kabmab Posted March 26 #151 Share Posted March 26 (edited) I am so very sorry to hear about Alf! It's shocking and devastating when a pet passes away suddenly at a young age. We lost our Italian (miniature) greyhound suddenly in 2021, and had to cancel a cruise we had scheduled on the Constellation (also because Covid/Omicron was very active). Alf was lucky to have been loved so much in your parents home. Condolences to all who loved him. Edited March 26 by kabmab
Rare Norwaylady Posted March 26 Author #152 Share Posted March 26 @Lena11033 @hcat @theopup @kabmab ❤️ thank you! it’s never easy when things like this happens❤️ I know he had a great time at my parents 🏡 The Queen is a master of spoiling the “children” aka animals😂🤭❤️ And my father is a “dog” man🐕🦺🐕🦺
Arzeena Posted March 26 #153 Share Posted March 26 2 hours ago, Norwaylady said: I received some really bad news today💔 My parents Gigant Schnauzer Alf passed away today. I was walking him the last 7-days before we left from home❤️ He had a massive epileptic attack😖 He was only 3,5years old🌹 Their old schnauzer past away in early January 2023. And their breeder asked if they would take in an adult schnauzer that they needed to relocate from a home asap. Due to the fact that the original owner had abused the dog and really treated him badly. So the breeder had collected the dog back after a talk with the owner+police. When Alf arrived he was so skinny and really scared. So he was so worried about everything the first time around in my parents house. But he learned that he was treated like a king 👑 and really loved from everyone❤️ So he turned to a very cosy and lovely schnauzer🐕🦺 So this was really sad news for everyone in the family💔 I am so sorry to hear that.
Rare Norwaylady Posted March 26 Author #154 Share Posted March 26 So back to cruising reality⚓️😎🚢 Sea day… how to do as little as possible in the longest time possible😂 After the captain’s club meeting I texted Mr, asked if he wanted some lunch… And I needed to tell him about the news from home💔🌹🐕🦺 We had something to eat in OV. It was British 🇬🇧 food themed today. I was not very hungry, so made myself a little tuna sandwich and melon 🍉 Mr on the other hand…. Was happy for some made to order pasta and a portion of fish & chips🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 The fish & chips looked delicious and the fish was crispy and delicious😋😋😋 It was crowded in the front of OV, but we had no problem to get a table on the terrace. After the lunch, Mr walked downstairs to do some more work. And I had to call the Queen to get more information about what happened today❤️ I found a sun lounger in partly shade and was just enjoying the sunshine and view of the ocean. At 16.15 I was finished in the sun. So I walked downstairs. Today’s canapés: Chefs brilliant skills are really showing off🤭😂😝🙌🏻 I wish they would have more rotation and more creativity🤓 5

StellaGrace Posted March 26 #156 Share Posted March 26 Very sorry to hear about Alf. The loss of a well loved pet definitely tears the heart to shreds. A couple of years back, I lost one of my dogs, my good pal, Gracie, at a too young age to cancer. It happened a couple of months before a long planned Christmas cruise on the Reflection. My adult daughter was set to meet up with me for that cruise. The night before she was to leave for Fort Lauderdale, she lost her beloved childhood dog, Charlie, also to cancer. She & Charlie grew up together and he moved with her to attend grad school. We always joked about how well Charlie's PhD research was going. At least Charlie had lived a long, full well-loved life, but it was still so hard for her to pack her bag to go on what was supposed to be a happy, fun getaway. Needless to say, we were both very emotional the whole cruise. Cheers to Gracie, Charlie & Alf. 2

Rare Jim_Iain Posted March 27 #158 Share Posted March 27 (edited) I've really been busy and has taken me 1/2 hour to get caught up. As usually i'm really enjoying you posts. Sympathy on the loss of your friend. My friendly AI helped write a nice poem for you. In the quiet of twilight, by the hearth's warm glow, A loyal friend departs, leaving pawprints in the snow. His eyes, like galaxies, held secrets and stories, And in his wagging tail, we found boundless glories. Through fields and forests, we roamed side by side, His fur, a soft canvas where memories reside. He chased sunbeams and dreams, his spirit unbridled, And in his playful barks, our hearts were beguiled. But time is a thief, stealing moments away, And now he rests under the old oak's sway. His collar lies empty, a silent testament, To the love we shared, unwavering and fervent. Oh, faithful friend, your absence cuts deep, Yet your spirit lingers, in every dream we keep. May the stars guide you to eternal meadows, Where you'll chase butterflies and find sweet repose. So here's to you, dear dog, our cherished confidante, In the tapestry of our lives, you'll forever enchant. Though tears may fall, know this truth remains: Your pawprints on our hearts will forever remain. Edited March 27 by Jim_Iain

Rare Norwaylady Posted March 27 Author #161 Share Posted March 27 Tonight’s show is Branden & James Cello & singer. Celebrity orchestra is backing. Good show and music 🎵 but not complete sold. Could use a little more polish🙃 After the show, in grand foyer was electric soul holding a pop-up preforming. It was a full house in grand foyer😅 So they must be doing something right😂😊
mauimary Posted March 27 #162 Share Posted March 27 Saddened to hear about your parents dear dog Alf. He had a wonderful home and a new life with his new parents. Glad he got to live out his life where he was welcomed loved and appreciated. We had Brandon and James with us on the transatlantic last April on the Beyond so saw several of their shows. We enjoyed them.

ecslady Posted March 27 #167 Share Posted March 27 So very sorry to hear about your parent's dog Alf. It's always hard to lose a beloved pet, but especially when it's sudden and when they are younger. May he RIP.

Aruba delivered perfect temperatures for my taste😎🤿🪸 We are just back from snorkelling 🤿 and a stroll in town😎 They played a mix of new and old. Potpourri of Bethowen, Elton John, 60/70 classic hits. Unfortunately the cello was very covered up in the orchestra and the piano 🎹. So not bad, it was good. But it was just lacking some “polish” to perfect it.

Rare Norwaylady Posted March 27 Author #174 Share Posted March 27 We went to the sail-in😎🚢🥂 I think the majority was occupied by getting ready for arrival and eating🤭 Good for us😂❤️🤭 Not crowded at all😎 Service of mimosas, champagne and blue drinks💙🩵💚 After docking we went to get ready for our snorkelling trip. I booked this trip using OBC. We left 10.30. We were picked up in port by catamaran. 2 stops today. A reef 🪸 and a ship wreck. Temperature was great today, not to warm and no wind😎😎😎🤿🪸❤️ First stop was the reef. It took around 35.minutes to sail there. Visibility was great but it wasn’t the best experience of my life🐡🐠🐟🪼 Next stop was the ship wreck. It’s perfect for diving and snorkelling🤿 After the snorkelling, free bar was opening onboard. You know those deadly rum punches 🍹🍹🍹 And then it was time to return to port. We arrived in port 15.00. It will upload my GoPro later for pictures.
Rare Norwaylady Posted March 27 Author #175 Share Posted March 27 Since we arrived in port, by our gangway. We took a Clark Kent onboard😜 Showered off some saltwater and changed into dry clothes. Today’s canapés had arrived Mr & I wanted to go for a little walk. No plans of shopping or anything specific (you know that’s not true🤣🤣🤣😜) Someone wanted a local 🍺🍺🍺🍺 So off we went for a stroll. We took the city centre grand tour🙃 Mr found what he was looking for👀🍺 Do you think they used old cruise carpets? 😜 At 17.30 we decided it was time to go back onboard for some coffee and start the evening routine🙌🏻
