  1. We had great luck with them. We had to cancel two cruises (b2b) 3.5 years ago after I was injured. We had AON through RCI. They were very easy to work with. My Dr (orthopedic surgeon) provided a letter stating why I could not travel and we filed and were totally refunded in a few weeks. For this year, we bought an annual policy through Allianz mainly for medical and evacuation coverage as we're less concerned with an interrupted trip and it is cheaper than buying insurance through RCI for the 3 cruises we have booked. Also, search this site, there are several threads about insurance.
  2. Yes. Normally the reason is because either RCI no longer uses that particular provider or has deemed the excursion not good enough to keep or the excursion provider no longer offers it. We had one cancelled for some random reason only to have it reappear again later as available.
  3. They do not treat b2b's as one continuous cruise. They are two separate cruises. We had one leg of our b2b cancelled for April 2024 on Vision. We had booked a 12 night and an 8 night. They cancelled the 12 night for maintenance. The only way to make it a b2b was to book the other 8 night that was available on the other side of the 8 night we already had booked so we did and were able to get the same cabin, but we're now doing the same basic cruise twice, with I think one different port. It happens and BTW, being Diamond doesn't change any of their rules. We're D+ but never think they owe us anything more than anyone else. Also, they have had non-refundable deposits for several years. You want the cheaper cruise, you book non-refundable.
  4. We're on EN in April and they do a Pinn event in the VCL and rope off an area as the DL and CL are the level above. We're back on Jewel for a Quebec City b2b out of NJ in Oct/Nov so we'll see what they do then. I imagine there will be a lot of Pinns onboard for that itinerary since it's not offered very often.
  5. Baltimore enforced it for all our cruises last year. We're going out of Baltimore again in April so I'll look as we walk by to the suite entrance 🙂
  6. That's how Jewel normally does it. Overflow for D and above and another app buffet set up on the dance floor area that isn't private.
  7. By that logic you shouldn't wear any perfume as you're going to meet people everyday who don't like certain scents. Thinking about others works both ways.
  8. Mine still shows on my upcoming cruises on the website, but as I said we got an email notification. Others on Jewel on the 9 Oct cruise (one before our b2b) also got it. I expect we'll see more.
  9. Our one time in BH, we went to Acadia on Ollies Trolley and then came back and walked to a local restaurant and had blueberry pie for dessert (yum). I can't eat shellfish so no "lobstah" for us. Boston we've been to years ago with friends when we lived in RI for a few months and saw all the major sights and then we were there about 4 years ago on Anthem and did a tour and had lunch at Faneuil Hall. Nothing really for us to see there that we haven't already. I just love how quaint BH is.
  10. Just got notified that our b2b on Jewel starting Oct 20 will not be going to Bar Harbor on either leg, but we'll go to Boston instead. I thought the limits weren't going into effect until 2024.
  11. Also, there may be a reason that that was the earliest time. Our Jewel cruise this past Nov was the first after the TA. They had CG inspections and the earliest time was 12 or 1230 (can't remember). Boarding didn't start until almost 12.
  12. Ask yourself this question. Why do you think they have boarding times?
  13. But, smoke detectors can be set off. We've done bridge tours where it's been mentioned that the shower steam can set them off and has.
  14. Formal night is never on the last night as people are packed or in the middle of packing. It should be night 6.
  15. Well, you are in FL. In VA, they are still required in all medical settings. I fully support no masks and have, but everything from Dentists to Dr's to imaging centers and hospitals all require them. My DIL is an RN in a GP's office and they still wear them as INOVA requires it.
  16. I watched a guy walk into Home Goods on Saturday with his hand curled around something. As he got to the door to enter he vaped and then put his hand by his side. Is it really so hard to leave it in the car while you shop? Heaven forbid that he is separated from it for 1/2 hour or so.🙄
  17. LOL. Sounds like the OP went back in time. The reps really are just reading off the info they are given. Problem is, that rep sounds like they have an old script. If anything, with the cancellation of the "emergency" by the President in May, masking won't be required anywhere anymore such as Dr's offices as it currently is. There's always a few people wearing masks. At church yesterday out of a few hundred people, I saw two wearing masks. A year ago, there would have been 50+.
  18. Fish is prepped ahead of time. I doubt you can get a plain salmon just because that's how you want it. People with true food allergies and medically required dietary needs normally have to select their meals the night before so the chef is prepared. In that case, I'm sure they'd prep salmon for those individuals without the crust if there was an issue with the ingredients, such as with the cheese or gluten. I'm allergic to shrimp and I let the wait staff know the first night. I'm not anaphylactic so I don't order shrimp dishes and the waitstaff knowing can let me know if there is any in a dish. No need to make other changes. At the cheers with an officer lunch on Jewel, the filet came with shrimp so I just asked for it to be left off which they gladly did and more than likely will do so in the future as that's not the same as ordering "off menu".
  19. Baltimore does. They also have a separate entrance for Key, Pinn and suites. Since we always stay in a JS, we go in that entrance, but we pass by the regular line to get to the door and they have signs for times and they do check.
  20. Who isn't guilty of going at least once for a free glass of champagne lol? We only went once and didn't buy anything. Don't get me started on the "art" onboard.
  21. Not really. They use staff that is already being paid a salary so no extra cost there. The "gifts" have dwindled to basically nothing. Generally, they send one activities staff member.
  22. Why on earth would anyone need an email to know this was an IT mistake? I knew immediately. I just started this thread because I thought it was hilarious and wanted to see how many others have received it. I didn't call, anyone on here willing to say they did? You really seem to want an apology.
