Panorama Transpacific 08/22/24 - 09/10/24 - Live-ish 'cause that's how I roll

Okay, after 2 whiskey based drinks I needed some food since the only thing I ate today was the 3 tacos. Since it's a Carnival ship, that meant pizza!

 

However, Java Blue is right next to P&A soI grabbed an oatmilk latte onmy way to the elevators.  I also figured I'd stop at my room, since it's only one floor up, to see if my luggage had been delivered yet. SCORE!

 

 

So I took a little time to unpack since this will be my home for 18 days.

 

 

You might notice something about this picture and yes, you are correct, I am an elder goth.

 

Finally finished unpacking I am now up on the Lido aft enjoying a prosciutto pizza. They're doing the muster drill now so we should be leaving port soon.

 

 

The coffee and pizza have done wonders to sop up the booze so I'll probably head to Alchemy soon.

Okay, the ship's wifi has taken a dump. I can't log and it keeps telling me to connect to the wifi when I already have. Tried logging out, turning off wifi and then turning it back on, but nothing seems to work. A couple of people around me said they were having the same issue.

Okay, the actual wifi is working but the app is not. Considering they no longer put all the info in the dailies and want you to use the app, this could be an issue if not fixed soon.

Soooo, it's a quarter past 6 and we're still in port. Might be because they're still loading supplies onto the ship. When we were coming into the port on the bus there were so many semis waiting in the que. Since it's such a long cruise they probably need to load this puppy up.

 

I'm at Alchemy and they are still waiting on some ingredients for the bar.

Yes, we started moving little after 9pm.

It's the first day and I have made a friend. We met at Alchemy and just had dinner.  I had the duck rolls and the shirt ribs which was very good. A nice glass of a Cabernet from Paso Robels region went well with our meal. 

 

 

 

Also before we went to dinner, Lucci made an appearance at Alchemy and made me a Tiki Bird.

That looks infinitely better than what they served on my Panorama cruise.  I hope that means you are off to a great start.

Went for a swim and soaked in the hot tub for a bit.

Time for bed and I need to change the time back one hour. Looks like we'll be changing them back until September 2nd when we jump forwards in time almost an entire day.

Losing that day as we flew to Japan was abrupt, but it will be interesting to hear how the gradual time change affects you.⏲️😺

Following along on your journey. I’ve done a few TP’s and I love sea days. I will be bringing Panorama back to US in Oct. Thanks for doing this report. 
Also interested in knowing who the mixologists are at Alchemy. Thanks. I know they may or may not be there in Oct. Have fun!

I don't mind flying but I'd rather cruise back than do long haul in economy! (bulkhead for the win)

I did the TA on Regal in April too.  Lots of solos and helped organise the solo tables for dinner.

Booked on Emerald TA next April.

I will also be on the TP in October, returning the Panorama from Singapore to Long Beach.  That will be my 7th sailing on Panorama, my favorite Carnival ship.  This will be my third TP.

I completely missed getting the name of the two ladies who opened the bar but I'll do that tonight.
