  1. Interesting that they are giving printed bios again. They stopped them for a while when cruising resumed.
  2. We sailed on Edge in a PH when cruising resumed. We had a great time but there were only 900 guests onboard. The only time Luminae was crowded was the last night, don't know why we just didn't go to a specialty that night. We liked the PH except for the balcony. It's long and narrow which made it awkward when we had some people in for a party. The overhang did not bother us. Service was great throughout the ship, we tried all the specialty restaurants. Our butler served us a off menu Indonesian meal in our suite, at his suggestion. The Retreat Lounge did not seem very intimate. We didn't use the sun deck much. Edge compared favorably with the S class ships so we are open to booking either S or E class depending on price and what we perceive as value. I think you will like your experience.
  3. Did you need a replacement or did they just give you a new card? Who was your butler and the bartender in Michaels club?
  4. I think it is unfair that solo cruisers have to pay for 2 beverage packages and 2 WiFi connections. I'm not so sure about the gratuities.
  5. We sailed on Edge when cruising first resumed. We got a move up from a RS to a PH. Even the balcony in the PH was disappointing so I'm pretty sure we will be disappointed with our upcoming RS balcony. Other than that we liked Edge, especially the dining options. The ship only had about 900 passengers but the retreat was fully booked. Thinking about what we want to book next we're leaning towards another E class ship but will certainly boon S class if the price is right for the suite we want.
  6. @Oceangoer2If you cancel you would get the FCC back as a FCC. The rest of the deposit would be refunded provided you are outside of the final payment date.
  7. You should be able to drop off luggage then park. The porters will not be watching to see where you go. We're out of T29 this time and not looking forward to it, even though we don't drive to the port.
  8. We've done a few B2B's and have always gotten a $50 per cruise credit against the cabin cost, not an OBC. When we did it we had to ask for it.
  9. We are on Reflection for New Year's. The shore side concierge is Edwin, just talked to him yesterday.
  10. I did this the 1st couple of times in Lunimae on our shared cruise on Edge. The server very quickly learned my tastes and also used hot pads. It became a standing joke but should not have been necessary.
  11. We don't like to pre schedule morning coffee. We confirm with our butler on embarkation day that we'll be calling in the morning when we are ready for a pot of coffee and maybe fruit or pastries. So far that's worked. On our last cruise I think he was lurking outside our door waiting for the call.
  12. It is the butler's job. As I said if he/she is not available someone will answer the phone and cover. Just make sure to give a nice additional gratuity at the end of cruise if you feel you were a bother, or just because of good service.
  13. We've always had room service delivered by the butler. When he/she has been off duty there is someone covering. Even when we've arranged a small party and our butler was not available someone covered. If you call your butler and he/she is not available the covering butler will answer the phone.
  14. Just my opinion and comments for what they are worth. Don't count on any priority with dining reservations. Not even sure what a "Main specialty restaurant" is. Is it the MDR, or a specialty restaurant? The concierge service is meh. Sparkling wine, so so. You can get fresh fruit from room service or the buffet. We've always found the pears to be no where close to ripe, bananas over ripe. Just ask your cabin attendant for a different pillow. Unless it is an M class ship the cabins are no bigger. Whey do you need a cabin to sleep 4 if there are only 2 of you in the cabin? There is no guarantee you would get both upgraded. What if your kids do and you don't? Food for thought.
  15. Possible but might be a PITN for the bartender. You can always go to guest relations and get ones.
  16. WOW, you make him work long hours. We give ours time off once we get from the airport to the mansion and from the mansion to the port.
  17. We don't drive to the port, we take a taxi to the airport.
  18. We always use a porter. My days of wheeling heavy luggage when I don't have to are over.
  19. Did you book via an email? If so and you have the confirmation that your bid was received you can go through the link and see the status.
  20. I have always seen that you can get a sea pass for key only use once on board. That way you can stay as booked but sleep where your want.
  21. Pre-dinner drinks start with pre-lunch drinks. Even though we sail in suites I would not book without the all inclusive if it was not included in suites.
  22. You're lucky you got a suite a week ago. They have been sold out for months. Every once in a while when checking for a higher suite I've seen a suite pop up. You must have gotten the last one that showed up. I think it was a SS. Perhaps more will show up when new itineraries are released.
  23. I just had to log into the app again and did not see any breakfast menus for any restaurant.
  24. No suite guests have Luminae for lunch on embarking. They cannot go to the MDR.
