Bribes are more the modus operandi of Royal. Carnival prefers cruisers who cruise because of the brand and not because of bribes.
Princess still counts sea days or number of cruises towards loyalty levels. You can get to the highest loyalty level of Princess with fewer sea days than it takes to reach Platinum on Carnival. That's plenty of incentive.
Just more of the Free At Sea fraud - the price of the "freebies" and more are already built into the fare. and further insult when they tack on 20% gratuity.
There certainly are links between "420" and behavior modification including paranoia and aggression. Probably not as much as alcohol, but also not as well studied.
The point was really you know the risks and no honest lawyer would attempt to sue Carnival when you knew better. If you did, don't be surprised if they counter-sue.
If you see the ground getting closer, don't depend on anything to keep you from hitting it, if it wasn't designed to do so in the first place.
I'd argue is Carnival is mass market geared toward novice cruisers. Change doesn't just happen to cruise lines, but to society as well. Carnival has to adjust for that.
To be honest there have always been whiners and complainers and they are more vocal than satisfied customers in any industry. The good old days were never as good as some remember. But you are correct - improvements are never given as much corresponding praise as changes some perceive negatively.

In general, suction grab bars are not ADA compliant and you have to be careful how and where you try to mount them.
I would think you would be liable for any damages to a standard cabin, including ripping the plumbing out or damaging the walls. You seem to be aware of the risks.
It would not eliminate, but will help.
Restricting to VIFP levels? Nah. A few issues... With all the free cruises given out - the recipients really have nothing to lose. They will just move on to another line if they get banned. But they are at the highest levels on down
Then there would be the incessant whining by some on the cusp of a different level or will cross over on a cruise or a family divided by VIFP levels, or or...
Carnival is too wishy washy on rules as it is. Best to make a black and white rule and be done.
