With very early/inaugural sailings, it is common for things to go awry. Problems with the ship, the crew, the procedures, etc. are basically the norm until things get sorted. I like "new" ships but I usually give it a few months before I sail on a new ship. All lines can have these early sailing problems. Wonder OTS worked for you but people who sailed Harmony OTS on the early sailings might still be complaining. Those issues were sorted out just as other ships on other lines usually sort out their problems. MSC Seaside (first ship in the class) had a sewage problem that took months to correct. I sailed after the problem was fixed. Compounding the problem with MSC is that MSC doesn't seem to have a standard operating procedure to deal with issues nor does MSC have a consistency that guests can rely upon. A guest might have a great cruise on one MSC ship but have a bad cruise on a sister ship. It happens. Food can differ from ship to ship, week to week, or even day to day. On a different video, I saw my Meraviglia butler on Seascape. I've never had a bad butler on any line/ship but I will be more than happy if I get the same butler on Seascape. I would rack this up as a "bad cruise" but since it is the first MSC experience for the OP, it probably feels like a deal-breaker.

Silver loyalty drink pkg discount
Two Wheels Only replied to asmit4's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
"Unlimited Open Bar Package discount is applicable when purchasing the Unlimited Open Bar Package. Discount is per person, for qualifying Latitudes guest(s) depending on their Latitudes Tier." The 20% that you pay when taking the promo is based on the regular price, not the discounted price. -
I'll give you credit for spelling the acronym correctly (HIPAA not HIPPA) but I believe that Bermuda is under PIPA (Personal Information Protection Act).

3 cabins, different perks.... suggestions?
Two Wheels Only replied to kismetique's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Is this an option?.... https://www.ncl.com/priority-access-faq -
It's possible that they found out that there was a plumbing problem or an A/C problem with the stateroom after it had been assigned to you. NCL might have to wait on parts or wait for the time to fix the problem. It's better to move and not have to deal with the problem.

It's probably best to speak with the Maître d' as soon as you board. -

On the US site, I was able to see Yacht Club stateroom categories and stateroom choices if I pasted... "/cabin-location" after the last "....NewCruise=true#" in the URL of the Guest Information page. (To select the type of Yacht Club stateroom) ...and stateroom choice if I pasted... "/cabin-number" after the same "....NewCruise=true#" in the URL of the Guest Information page. (To select a particular stateroom in the selected type) Basically, when the site forces you to the Guest Information page, overwrite the "/passengers-data" in the URL. If you can get to the stateroom type, you'll probably be able to select a particular stateroom. It doesn't always work and sometimes the orange box will pop up. I'm only looking at dates that I already have booked so I only know which staterooms are booked. I didn't go all the way and actually book but if someone wants to book, they can give it a try.

It's a website problem that popped up last week. I'm (not) surprised that it hasn't already been fixed.

This is Encore 11641 (IB).... "These Inside Staterooms are the most affordable way to cruise. They include two lower beds that convert into a queen-size and additional bedding to accommodate one or two more guests. Sleeps up to four."

Is there any dress code at all in the dining room?
Two Wheels Only replied to ontheweb's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
No, not on embarkation day. They understand that some people don't get their luggage until later. -

T-shirts are fine except for the few restaurants that ask that men wear a collared shirt. The ship's dailies will specify which restaurants for your particular ship/cruise are "smart casual". -

The ship's dailies will give the specifics for your cruise but jeans can be worn in any NCL restaurant. There can be restrictions as far as the length, condition, and location of the jeans... "...jeans that are overly faded, with holes or tears and worn below the hips are not permitted in main dining rooms or specialty restaurants." ...but otherwise, jeans are fine. https://www.ncl.com/ca/en/cruise-faq/what-clothes-should-i-pack -

Things change (new NCL levels added, for ex.) and MSC sometimes changes the match criteria so what was once higher might now match to silver instead of gold, gold instead of diamond, etc.
