Hmm, I wanted to book FAS+ for my 12/2/24 sailing but it is no longer available.  Will I need to call?  I was just trying to spread out the charges.  I will sit tight for the moment, and deal with it when the time comes, but it was a better value for me.

Thanks,

PM

It isn’t available whether you call or not. It’s no longer a thing and if you had purchased it already then it would have been cancelled.

Right now, this implementation is confusing, since I understand it to go into effect AFTER 12/31/2024.  However, in August we ordered the Premium Plus Beverage Package for an upcoming 2024 cruise.  Our PPBP is no longer showing up on our "Summary."

I'll give it a few days to see what's happening, but "good grief!"

Hey, we're talking NCL IT here! It may look one way today, another way tomorrow and yet another way next week! Or later today...
(FAS+ upgrade possibility was visible a couple of hour ago on my Nov 2024 TA, but not any more)

My additional two meals that I purchased seem to have disappeared from our reservation.

As we are booked in an inside for an 11 day cruise we only have a one meal package. Good job they didn’t change latitudes, but we are still going to have to pay the cover charge for a couple of places.

So looking at some itineraries I have been watching for a few months (and haven't changed in price).....my total bill has gone up about 2.5% to 2.90% (appx $200-$300) on all itineraries (all 12+nights) for BF entry level balcony cabins.

So for that increased cost....I get 2 more specialty dining, a little more flexibility on drinks, and lose half our WIFI minutes.  All told, not a positive but also not a huge change either.  Just disappointed they didn't use this opportunity to make bigger changes.

We almost pulled the trigger to buy the FAS+ last night on our July Prima cruise.  Glad we didn't bother since it would have been paid and then refunded some 45-60 days later (for my convenience 🤣  Disappointed with the changes overall.

I have a fairly detailed spreadsheet that tracked our "consumption" on past cruises to "justify" our past upgrades.  Time to re-visit that and see how much more this newly enhanced program is going to cost us if we continue to indulge the way we have on previous cruises.

- Whistle Pig Old Fashioned every night, at least 3 bottles of Aqua Pana per day, Starbucks every morning, Veuve (or whatever premium bubbles) throughout the cruise, various bottles of wine Specialty dinning every night (give the upgrade and platinum status), upgraded wifi, .

Frankly, until I see the list, I'm expecting very few of the true "premium" liquors and better glasses of wine will be on the new program.  They will all be classified as "Connoisseur Collection", if I had to guess...

"more at sea" = 2016/2017 "free at sea".  They are literally just adding back things they slowly took away the last 8 years.  Kind of funny to see.  (used to be 3/4 specialty meals for a 7 day, with as many apps and desserts as you liked, the rest of more at sea is the same as what free at sea is/was)

If you sail before Jan 1 you get FAS same as now. If you sail after Jan 1 and already bought FAS before today you keep FAS, if you haven’t bought FAS yet and upgrade now you get MAS.

Also - If you upgrade your room you get MAS upgrade at no cost, but if you reprice due to lower fare/better offer you have to pay difference between FAS price and MAS price and switch to MAS.

On the website.  May pull the trigger tonight if it is still there 😂

Ok, I'll try and look there.   We had purchased FAS+ for a December sailing and, as of this morning, it no longer shows up in "my plans" on the App.   And it doesn't show as available to purchase their either.

Takes the pressure off me of remembering to report back timely!    Looking forward reading about your experience in three days.

My thought/hope is, since we made the reservation prior to all of this mumbo-jumbo, and they say that we are subject to the "old" rules, there would be no change to the Latitudes reserving process. We shall see...

If there is no change to the latitudes reserving process then that will mean you get charged. You have always been charged when reserving places with a cover charge.

The only reason that we haven’t been charged in the past is because of a loophole due to a la carte reservations. It was never done in order to avoid us being charged and the line from NCL staff was always that you can’t book them upfront.

To avoid the charge going forward we need NCL to make a change to the process.

Hopefully there will be enough grumbling from people that they will make those changes.

Yes, our "free at sea plus" has disappeared for our December sailing.   We are sub 90 days to sail.   Anyone have experience yet this morning barking at NCL or Haven Concierge for this ?   I am guessing they will not give us any break to cancel, but I find this hilariously bad customer service.   We had upgraded for the water / starbucks / unlimited internet with the 2 extra meals a bonus.

Same. They removed it from our October 6, 2024 sailing. Yup that’s in a few days. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I have my TA checking on it.

You'll get a refund for the FAS+ as it's no longer offered for sailings as of 1/1/25.

Let me know what you hear.   I was going to call in a bit and see what they say, but likely will try and cancel with as close to a full refund as I can get given their switch-a-roo.

So as far as I can tell, MAS goes into effect starting 1/1 but if you're sailing between today and December 31, there is no longer an option to upgrade to the Free At Sea Plus.

Am I misreading this?

So the drink menu isn't changing until 1/1, the specialty dining pricing isn't changing until 1/1, but if you're sailing before the end of the year, you just have to pay extra instead of having the bundle option we would've had if we sailed yesterday?

edit: for clarification purposes, I'm booked on a TA in December on the Encore and do not have the option to upgrade to FAS+ anymore.  My only offer upgrades are for unlimited internet packages.
