Enjoyed your review.

Shopping in the bazaar at Kusadasi was not fun.. very aggressive  vendors and not high quality goods

. We enjoyed our tour to Ephesus and views of beautiful beaches we would love to visit some day..Last stop of tour  was the carpet  Place.. aggressive hard sell but we escaped!

We had a great lunch at an historic  place that  used to be an inn for caravan travellers and their  animals.  Beautifully preserved with amazing tile work..cannit recall the name.

Today is Nafplio

Lovely old city!

Walkable, fortresses and swimming😎💙👌🏻

We started the day a bit slow. Charlotte was not up and running 😝

We attended the white night party on deck last night. So we were not in bed until midnight 🕛🤭

Breakfast was OV.

I went crazy and beyond🤣🤭

Poached egg Mexican 🇲🇽 style AND a Belgian 🇧🇪 waffle for dessert👌🏻

IMG_1553.thumb.jpeg.d892f90696d0fadefcf8060af3e13ae1.jpeg

Then we headed out and about around 09.25.

Priority tender got us straight down and on😉

We went to the lowest fortress 🏰 and had a stroll in the city centre. Lots of sweet shops and cafes💙 it reminds me a lot of Hydra.

When we were upstairs on the fortress I could see perfectly clear water and the beach 🏖️ area…..

my oh my….

Charlotte was “dying” of heat and sweat 💦 (she is not a Norwegian mountain ⛰️ goat 🐐 🤣 that’s one big difference between us🤭🤪)

The clock was only 11.25 so I asked her, do you want to have a dip in the ocean?

YES 🙌🏻

So I said to her that I will run back onboard, pick up towels and bathing attire.

So I walked her down to the city square and said that she could get a coffee and some shade.

Then I run to the pier, jumped on the tender, run the stairs from 1-9. Grabbed towels, changed to swim wear and run back downstairs.

I pinged in at 11.46 and at 11.57 I was in line to board a tender back🙌🏻

I meet Charlotte in town and we continued on the flat walkway going around the hill of the fortress by the ocean😎, had a breeze and found a good place for a dip in the 🌊.

After floating around for 1,5h I went up to dry.

Charlotte arrived after a while.

After drying off, she said it was time to go back onboard.

We walked back to the pier and got a tender.

We pinged back around 15.30

After returning back onboard… Charlotte was ready for some food. It was the choice of pasta or pizza🍕

They had stripped everything else away.

I was hoping for afternoon tea… but they didn’t have it on this sailing🥺

So pizza it was🤭

Then it was time to clean up from the day and do the dreaded packing😩😢🫣

It took me 5.minutes to do my suitcase 🧳

Charlotte on the other side….. yep 👍🏻 she’s not trained yet😂😂😂

So I showered, got dressed and went downstairs for a little snack in Al Bacio before the show.
IMG_1630.thumb.jpeg.760654c083b84fcf724ba9df08638395.jpeg

Tonight’s show was iBroadway production show.

IMG_1631.thumb.jpeg.52ac73b551103dc8652b0f6135097dc6.jpeg

It’s a good show and Charlotte enjoyed it.

I’m a bit tired of the production shows by now😜 (so it will be nice to have some new content on other sailings😅)

After the show it was time for a little drink 🍸

Cheers to a great cruise☺️

Tonight’s dinner:

IMG_1638.thumb.jpeg.8218efda5e61c09b1af6d61d1269a2da.jpeg

Charlotte went for a tour de tasty of main course

Chicken and beef🍴😅

IMG_1639.thumb.jpeg.50aea5c7672c027d9563ea5690c45a32.jpeg

IMG_1641.thumb.jpeg.e0d47818bce275d838cfb29fe48e811d.jpeg

I went for shrimp 🦐 cocktail and arugula salad.

IMG_1642.thumb.jpeg.2ebf95f4a108ba2a38d22a8ea424e41f.jpeg

I was not too keen on anything on the main course  menu…

So I ordered nothing….

Well, they think I’m starving😅

So a plate of the beef 🥩 arrived for me also…

IMG_1641.thumb.jpeg.e0d47818bce275d838cfb29fe48e811d.jpeg

For dessert I had ice cream(surprise 🤣🤣🍨)

We were port side at some point around 2 ish…

We were waked by the process of getting luggage and stuff off…🤪🤪🤪🤪

It really made heavy noise😳🥱😵‍💫

So it was a partially one eye sleep 💤

We left our home away from home a little bit before 07.30.

Today’s breakfast was MDR.

Menu:

IMG_1646.thumb.jpeg.c271083dc57c71c807970ef6d9c0ea03.jpeg

IMG_1647.thumb.jpeg.c745b77ff716cfb269c589cd1b0f644c.jpeg

I had my poached eggs and salmon😋

They arrived plated as I wanted them👌🏻

IMG_1648.thumb.jpeg.9ed796bd4f0d8b28d178e2d5708236a7.jpeg

Charlotte had salmon plate, omelette and some peach 🍑 pastry 🥐.

Service was good and food was served in a good tempo with no stress 😎

Then we waited for 15.minutes before it was time to leave for the last ping on this cruise🥺🫣💙

it was a very “sober” goodbye for now when we walked downstairs and out the gangway. No smiles or by for now from senior crew or activity manager on the gangway.

Luggage was waiting in the terminal.
We docked on B the real terminal today.
So a physical terminal building and bus 80x has starting position from the terminal.

Loved reading your reviews as usual.  Can't wait for your next adventure.

My sons recently returned from separate trips to Greece, the eldest claimed that one of our three cats looked like he had eaten three of the Grecian cats. (actually it's possibly two of the cats that look like that)  I vociferously defended my beloved cat, now after seeing your photos of the cats in Greece I think there may be a modicum of truth in what he says.😃

Grecian cats must be the best fed in the world…Whenever we visit the Greek Islands we always choose which fish restaurant to try based on the number of cats camped outside…

Likewise in Singapore we visited China town with the aim of trying some of their local food and the cats clearly showed us the best shrimp and chicken…

Perhaps they stay so lean meandering from one feast to another in the hot weather…

We picked up our luggage 🧳

And started our walk to the metro station. (I think Charlotte wants to drown me😅 for all the walking soon🤣🤣🤣🤣)

It’s a decent walk but a flat walk. 🚶🏼

We took the metro to Omonia and walked down to our hotel for 1.night.

We are staying at Solomou Hotel.

The room was not ready when we arrived.

So we dropped off the luggage 🧳 and went for a walk.

The target 🎯 was National Gardens and a walk.

We went out, it’s a hot day, so we did some window shopping and arrived in the garden.

We meet some turtles 🐢 on our way🩷🐢

IMG_1660.thumb.jpeg.8620c1c57b52ad91457c8c785a324943.jpeg

After walking around and looking 👀 we went into the pedestrian area for shopping.

Charlotte was ready for some food and a cold drink.

We found a place for some food and a cold beverage.

IMG_1661.thumb.jpeg.6c9d80eec20c42156f0ca662b4929791.jpeg

After our lunch break, we decided to go back to the hotel. We had walked 9500 steps already. So Charlotte was a bit “done” for the moment.

So we could check in and take 5.minutes to relax.

Our room was ready and luggage was already parked in our room👌🏻

Room was better as of now compared to pre cruise hotel. Size equal. But lighter colour palette.

Charlotte needed a siesta🥱😅

Thank you for your review and menus! We like fish but often find it disappointing on ships - what is your opinion and any recommendations of the various options. Also did the OV happen to have a lunch where they grilled fresh fish on a large grill at the back of the dining room. They did this one time on a TA and it was VERY good. Thanks!

After a “little” siesta of 2.5h Charlotte came alive again☺️

She woke up and said GYROS time!

So off we went for gyros!

Tonight’s menu consisted of choice of chicken, pork or mixed.

We went for chicken 🐔

IMG_1667.thumb.jpeg.602c4fb2cfc72f8fe9760d990c88ae32.jpeg

After our 5* dinner…. No dessert, no party…

We went back to our hotel.

Had a phone call with the Queen and finishing up the luggage 🧳 for tomorrow morning 🌅

Rise & Shine

We went up around 07.30.

Hotel had breakfast, not utterly impressed…(for my taste) so I had some yogurt. No fruits.

Charlotte had toast, some sausage and cold cuts.

Then it was time to check out and travel 🧳 to the airport.

We were using the metro to the airport.

I tried to book a taxi last night…. Welcome pickups could not accommodate us. It was a notification that they were very busy between 09.00-12.30.

So then it was metro 🚇

Our room was on the 6.floor and the lift was on the smaller side😅🧳😅🧳

So to get a lift downstairs was the waiting game🤪 I should have known better…. A large French 🇫🇷 group was leaving the same time we were leaving🤪🤪🤪

We finally left the hotel around 08.50.

Then we walked up to Omonia, took the metro to Syntagma for exchange to the green line to the airport.

Unfortunately we just missed the train, so it was 20. Minutes waiting time….

We arrived at the airport 10.15 and walked straight to check in, dropped off the bags 💼 and walked straight through the security.

So at 10.40 we were seated in the GoldenAir lounge.
IMG_1668.thumb.jpeg.0be6e007a2b320b683d48307bfe51979.jpeg

It’s a larger lounge at ATH.

It’s okay, food and drinks are better in LH lounge and Aegean lounge.

But since SAS left star alliance 1.September… we need to use this lounge.

We are now a member of Sky Team… So friends in the US…. 🇺🇸 Delta it is😅🤭
