Complimentary Tier Match at MGM Las Vegas

I remember doing this years ago but I just received an email from Celebrity advertising it again.

I logged into the MGM site but their tiers have different names than Celebrity.

Can anyone tell me what level MGM I would be at if I'm Elite Plus on Celebrity?

Thanks

(I also remember being able to tier match a second place from the MGM program but no longer remember where that was)

The Celebrity MGM match resets about every year.  You have to continually call to get it re-applied

I set a reminder for every February to call in to get it reapplied because it's such a handy/easy perk. The best benefit IMO is that MGM Gold saves you the dreaded resort fees, with all the other stuff just icing.

MGM is now doing hotel match with Marriott.

I was pretty disappointed with the matching program with Marriott to be honest.

MGM Gold status only gets you Bonvoy Silver status which is pretty basic.

And you need top level Bonvoy Ambassador Elite to get resort fees waived.

Since we live in Las Vegas the biggest perk for us is free parking and being able to skip a line here and there.  It is a pain to have to renew each year since our Celebrity status does not expire but it takes me less than 5 minutes to stop in and visit the MGM Rewards desk.

Being retired we don't stay in hotels much anymore so the Marriott deal is not a biggie for me. Neither was Hyatt.

We status match elite plus for MGM’s gold card at the Borgata hotel in Atlantic City and having to renew it every year is a pain since we aren’t always there at the beginning of the year. In fact I just renewed it for 2024 two weeks ago in AC, our first time down there this year!

Is there a phone number to call to have it done so that we keep the status without renewing in person  and then just have to pick up our cards at the Rewards desk?
I found when I got bounced back to the lower card at Borgata, my comp rooms and some other offers disappeared, so to be able to call and keep gold would be great!

Maybe I am drunk (no maybe, I am drunk), but I didn't follow all of your post.

Basically asking if there is a phone number to call yearly to renew your MGM status match to your Celebrity Captains Club status.

Living in Vegas we receive better deals from Circa, Palms and Venetian. Free nights each month. Forgot, add Hard Rock to that as well. We try and avoid the strip as much as possible. MGM used to have much better perks but they changed their program.

From the MGM Rewards website:  MGM Rewards Member Services:  866.761.7111

(I checked my phone log history and confirmed I called this number when I renewed my status match this past Feb.)

They will ask you for both your MGM rewards number and captain's club number and put you on hold for a few mins while they verify your CC status.  Pretty straightforward.

Can you share the phone number to call to get the status match?

From the email Celebrity just sent out about the match.   I called the other day and it was taken care of promptly.

I've always done it via email to memberservices@mgmresorts.com. I include my name, Celebrity status and member number, and MGM member number.

We received the email too.  I am interested in knowing more about the additional match with Marriott.  How does that work?  We went to Vegas for the first time last year and stayed at the Westin Las Vegas which is part of the Marriott rewards program.  We do tend to stay at Marriott hotels and take advantage of their rewards program.

Thanks in advance for any info on this 🙂

The MGM properties now accept reservations through Marriott, and you can use Marriott points to book them, but its a garbage deal. Its usually much cheaper (if youve ever played at any MGM casino) to book straight through MGM. My rates through Marriott are double/triple what they are through MGM booking engine. Marriott conveys no discounts - its rack rates. Barely any perks either. i wouldnt bother.

That said, the Celebrity to MGM match is awesome. We avoid that stupid resort fee bc we match to MGM gold yearly.  No matching to Marriott that I know of at all. I am lifetime Titanium with Marriott and it gets nothing matched with Celebrity or with MGM.

I am currently Bonvoy Silver, RCL Emerald and MGM Pearl.

I travel to Las Vegas every January. When I return, my status reverts to Pearl, so I have to call in to MGM Rewards and have my RCL Emerald status matched to MGM Gold. The room offers are good, but saving the $50/night resort fee is worth GOLD.

My RCL status has tier matched me to Celebrity Select, but that gets me pretty much nothing of any value. I can send 2 shirts for pressing, I guess? And while my status is Select, my points are zero so I still have to "earn" all the points to get to Elite.

Some may find value, but outside of eliminating resort fees, tier matching has provided nothing of any value to me.

I rent  a car so the free valet is also a huge benefit of Gold MGM.

Thanks for posting this. Staying at an MGM property in Vegas next month and had no clue this was a thing...you just saved me resort fees.
