It's worth keeping an eye on pricing...

We have an upcoming cruise on an Edge-class ship and we're roughly 60 days out.  I had booked a panoramic oceanview because the infinite veranda was about $1,000 more and I have mixed feelings about the IV anyway.  It wasn't worth a grand to me.

This morning, I noticed a price drop, so I called the travel agent who called Celebrity.  They moved me into an Infinite Veranda for $30 per passenger ($60).  While I still have mixed feelings about IV, it's worth $60 to me to be able to get some fresh air.

Just an FYI to keep an eye on pricing, and they may be able to do something for you even when you are inside of the final payment period.

No doubt about it..

We watch our upcoming cruises and do a test price on them about every week. Our New Years cruise dropped $1500 last week. Made a phone call to Celebrity and, they applied the new price.

It took all of 10 minutes. But, I'm sure the casino is going to get that money right back from me...

My TA quoted me a price this morning on an 10/2024 cruise.  A few hours later when she went to book it the cost went up over $1,300!  I’ll wait and see if it goes down!

She didn’t put a hold on cabin?
our TA will usually put a hold on a cabin and give us a couple days to say yes or no

RCCL was doing that on some of the fares on Icon of the Seas.  I was tracking the cost of an inside cabin on the December 9th sailing and a month ago, it was $2925.  Today, it is about $1700.

Before as long you paying a $1 more to upgrade a cabin it was allowed up to 2 days before sailing but always make sure you keeping any OBC or perks that you original had

this might of change ,since the last time we upgraded

Our Iceland cruise on Eclipse this August was $3300 per person taxes included when we booked. That was for a cruise only fare in a V2 cabin.  When volcanic activity started up in December prices started dropping.  We re-priced twice and ended up with a 55%savings. The only thing we lost was some, not all of our OBC from the TA because his commission went down.   Mark me very happy

I happen to check our Silhouette repo sailing for April 2025 for some reason (not price checking) and  noticed it dropped from what I had booked it at the week before. I called (I HATE making calls, lol) and saved $600! The call was worth it.

The thing with a hold is you can back out. That way the cabin and the rate are locked in.

My TA will hold things from 3-5 days depending on the line, even when I've told her what I want to the cabin she'll get the info, put a hold on, and come back to me with the rate and I give her the go ahead to put the deposit down. If for some reason I've changed my mind, I'll tell her and she'll release the hold. No harm, no foul.

My TA did end up putting a hold on cabin!  I’m so happy!  Thanks!

Keep an eye on that one. We are on our second reprice. Guessing it will level out soon but I’m checking weekly right now.

Agreed. I’ve repriced 5+ times for a savings of over $5,000 so far.

Where are you cruising to?

I read about lots of Ppl repricing and save, I book 2 years out and still none  of them has ever dropped.

Japan, July 1, 2025.  2 AquaClass cabins.  Repriced bunch of times saving $600-$1,800 each time.  I have a feeling I have the best price now.  Let’s see.  I do this with all my trips.  Going on Silversea next month and repriced that a few times saving at least $8,000.  I’ve had a lot of luck repricing hotel rooms as well for savings of 30%+.

That's a great price. I too an not keen on the IV but if the upgrade was not too expensive its worth it.

Agreed.  In the Celebrity MoveUp program, they had offered to let me bid on IV with a starting bid of $910 for 2, and of course, no assurance that bid would be accepted.  But to me, $30 per person was a no-brainer.

I like to watch the pricing.  However for me it is always in the wrong direction (higher).  But I do book as soon as the cruises become available...

I booked early and the prices went up.  But I think they still have a chunk of unsold cabins, so now that we're under final payment penalties, they lowered them to less than what I paid.

I had a moveup offer accepted after final payment also.  So perhaps that is the best time to pay attention...  People cancel, etc...

One more point to add to this thread is that they now show that I have booked an E2 veranda, which means that I get more captains club points. Pretty close to elite, so that in and of itself is worth $30 per person. If I did the move up program, of course it’s more expensive and I don’t think I get the additional points for the higher category of cabin.

This will give me three points per night instead of two, so instead of 14 points. I will get 21, and I think I also get an extra three points for doing that Go Green thing where they make up your room less, so that will put me at 24 points, if my math is right. I wonder how much more it would be to upgrade to concierge class and pick up another couple of points per night?
