Diamond and Above Beverage Package Discount

Recommended Posts

So today they had a National Bourbon Day sale for beverage packages. Our December 2024 Symphony cruise is showing as a Diamond and above discount for the package - $62.99.  Lowest I've seen it lately.  We just became Diamond in December, so this next cruise will be our first cruise as Diamond.  Do they do these diamond and above discounts multiple times a year?

Officially D+ and P enjoy a beverage package discount of 30% and 40% when purchased on board the ship.

The availability of D level discounts was never officially part of the CAS program.

Since these pre-cruise "flash" sales for any level of the CAS aren't official no one knows if they will stick around or never been seen again.

No.  They randomly show up.  I’ve seen two since last October.  The two I’ve seen were for excursions and offered a few days before the cruise started.  We got a cabana at the oasis pool for something like $400 last October.

Good to know! I usually check pricing every day, so will continue to do so!

Remember you get 4 free drinks everyday, I wouldn’t buy drink package unless you were going to drink 8 drinks a day .

Yes, but with bottled water, Powerade, etc, it is more than just alcoholic drinks. We normally average 6-8 alcoholic drinks per day alone, not including bottled water, soft drinks, or Powerade etc. I did go back and forth on it, though.

We always get a supply of bottled water sent to our stateroom and with the D+ five drinks and the Casino complimentary drinks we don't get the package any longer.

Before we had the above benefits, I always got the DELUXE and my (one alcohol drink a day) wife always got the ROYAL REPLENISHMENT.

We definitely like to drink and are diamond plus , only reason we don’t buy drink package is we are in a suite so we get a 3 hour happy hour that doesn’t count against our 5 drinks . Also remember you can bring on two bottles of wine.

We don’t buy the deluxe drink package but will buy the refreshment package depending on the ship and cabin type we have booked.

$65.99 for Wonder next month, lowest I've ever seen for my Wonder cruises.

Good prices on refreshment ($23.99) and Soda ($8.99) as well. Refreshment isn't D and above, just says C&A, and soda is a standard sale.

Have you considered buying a case of water that is delivered to your cabin. I think its listed under gifts but I could be wrong where its listed. It's not listed with the packages that are daily charges, this is a one time charge.

Also of course you can carry on power aide, 12 per cabin, carry on only.

For me the pkg woukdnt be worth a daily charge, but everyone is different. Many buy a case of water to be delivered usuallynbosrding day.

I also get 3 bottles of free water I always give away. I like carbonated water or ice water. I prefer ship water with ice to free bottled water. It's hard for someone to suggest to someone else, we are all so different.

The sale showed up in my Cruise Planner today. DBP for $56.99. That's the lowest price I've seen for the DBP since pre-Covid cruises.

Unfortunately mine still says 25% off so that’s equal to $78.72 USD

I'm on Symphony next month. Price came down to $62.99. Lowest I've seen since checking. Comes to $1040 for two ppl.

Same $62.99pp/day price for 12/22/23 Symphony 6 night cruise: $891.84 for 2 people after 18% gratuities.

Same price also offered on 12/28 Symphony 8 night cruise.

$1,007.84 Total for 2.

Not offered on our Aug 2025 Liberty OTS sailing.

We’re not going to book since we already get 5 D+ vouchers a day. Our adult kids are Diamond, Still seems too high to me.

It is a better price than before this sale. before it was $76.99/$72.99 "sale" price per day.

8/21/25 Liberty is as follows. Note that the regular price is listed as $100, but it is currently $105 on my 2024 sailings. They sure do like to play with the percent off “sales”.

This is not a Diamond or higher sale:

$79.99 / per guest per day
$100.00 onboard
(20% OFF) PRE-CRUISE SAVINGS

$62.99 on our September 8 Wonder cruise. We’re not drinkers so we’re not buying. Refreshment and soda the same as yours. We already have soda at $8.99 from Black Friday.

I’m wondering if you bring a bottle of wine to a restaurant if you are D+ will they charge a corkage fee and how much ? TIA

In the old days the best DX sale pre-cruise was typically 30% so it was always 50/50 to pre-purchase as a D+.

Now, DX sales are all over the map.  There are sometimes better than 30% deals pre-cruise.  It all depends on your ship and sail date.

Equally important, now that D+ get five free drinks, every D+ needs to validate if buying a package is even necessary.  Five free drinks plus five to six purchased drinks, everyday is loosely the break even point for a D+.  Will you each drink ten or eleven drinks every single day?

If so that great but that is just the break even point at which you really need eleven to twelve drinks plus per day to gain any benefit.  If you have a port intensive cruise that may be challenging.

As a P with six drinks per day I tried the DX once and it was impossible to drink enough (for me).  Now I just drink as I feel like it and if I end up charging one or two drinks per day on select days without a package I'm still way ahead.

You are making the mistake a lot of people make concerning the deluxe drink package. The package includes a lot more than just alcoholic drinks. It includes water, soda, coffee, sports drinks, etc. For example, on a cruise in the Caribbean I usually drink 10-12 bottles of water a day, several Powerade zeros while and after working out every day, and 5-6 Pellagrinos at dinner. In the morning it is easy to drink 3-4 Mimosas since they are on the small side, and now you are down to 1-2 drinks left if you are D+ like me. The bottom line when deciding if the deluxe drink package is worth it, you have to consider everything you drink on a daily basis, not just alcohol.
