LIVE - Beyond 1/29/2023 - Live Blog, Cat Blog, Vlog!
Good Evening.

Annnnnd, we’re back. And what a time it is to BE back! After our most recent cruise in June (detailed somewhat below in background) we are once again Celebrity bound on the Beyond, our first ever “new” ship (with regards to the Summit, Equinox and Reflection – Johnny, I hardly knew ya’) experience. Now, it seems, is the winter of Cruise Critic’s discontent – which we will counter with uproarious good cheer; Onward!

LIVE from Celebration Jan 29 w/Rolex 24 Photos
LIIVE FROM CELEBRATION 1/29

Getting a jump start on this...

Hi, I’m Dave. I am a lowly VIFP Gold, but a degenerate gambler, so I booked this cruise about 3 months ago (last minute?), because we got to get out. Been a crazy last couple years, but the last year has been bad. I mention all this because it will be relevant to my (our) fun and comfort.

Live from the Encore
Thought I would share my thoughts of our current cruise on the Encore.   This is my second time on the Encore and like 10th NCL cruise.

Embarkation:  The new terminal is really nice.  Easy and quick check-in.   The issues were getting to the terminal as the traffic was nuts!.  There was a marathon in the morning and it seemed that the traffic issues kept growing.   Heard people spent up to 2hours in traffic just to get dropped off.     We witnessed people still boarding at 4pm…..

Semi-live from the Edge | February 3-13 | Southern Caribbean
Hey everyone,

At the Vancouver International Airport right now, about to start our journey to Miami. On Friday we’ll be embarking on the Celebrity Edge for the 10-day Southern Caribbean itinerary out of Fort Lauderdale with stops in St Maarten, St Lucia, Barbados, Antigua, and St Kitts.

We’ve been to most of these ports many times, except for St Kitts which will be new to us.

This is my third time sailing Celebrity, and first time on an Edge-class ship.

Live from the Ovation
Day 1
Hi, Everyone,
This is our fourth cruise with Seabourn, we have sailed with Silversea and Regent, in my opinion there is not a lot between them, others may disagree?
So, where to start? Mr. Fudge is a young 72 yrs. old, (well he thinks he is!) Mrs Fudge celebrates her 60th birthday and our wedding anniversary today, and her father’s birthday.

Live (kind of) from the Solstice 2/4-2/11
Solstice Day -1

Here we go again - it’s time for my annual cruise with my sister (as always known as Beth).  We’d originally booked a January 30 10 day cruise on the Equinox, but it turned out we had tickets for the US Figure Skating championships in San Jose the week before, and that ended at 8:30 pm on the 29th.  So we decided to move that to 2024.

Post in Live to Partly Live to Oh Well from Celebrity Infinity, Feb 11-25, 2023 Antarctica and Iguasu Falls
I had OBC that I needed to use on something, so booked the Iguazu Falls Overnight excursion through Celebrity. I may not be much use to those trying to plan on their own, but will take pictures. The cruise includes booze, tips, and basic Internet so that is taken care on.

I booked premium economy round trip air through Celebrity and so far am happy with my selection. It was at least $500 cheaper than I could have booked on my own. Not business class, but I do get 2 bags included. Flying in 2 days early, so hopefully even if there is a flight delay, I will still make the cruise.

“Live” from the Royal on Mexican journey.
We boarded Royal Princess yesterday in SFO: very efficient process checking in and through security. What did amaze me was, when the first announcement was made for boarding of “full suites” it seemed to have slipped many people’s mind at what level they were travelling, by the numbers rushing forward!

Live from the Sky Princess- January 28, 2023 Our Big Old “Do-Over” Cruise
Saturday, January 28, 2023 Fort Lauderdale   Oops! I did it again!   Hello friends- I have debated whether or not to blog this cruise... but my blog has become my "memory", so to speak, so here goes...    A few years ago, Jon (my amazing husband) and I decided to stop giving gifts for birthdays and holidays- instead we focus on adventures. So this is my Birthday Adventure Cruise (Otherwise known as the BAC). It is a big birthday for me... ends in a zero- and might rhyme with mixty. But I'm not telling...   This is another lap around the Western Caribbean. One of our favorite "do nothing" cruises.

LIVE - To Vero Beach and (then the) BEYOND -- January 29, 2023

We are in a Sky Suite on Beyond, so we can answer any Q's people have on the Retreat and the amenities. Due to the "current events" on the Celebrity board we will be making almost-nightly trips to the Oceanview Cafe to scope out what's there. Only Specialty restaurant we have planned is Eden on Day 3 but will probably do LeGrand Bistro for lunch. We did both on the Apex last year and they were wonderful.

Live from Solstice - Jan 28th to Feb 4th - First Time X Cruiser
Hello!
This is my first cruise on Celebrity. I have sailed on Holland several times. I was given a “free” cruise due to my MGM Platinum status. I get a free cruise every year, but I’ve never taken advantage of it. I’m really glad I finally took the plunge. My original offer was for an inside room, I upgraded to Aqua Class for $500 for 2. What a great deal. I get seasick, so I picked a midship room. I wish I had splurged for the Retreat. Next time.

A Low-No Booze Cruise on the Mardi Gras - Semi Live
On board the Mardi Gras. Just under way. Heading to San Juan, Amber Cove and Grand Turk.
This is our 2nd time on MG. DW wanted a spa cabin, so we booked a cove balcony on Deck 5.
It's tiny. Barely bigger than an inside. Balcony doesn't even hold 2 chairs comfortably.

This segment has a totally different vibe than the previous segment.  The passenger count is about 80% of full occupancy according to the crew and officer with whom I spoke.  It’s also a very lively group, and the bars are hopping, and lots of people are enjoying a variety of entertainment.

Sorta live on Beyond January 29th
I've followed other live reviews, which always make me happy and feel that it is my turn to return the favor. Hope I can live up to the big shoes to fill. We are in a Celebrity Suite, doing a back to back and won a move up bid to a Royal Suite for the second cruise. Stayed at Margaritaville Hollywood Beach for two nights (review in Florida departures) and got an Uber to the port.

My first B2B will be live from Mardi Gras, Feb 4 to Feb18
Hi everybody.

I've been on 25 cruises, all Carnival.  Usually I cruise with my daughter but once again young love trumped vacay with dad so while I'm looking forward to my first ever B2B (and my second and third cruises on Mardi Gras, my favorite ship by far!), it'll be bittersweet.  That said, I think I'll get over it every time I look at a dinner check and it's half of what I'm used to, having extra spending money, etc.

Semi-Live Enchantment of the Seas! (Solo!) 8 Night, Southeast Coast and Bahamas, Jan 26-Feb 3
Hi, everyone!

First time doing a blog here.

I'm traveling to Baltimore tomorrow and will sail on Thursday. SUPER excited.

This is my billionth cruise, and my fifth one solo. I almost always cruise with RCCL. I've never been on Enchantment, and never sailed out of Baltimore before. I've seen videos of Enchantment and read reviews (here) and it sounds like a wonderful ship. I have been on the Oasis and Quantum class ships and like those a lot, but I am definitely seeking something quiet, laid back, and less crowded this time.  And from what I hear, the crew on Enchantment is extra-great!

Semi-live Wonder - Jan 22 - snippets - our 2 cents
This is our 3rd Royal sailing - previously on Mariner and Odyssey. 7th or 8th cruise overall - Disney, HAL, Carnival, Norwegian.
Traveling with DH & 80yo mama, who is somewhat mobility impaired.
Port out of Canaveral. Orlando is an easy flight. We use Cruise Control transport as a shuttle. Reasonable. Only drawback was with group shuttle ( less $), not on ship as early as we have been in the past.  But only by hours. Jammer was crowded by 1.
The Wonder is big and beautiful. Mama wears a Fitbit, and has noticed that just walking from room to dinner , solarium is getting her way more steps than she normally makes in a day ( hopefully a good thing).

NCL Bliss - LIVE - 1/22/23 to 1/27/23
About Us:
I am new to cruising -- brand new, first cruise. I decided to bring my two teenage sons (15 and 17) on a cruise to make memories. My brother and best friend (who lives on the other side of country) has cruised a few times before and was my personal consultant in helping me select a cruise. It took about 4 weeks of me talking about the cruise nonstop before he decided to crash the party and come along. We are both nerds by nature. We are laid back but we will also scrutinize and analyze data about anything to try and make sense of things. Apologies in advance if there are moments our LIVE report is full of boring information. We are also both idiots. We will take delight in many little and seemingly insignificant details.

OK, (sigh) let’s do this!

I say with a sigh because I have followed Live threads and I know they are a commitment. With that said however, I have been the beneficiary of many live threads that I enjoyed while not cruising and learning many things through them. They have gotten me through winter months when I was working and for that I say Thank You.

“Live” review of Explorer to ABC islands
Hello everyone
I’m here again after my TA review from the Jewel.

I will be boarding Explorer on Saturday but have a bit of a journey to get there from the UK!
So today I start from my home in Harrogate, Yorkshire getting the train from Leeds to Manchester airport (where they are currently moving snow from the runways!) to fly to London Heathrow this evening.

I will be staying at the Radisson hotel near Terminal 5 and then flying to Miami tomorrow afternoon.

Live from the Celebration 1/22/23 cruise
Come join us as we celebrate our 50th Carnival cruise aboard the Celebration.  Our very first cruise was in 96 on the original Celebration.  What a long strange trip it’s been.  I promise not to start singing Dead or any other songs….

Live from World Europa
I’ve never gone a “live” before but as there is so little info on this new ship I thought I’d try.

We are experienced cruisers - Pinnacle members on RCI and Black/diamond members in MSC. This will be our 6th MSC cruise and our first in YC.
We have cruised out of Dubai 5 times on RCI so know the ports well. However as RCI seem to have abandoned the Dubai winter sun itineraries, it was time to jump ship!
We booked the day she went on sale with no real knowledge of deck plans and best locations.

Live from the Dawn, Jan 28 - Feb 8, in the Caribbean followed by a Disney Adventure
Starting to get excited about going on our 11-day cruise on the Dawn, followed by 4 days at Disney World, and then a 4-day Bahamas cruise on the Disney Wish! Hopefully if all goes according to plan, I’ll be posting the highlights of our expanded adventure on this Live From thread.
