  1. The attendants at the Living Room say that “Everyone is asking for them!” I’m wondering if pistachios have gotten too expensive?
  2. Onboard now. The pistachio raisin rolls have been removed from the menu. So disappointed!!!!!
  3. Are you at different Captain’s Club levels? That could account for the “Select,” as it is the name of a level.
  4. I’ve been doing this for many years, well before COVID. I still instinctively cough into my elbow, even when wearing a mask. Coughing into a hand is disgusting, but I suppose it’s potentially better than not covering at all.
  5. We sailed past the Viking Jupiter whist on a fjord cruise today. I look forward to one of those raisin pistachio rolls when we board in a couple of days.
  6. In Chile, we had our bags X-rayed/scanned in the terminal as we exited the ship for the day to go ashore. They were looking for fruit. I know we have experienced this in at least one other port. I think it was Hilo, Hawaii. The danger of parasite transfer is a very real. It is important to respect the places we visit.
  7. If you have Captain Leo (whom I've had for each of my 3 Eclipse cruises), his announcements are actually worth listening to. He's an excellent communicator. He gives great talks on sea days, as well. Life is Beautiful!
  8. To me, this is absolutely silly. Customers should be able to make purchases online when logged in and have their discounts automatically applied. This is the case on countless websites, and I don't get why X doesn't do it that way. It seems that programming the site to apply the appropriate discount would be far more cost-efficient than having customer service agents do it. Those agents should be helping with things that don't make sense to have on the consumer end. Wait times would be shorter if the agents' time could be focused just on the more complicated stuff. I'm obviously missing something, maybe the agents do additional upselling when customers call? I've never called.
  9. There is currently a movie in theaters called "Nope." I haven't seen it. My young adult kds have. I'm just going to assume it's about this particular cocktail, and I am not going to ask further and have my delusions debunked.
  10. Same here. PapaFej will ask, "Anything interesting on the boards today?" He actually 'knows' a few of y'all by screen name.
  11. Both my hubby and I have access to track all of our Air Tags on our iPhones and my laptop as well as his iPad on our shared iCloud account. If you only have separate iCloud accounts, only one of you will be able to track each tag.
  12. Big Brother is watching... and LLP is listening.
  13. We had an overnight layover in Helsinki and had checked the bags in at Stockholm all the way to LAX. It was very comforting to see our bags showing at our gate before we'd even left the lounge.
  14. I kind of doubt that top executive bonuses are an expense being cut. I could be wrong.
  15. If the pattern continues, 15% off each 50% of a passenger. Sorry. I'll see myself out.
  16. Hubby is a retired fire investigator. The vast majority of fires he investigated involving deaths were caused by smoking. The rest were candles. His final fire death was a 12 year-old girl, trapped in her home and screaming via 911 for help until she was overcome. Hubby heard it all. Mom's boyfriend didn't properly dispose of his cigarette. Banning smoking on balconies is fine by us. So is reporting it for the safety of eveyone onboard.
  17. Yes. A $1000 bid has the weight of a $1010, $1020, $1030, $1040, or $1050 bid, depending on CC level. Edited to add: the cynic in me thinks this is a way to get people to increase the amount they're willing to bid. "Hmmmm, I'm Select level, and my multiplyer is low, I guess I'd better bid more to compete against someone at a higher level."
  18. <<<<<<<< thinking: my hubby gets up at 5:45, despite complete silence... If there's noise above me, nbd. Maybe I can get one of those move ups the rest of y'all don't want?????
  19. At the risk of casusing strife: I have had the very good fortune to visit every US state at least 2 times, most 6 or more, many a dozen or more times. I have had excellent food in both NC and TX, I have had far more superb food in NC than in TX, even though I've been to TX more times. Carry on.
  20. Last (northern hemisphere) fall, we did two Alaska cruises, one on Celebrity, and one on Princess. Everything went right on X, much went wrong on Princess. We missed 3 of our 4 ports, due to weather (they were sailing much later than normal, in their efforts to get back to cruising). Each time we slowed down or lost a port, Princess threw OBC at us. We ended up with a ridiculous amount! They also put all Alaska merch on a 75% off sale, as it was the last AK cruise of the season (and last since 2019). We bought 4 Princess AK jackets, a bunch of Princess AK mugs, shot glasses, a couple of bottles of good booze, etc. AND a Princess collapsable rolling suitcase to carry them home in. My over 21 kids enjoyed the shot glasses, and all enjoyed the mugs and jackets. Christmas was so easy!!! We had an extra night of specialty dining, too. Princess also gave us a 35% FCC based on the low fare we had paid. That went toward our circumnavigation of Australia in October of next year. Between FCCs, gift card bonus offers, and gift cards received as actual gifts when PapaFej retired, we are paying about $0.37/$1.00 fare on that cruise. I salute you for your creative Christmas shopping!!!
  21. We did Santiago (San Antonio) to San Diego in 2019. It was tremendous! If you needed any encouragement to do it, consider yourself encouraged.
  22. He called himself Roxtar, or something like that. It definitely struck us as a self-given moniker. He was truly dreadful. Unless he has comprimising photos of an executive at X or RCI, I can't imagine why they keep him around. The rest of the crew and staff were very good or excellent.
  23. They might sell more Premiere packages if the specialty dining were two per 7 day segment. My next Princess cruise is 28 days. I've taken a couple as short as 3 days. I might be willing to do it on a 3 day cruise, but i certainly would not on a long one. Our most recent cruises were on Azamara. Our benefits such as laundry and specialty dining renewed after 7 days, which made a lot of sense to us.
  24. I do that, too. Then I open the marketing page in a separate window and double check before submitting.
