Casino: I miss the free upgrades to Suites

Before the July 2024 casino perk downgrades, you used to get a free upgrade to sky suite on a select future cruise (from a long list) if you earned 15k slot screen pts.

Recently, I earned 8k pts with 3 days left on the cruise.

9k gets me a free concierge.

I was up 4 figures so I decided at that point  it's Not worth it to me to gamble $35k coin-in more to get to the level above that.

 

If it was still a free suite, then yeah i'd go for it and give the casino a chance to get their $ back.

But i slowed down my play significantly and just got the Concierge.

 

Yes, with that $, i can buy an upgrade to a suite.
But getting it for free (even if i lose that $) feels so much more enjoyable.

I miss the a capella quartets and the desserts displayed on a tray in the MDR and the palate cleansing sherbet. Stuff like that?

In the casino, I miss the pusher machines that used quarters.  We had a lot of luck with them, especially in rough seas🤑

nah.

but if i gambled hard with my profits knowing that the free suite upgrades were eliminated then yeah sign me up.

 

and lucky you, you're going to see more gambling threads by me for the rest of the year.

this month was the 1st cruise since the casino perk downgrades.

i have 6 more celebrity cruises. (i'm grandfathered till jan 2025)

lets see what other 1stworld problems you will enjoy reading  from my free cruises.

 

Hopefully the casino program will change for the better next year once they realize us mid level gamblers have lowered our playing

Just the one butler now. It is how it used to be.

 

Of course, for some of us that had fully paid for that, Celebrity switched it to “a Retreat Team” to “provide better service” for a period, taking away the dedicated butler. 

Celebrity burned me there and lost a good amount of my business. I know they don’t care, so I get my satisfaction from calling our their lies and **** (and sailing elsewhere).

yes, i miss the original qsine.

after eating at the cartoon replacements (versions 1+2), i had enough. 
V1 was cute. v2 was a big let down over v1.

now they're up to v5. 😮
So on long cruises, they're trying to get you to do all FIVE versions.

Luckily my pricing is the same as when i started in 2018.

Just port fees/taxes + cabin tips. Regular drink card + premium internet were included.
Now i get premium drink card.

unfortunately, that's over july 2025. Hopefully in June 2025 they'll announce changes for the better.

If not then it was a fun 7yrs.
Even tho i'll be only  about 500pts from Zenith by then, I'll be jumping to another cruise

If I ever got in the neighborhood of Zenith, which is unlikely in this lifetime, I think I'd stick it out!  But I hear ya!  Maybe you need to give MSC a try...I've had great luck in their casino, they don't report hand pays and you can upgrade as well.  Oh...almost forgot, they also status match.

And the 2021 pricing for every other single thing we buy, Celebrity is not unique in this at all, despite you wishing it was. Not defending the prices they charge to anyone here who thinks they’re excessive, if you and others think they are too expensive get that. We still feel we get good value from them.

Agreed, some people just cant  be pleased..
