Sorry to start this, we are currently onboard and I don’t have time to research CC. We have considerable OBC on this cruise thru shareholder, military, AARP, FCD, and a promo when booking. All have been lumped together and guest services are telling us none of it is refundable nor can be used in the casino or for cash. I thought the military and FCD were refundable and possibly the shareholder, too. Thanks for any insight into this.
Sea42 Posted December 4, 2023 #2 Share Posted December 4, 2023 Generally, anything provided by HAL is non-refundable.OBC from a travel agent or that you purchase is refundable. So shareholder, military etc are non refundable.
Cruise Suzy Posted December 4, 2023 #3 Share Posted December 4, 2023 If you look on your TV or Navigator, the Refundable and Non-Refundable balances will be shown at the end of your account statement. What Guest Services is telling you seems correct to me.
CruiserBruce Posted December 4, 2023 #4 Share Posted December 4, 2023 None of those are refundable.
kb4683 Posted December 4, 2023 Author #5 Share Posted December 4, 2023 Thanks for the quick responses! We were both positive we had used SHOBC in the casino during our February cruise .. oh well, guess I will hit the spa 😊
CGinMTL Posted December 7, 2023 #6 Share Posted December 7, 2023 Any OBC left at the end, have them transfer to the crew fund :))
Seasick Sailor Posted December 7, 2023 #7 Share Posted December 7, 2023 We have OBC nonrefundable too, but also refundable, such as our port taxes and fees missing Key West. We paid for an excursion that was CNX and it went to refundable. Our military credit was "given" to us, so I would not expect it to be refundable. Rare Gail & Marty sailing away Posted December 7, 2023 #10 Share Posted December 7, 2023 You could buy Vases for Christmas on the ship and have them shipped home.

Gail/Marty - will the ship pack and mail these home? I never asked them but that would be great since we have some OBC but we have to fly home and that would be a luggage issue. Thanks. 16 hours ago, Gail & Marty sailing away said: You could buy Vases for Christmas on the ship and have them shipped home.

But extra can be given. Our OBC went to crew gratuities last month. We didn't have it included in HIA.

The ship will take your order and charge your Account, if you want it shipped it is shipped out of Miami. Flat rate regardless how much you buy. So... the shipping charges get charged to our onboard account, but the OBC's will pay for part/all of the shipping?

I’ve been looking at the vases online for several years and know they would be perfect gifts, but couldn’t figure out how to get them home. You’ve solved one of my “next HAL cruise” problems!

Based on your advice I did that on a previous cruise and it made a wonderful gift. Dawn has it displayed on her dining room table.
oakridger Posted December 9, 2023 #21 Share Posted December 9, 2023 @Gail & Marty sailing away here's a question with a slight deviation from the info you have given us so far. If I buy flowers that come in one of the cute vases for in cabin use on my cruise would HAL ship a new vase like it to my home if I leave the vase in the cabin when I depart? I hope that makes sense! I'm taking a TA from Ft. Lauderdale to the Netherlands next May but then will be traveling in Norway for another month or two so don't want to drag the vase all over Europe and home. I would like to have one though. Any thoughts? I can just ask onboard if no one here knows. Thanks, ~Nancy
