  1. According to Princess: yes. $5 is for stateroom telephone orders only
  2. Put on your Spock hat. Look at what PCL has done. You do agree to this point that using Ocean Now on the Princess App incurs a 1-time charge for delivery to wherever. You also agree that phoning RS incurs a delivery fee. It is illogical that using the cabin TV to place a food/drink order is somehow going to bypass the new service fee policy. The only way I see to bypass a service fee is to visit the venue or bar and place/collect your own order. Or hail a passing waiter All you have to do is remember that Ocean Now app looks the same ordering on the TV as on your phone. Just think of the TV as a big computer screen .... it's the same system.
  3. Tried to see what it would cost to upgrade and I can't get in. I know it is supposed to be 60 a day but wanted to see if that is really what it is. Used to website being down on weekends but it's Tuesday
  4. The TV uses Order Now part of the app so you still need to activate that ($14.99). Room service charge is for phone orders
  5. I only use room service to trade my minibar & order elite tea .... both Captain Circle benefits & nc per my CVP (friend dbl checking that in October, I go in November). I will use Order Now multiple times as I love the greek salad & key lime dessert while sitting in the piazza. So yeah JMHO worth it
  6. Alfredos is now a casual dining restaurant with a fixed price of $14.99 for 3 dishes or a la carte at $5-12 Alfredos 1.pdf
  7. I pick E403-E433 as I really don't care about obstructions below my room look at 'obstruction' from Promenade Deck by desk. And actually E425 deck was larger
  8. As a standard fare cruiser it is to my advantage to activate the Order Now button on the app or TV and skip the room service ordering on the phone.
  9. Oh my!! So they only want my cash if it's clean, brand new, never used bills? Good to know
  10. Bowing out of this .... I will do what I personally feel is right. Back to white envelopes (and yes, I have assigned table / HW / waiter / asst waiter onboard)
  11. YES!! I love eating in our "no tipping zones." But then employer provided health insurance & 401K retirement policy is mandatory (ok, its just match to 3% but something). Wages are bad but no one forces them to work there (minimum wage $18.07 per hour for all employees, regardless of age or tipped status)
  12. Are you sure? PCL website says: Yes they include all those who directly draw compensation & bonuses from PCL. At the very least my CA do not stay with the personnel on the ship I'm on and certainly not with anyone I interact with. So don't those I interact with benefit more from direct tips??
  13. Don agree with that thinking....I am okay with the pool but not the fleetwide deal. No question I would rather pull it off and directly tip those that have made my week (or more) a great one. This is a real game and apparently all cruise lines operate this way? My issue is "fleetwide" which means everyone who works for PCL from laundry to CEO. Does that mean it is only general revenue headed to salaries & bonus (for all inc C-Suite)? So I'm pretty sure that I shouldn't be assessed CA in Australia just because I'm an American. How do I get them removed & tip directly?
  14. Correct Or you could just order it as part of your breakfast order as early as I think 6-630?? Dunno. Not up until 7
  15. Yes but Slice pizza isn't worth the calories to me. Prefer a crisp crust not a floppy one
  16. I switch out for a bottle of wine with my steward. Also had a nice chat with my CVP and she stated that trading minibar & elite tea did not incur the $5 room service charge as they were Captain Circle benefits Will know for sure in October .... or next week if someone tries & posts
  17. Hope USPS comes through, but if not a Medallion will be available at port that syncs to all info you have loaded on app. Informeddelivery.usps.com will tell you when it will be delivered.
  18. Hoping someone on a cruise after the updates posts the menu with a la carte pricing (but I've got $29 SD credit to use up)
  19. Oops. Missed post #576. So it's option #2. Paying $15 on my 2-3 week cruises as that works best for me. Also noticed that my DMW changed in app yesterday. That's where Ocean Now is now.
  20. I'm getting confused. Is it: $14.99 to activate order now + $5 for each order irrespective of where / how placed (which is what I thought it was going to be) OR $14.99 to activate order now but no additional charges in app; $5 for phone in room service orders (inc Elite Tea & minibar swap); nc for minibar swap with steward (that's how I do it) & order on TV I use order now + must call RS to get Elite Tea so that's now $5?
  21. Yes @yeoman there are inconsistent individual cases. You've got an upgraded pkg, I've got 125 OBC + Medallions mailed to my home ($10 value) = GREEN STATUS!!!! Standard cruiser gets Green Status (plus I was complaining to DS today who cruises RCCL and he just said standard procedure for other lines)
  22. It's directly from the website. Encouraging you to look it up yourself @yeoman there isn't inconsistent messaging on Princess.Com, it's actually incredibly clear. I'm not on FB so the only way I know what's coming down the pipeline is thru cruise critic & rechecking Princess news releases
