⛴️ LIVE from Allure 🎠 out of Galveston - Ozark_Kid and brillohead team up for a duo-thread: Jan 22, 2023
This is a different perspective on LIVE threads, so please bear with me.
@Ozark_Kid and @brillohead have never met each other, but we're both going to be on Allure next week, so we decided to do a combination LIVE thread.  It will be the first LIVE thread for both of us, so please bear with us as we learn how this goes.  We're different types of people traveling in different circumstances, so we'll each be offering different perspectives all in one thread.

Cruise Critic on Viking Polaris! Jan. 18-30
Hi all! I'm writing from the Buenos Aires Hilton. My Viking Polaris trip "officially" starts today. I came in early for a few days vacation in BA.

As it is for everyone, this cruise will be an adventure of a lifetime! Through my work here at Cruise Critic, I have read and edited many stories about Antarctica cruising, and sent many writers to the White Continent. But this is the first time that I get to go!

Bliss 1/22 - 1/27 LIVE - Question Gathering
My brother @drwbrt and I are meeting up in a week for a 5-day down to Cabo and Ensenada out of Los Angeles. I’m a first time cruiser, this will be his 3rd and first with NCL. By nature, both of us read, research, and analyze. We organize the information, add an opinion or two and spit it back out for other to enjoy or hate, read or not. For some nerdy reason we love it and will enjoy our vacation observing and figuring out how things work (and how they don’t).

Third time's a Splendor, a "live-ish" report for January 21-February 8, 2023 cruise
There’s a saying that “The third time’s a charm” but for us “Third time’s a Splendor” Let me explain.

We’ve been on a couple dozen cruises from resort ships (aka "mass market") to luxury and found that at this point in our lives, we prefer the luxury or at least premium lines. We’ve been on Crystal and Silversea for luxury lines and enjoyed them quite a bit. It's hard to describe, but we like the "vibe": not having to pull out a card for every drink order, excellent service, excellent food and wine and at least good to very good entertainment. Nicely appointed smaller ships (i.e., not 3000 pax). Some enrichment lectures are important too.

Norwegian Gem Jan 16-25 Bermuda/Bahamas live report
arrived around 12:30, everything was a smooth & simple process, people were all very friendly and helpful, and we were hanging out at the Great Outdoors by a little after 1:00. Fixed a minor issue with my room card at Guest Services with no wait, and again everyone is very friendly.

Live from NCL Breakaway 15th January 2023
I posted the following on another thread a couple of weeks ago, we are now on board so instead of typing all this again the following shows how we ended up here!

Post in Live from MSC Grandiosa Yacht Club on January 13-20th 2023 Spain, France. Italy & Malta.
Arrived in Barcelona last night. We are staying right on La Ramblas in a hotel called Arc La Rambla. Hotel staff very friendly but our initial Junior suite proved hard to heat. And we were freezing last night. Coupled with dodgy deals going on all night in the lane below us and very loud people doing them we had a disturbed sleep!
New room allocated today but just a downgraded one that looks out onto the road. Is much smaller so should be better to heat and less noisy too!
here’s our new view.

NCL Breakaway - Live from!

Background story!
We started cruising in 2016 ( we are from U.K.) on MSC Divina since then we ( or should I say I?) have become hooked!
We did a status match to the top tier which was then Black from a hotel status so I started my research on Cruise Critic and went on board as a seasoned cruiser!
Since then we have been on 8 MSC cruises and have further 3 booked…
Now let’s get on to how we discovered NCL and how the cruise in 2 weeks time got booked!

LIVE from Emerald Princess Panama Canal FLL-LA 1/2-1/17 2023
Happy New Year everyone and welcome to the as live as the internet onboard will allow it to be Emerald Princess 15 day full transit Panama Canal cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles.  This first post comes to you from someplace high over Arkansa enroute to FLL.

This is our 20th Princess cruise and the longest we’ve ever taken.  We did a quick repo cruise back on Royal last September Vancouver to San Francisco as a primer since through circumstance (Covid) and land vacations (Hawaii and Europe twice each) we haven't been on a cruise since 2017. While I liked the Royal (with some reservations) I'm glad to be back on a Grand class ship.

Live From The Dawn
Good morning, I am sitting outside The Arts Cafe with a cup of tea and smoked salmon/cream cheese panini for breakfast today.
We sailed yesterday and met 3 nice women at cocktails in Dolce Vita. We had dinner together in Atlantide along with Rebecca, who is one of the International Hostesses. Dinner was very good.
The weather is beautiful as is the ship.

Any questions, I will try and answer.😀

Live: 10 Nights Ultimate Southern Caribbean Cruise on the Celebrity Edge January 13-23
It has been just over 6 months since our Bermuda cruise on the Summit.  Looking forward to being back on the Edge again (last was March 2022) and in the same cabin which we really enjoyed (Sky Suite).  Our last Retreat Host on this ship was Anastasiia and we are hoping we might get her again.  Will be trying out the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach hotel for a couple nights before Embarkation, a first for us.  Making the final packing list, packing our four bottles of wine and making last-minute Amazon orders.  Still polishing out the dining lineup as we need to find out when the Veuve Clicquot dinner is once onboard and will then add a couple Raw on 5 nights.  The excursions are in good order.  Below listed are both by day number and while we have

Diamond - Hawaii Jan 6-22, 2023. Semi Live
I will do my best to do a live report, wi-fi willing.
16 Day Hawaiian Islands and a brief stop in Ensenada on the way home.
Cruise embarkation in San Diego was a bit of a cluster.   The Disney Wonder is also in port and it’s a small cruise terminal and the lines were long.   At least the weather was nice today because it was horrible weather yesterday.
My room is D115 far forward.   I chose it because I like the rock and roll movement of the ship and since I’m cruising as a solo, I can do as I please.

Live from Cape Town: Jan 14-26, 2023. NCL Jade
We are sitting in the airport waiting for our flight to South Africa and what a better way to kill time than to start posting on cruise critic!

We will be on the NCL Jade on  Jan 14th - if KentheCruiser would have stayed on for another B2B this would have been his itinerary (although he would have sailed on Jan 2).  Really enjoyed his review!

Live from Constellation January 13-23, 2023

Background: I'm a fully retired Gen Xer. I started cruising in 1987 and the first 5 cruises were on lines that eventually went bankrupt (Regency, Commodore, and Dolphin). These ships were all in the 20,000 GT range so I do have a historic love for the little gals. I was married onboard the inaugural sailing of Celebrity Zenith in 1992 so Celebrity will hold a special place in my heart. The Zenith was a massive 45,000 GT in it's day, so the Connie at 90,000 gross tons is double her size.

Silhouette LIVE (1/12) w/ Side by Side: A Royal Week on Celebrity and MSC
Hello and Happy New Year CC!

Guess who’s on final countdown to her first cruise of 2023?

That’s right, in 2 more days I’ll fly to Miami to board my favorite Celebrity ship: the Silhouette!

Thanks to booking during a great solo fare sale, I’ll also be doing something that I’ve never done before (and don’t think will be within my cruise budget again for a very long time the way prices are trending): sailing in a Royal Suite!

As they say in the infomercials…but wait, there’s more!

LIVE- Valiant Lady- 1/14/23-1/22/23
Ahoy cruisers! It’s almost time for my highly anticipated 8 night cruise on Valiant Lady. I hope you’ll join me as we fly to Miami (Friday) and set sail to Puerto Plata, San Juan, St. Croix and Bimini. I previously sailed on Scarlet Lady in November, but this is a group cruise with several brand new sailors and one “Carnival only” sailor. We are excited to visit a few new ports (St. Croix is new for me) and hopefully have several catch the “cruising bug”.

*~LIVE REVIEW~* 50x + Cruiser Tries RCCL (Symphony Eastern 7-Night)
Gooood evening ladies and gentlemen! I am new to the Royal Board here but have done several previous LIVE REVIEWS on NCL and Disney.

I have had the privilege to have cruised more then 50+ times on NCL, Disney & Carnival but this week I am onboard the BEAUTIFUL Symphony Of The Seas. We will be on a 7-night cruise heading to St. Thomas, St. Maarten & Perfect Day at Coco Cay.  I will take you all along with me on my journey this week and point out all the highlights about this ship and destinations. Also, I will let you know as a veteran cruiser with other lines how Royal “stacks-up”… what’s better, what may not be as good in my opinion or maybe just different.

(hopefully) Live NCL Spirit Sydney to Auckland
A bit of background: I was originally booked on a similar cruise 12 months ago but Australia and NZ weren't quite ready for cruising so I've been waiting quite a while for this trip. It's a 12 night cruise the first half will be mostly sea days crossing the Tasman then up the east coast of New Zealand to Auckland.
I'm travelling solo in a balcony cabin.
I'll try to post at least daily but if you don't hear from me for a while there's probably one of three reasons:

Live from MSC Divina YC 01/13/23-01/16:/23
We booked this cruise one week ago when we saw the projected weather for our land based weekend vacation did not look great.

We arrived last night on a flight that was on schedule from the western US.  We left our hotel at about 10Am. We arrived at the YC white tent about 10:40am. The porter grabbed our bags and the escort/butler quickly got us on board the ship by 11am.

Today begins a too-short four day voyage to Princess Cays and back. But this trip is 80s Themed!

Arrived at the port at 9:45 to a short line.  It was a short wait and the doors opened at 9:55.

LIVE South Pacific (Fiji, Samoa, American Samoa and Tonga) - Eclipse, twelve nights 14 January
A few of us, well more like a couple of thousand of us, have decided to take a wee jaunt up to the South Pacific from Auckland and give the Eclipse a change of scene from the majestic scenery of New Zealand.
I thought I’d use the occasion to have a go at doing my first LIVE. Given that we all choose to cruise in different ways and look for different experiences in the ports that we visit, I have put out a call to the members of our Cruise Critic Roll Call to join in (and anyone else who cares to drop by).
