  1. We have learned to accept P&Os version of dynamic pricing, which they apply when demand is high, so maybe regular pub goers will also be prepared to pay more at busy times.
  2. We got one every day on Sky and I certainly did not amend any defaults.
  3. Where was the last local restaurant you visited that had the same number of covers that a cruise ship MDR has?
  4. I have only cruised once with the app and a medallion, and I agree both have advantages, the app makes it easy to see your on board spend, and it can be handy to check things if you forget your patter, and the medallion must be great for families to check the whereabouts of everyone, and it's useful for wheelchair pushers to be able to take their time reversing into the cabin, especially as Princess has not yet joined the 21st century and installed automatic doors for accessible cabins. However on our next cruise I am definitely not using the Dine My Way MDR booking, that is just too silly, we will turn up when we fancy at the MDR of our choice and request a sharing table, and hope we get interesting table companions, like we used to in the good old Anytime dining days.
  5. Thinking of anniversaries, it is our 58th anniversary today, unfortunately since 2001 the date has become rather notorious.
  6. Not in the Canaries, but possibly in Cadiz, but only while in port.
  7. Probably spot on David, round Britain cruises sell well for Princess, but mainly to Americans, most Brits want Med sunshine for their holidays. P&O might be able to fill Aurora or Arcadia with an odd round Britain cruise, but not Britannia or even Ventura. Never understood why they cancelled Baltic cruises and replaced them with round Britain ones, probably if they had included more ports than the 5 our cancelled Britannia cruise ended up with, they might have been more popular.
  8. Yes there is a shuttle, it takes you from the ship to the main street just outside the port.
  9. We have had a little rain but it hardly wet the roads or pavement, I wish we could have some thundery rain, it is still far too hot and sticky.
  10. 19 deg here ar present and beginno to cloud over, but the inside temp is still 26 deg, and the bedroom was 28 deg last night. Hopefully it will start to cool down after today.
  11. Every cruise line operates the same system, and charges more for what they perceive as better placed cabins.
  12. Nor me, but while they are still there it keeps the upward price pressure off the other ships in the fleet.
  13. I think if P&O do complete the promised freshen up of both Aurota and Arcadia, and if they can continue to achieve premium prices and full ships, then I guess both might have up to a further 10 years of life left in them.
  14. Indeed and asking us to believe it was 32 deg in Sunderland is really stretching reality. 😉😇
  15. P&O promised new 32" widescreen TVs in all the old ships at their next refit back in 2015, and that's not happened yet, so I wouldn't hold your breath.
  16. But the Prom deck cabins are hard to sell, so maybe that's why P&O are letting you book these at the early saver price?
  17. It is Sindhu where you pay a small upfront, charge, I think its £10, which is then credited against your final bill, plus you get a discount on each item, not sure if its 10% or 20%.
  18. My May 24 cruise is still blue line, and yet my July cruise this year cruise was green, and on both cruises I will have to pick up the medallions at the port, because it's Southampton and I am in the UK.
  19. Don't shout it too loud, just in case the Princess management read CC and decide to increase the Premier cost.
  20. Where is this light, is this the one that you activate if you get out of bed? If so I found it rather useful when we were recently on Sky Princess.
  21. At the design stage they could have made the dining rooms bigger, which is what I am assuming @Dermotsgirl is suggesting.
  22. Yes I am sure they could have possibly kept Britannia in Palma for longer, however that would have resulted in 3600 passengers due to sail on her next cruise being inconvenienced, as opposed to the 321who were disembarked. What would you have done if you had been in charge of the arrangements?
  23. I am not defending them, I was querying why you put your faith in a profit making middle man, which have often been accused of over charging.
  24. But are you paying the lowest price possible?
