Cabins with Regular sliding balcony door on E class ship?

Recommended Posts

As much as we like S class ships, we are considering to try E class, but do not like concept of IV.

What categories of balcony cabins have regular sliding doors? The only one I found are Sunset verandas.

Please someone advise.

Thank you

Thank you for your information. Those are out my travel budget. I was hoping for some AQ cabins, since we enjoy Blu.

Can someone confirm if Sunset verandas do have sliding doors and what type of door is in porthole veranda cabin?

Thanks

Liao only mentioned suites.

He did not tell you that the Deluxe Porthole Veranda category of which there are 58 and are less expensive than the Infinite Verandas have sliding doors, Here is a video:

Yes but this is NOT a true balcony as in M/S class ships

I believe that was what OP was asking about.

IV is not a balcony.....It was a one and done for us on a recent cruise on the Ascent.

Cheers

Have to disagree here.  A porthole veranda  - you step outside making it a true balcony.

Although it is still not what i would consider a true balcony.......not even close.

It's a room with a window basically.( but it does have a sliding door )

We enjoy our balconies too much, and as beautiful as the E class ships are, we primarily sail S class.

Just our personal choice.

Cheers

Feels very much like a balcony on RCL Voyager class ships , they have a lot of steel around you

I stand corrected then. I was told by X that the only true balconies were SV and suites.

 Cheers

That was incorrect information

heres a “porthole verandah” on edge

And it has a sliding glass door and actual drapery, not a pulldown shade

More of an obscured balcony...  About 70% view through the round circle.

We have stayed in a sunset veranda on Beyond. We chose that cabin for the same reasons you stated. It has a true balcony with sliding doors. The biggest cabin on celebrity we have had with the exception of suites. We love Blu too, unfortunately no AQ cabins with traditional balconies.

The decade old "it's a room with a window!! comments still come flying in.

To answer the actual question, if you are not booking a suite your options are SV or the Porthole Veranda. Xcel will have four cabins with a traditional balcony that are neither SV or suites.

It’s like an enclosed sunroom, I’d take an IV over this any day.

We just had something similar to a porthole veranda on new Sun Princess and it was fine. The door was not sliding, but just like a regular door, that would not stay open unless you put a chair to hold it open.

Porthole, SV & suites. That's it.

SV are wonderful--huge balconies, very traditional. Did love our SV on the Edge.

Porthole--have not stayed in one but saw one on a cabin crawl.

Not for us. VERY narrow balcony. The one we saw, you would not be able to turn the chairs toward balcony while sitting in them. I have had people say they could...perhaps they aren't a tall as us!

Suites are great...but one & done for us unless we find an amazing deal. I'd rather sail more often.

(amazing how many replies you have gotten in 4 hrs!!)
