  1. On one of our Carnival cruises, they did team trivia with the men against the women. Only the captain of the winning team got awarded a ship on a stick. I was the captain for the first one; the others on the team tried to vote me as the captain again since I was the main answerer of the questions, but it was not allowed. The captain gave the answers, and one time I had to basically spell out an answer for him. BTW, the men won all 4 contests. The assistant CD doing the trivia said no team had ever before won all the contests. On the plane back from Fort Lauderdale, we recognized a woman and her son from our cruise sitting in front of us. The son looked back at us and said, "You're the trivia guy.".
  2. Not if you drink very little and DW not at all since alcohol is contraindicated with a prescription med she takes.
  3. Does anyone know to what extent this is actually enforced?
  4. I hate to inform you of this, but Alex's cancer finally did him in. So, it should be Ken, I'll take things that didn't happen for $1000. (and I say Ken and hopefully not Mayim.)
  5. I did and was successful, though it was with Princess, not HAL. It is I believe the same program. It was also way, way before Covid.
  6. Good information, thanks. DW actually (though not lactose intolerant, but wanting to avoid cholesterol) does use almond milk (regular unsweetened) in her coffee.
  7. The only thing I would add to what you wrote is that in the summer the walking in places like Italy and Turkey will be in very hot conditions. Don't forget to have water!
  8. Yes, both Pfizer and Moderna have new vaccines combining their old vaccines with new about to be approved. i believe Pfizer's approval is for 12 and over while Moderna is for 18 and over.
  9. Book an excursion with the cruise line. They give their own excursions priority.
  10. DW would be ecstatic if NCL uses British Air for our Prima cruise next year. Her late father was an executive with British Air. I had asked our TA for British Air before he informed us that NCL chooses.
  11. The one thing I have seen an officer give is his phone number on the ship.
  12. 👍 That sounds good to me as we are using it to fly to London next summer from Newark. I assume they were all non-stop on the way back also. (Our's will be from Reykjavik.)
  13. Tallinn is very walkable; you do not need an excursion. We had Rick Steve's book on the area and followed his detailed walking tour. There is so much to do in Stockholm. We found the Vasa Musuem quite interesting, but there is so much else. It is definitely a port where you will have your choice of things to do. Again, you do not need an excursion.
  14. You have that exactly right. I was once on our local school board and asked a teacher what she thought of the open houses. Her reply was "All the wrong parents show up." I know she meant that the ones who really needed to see her to discuss their student's problems were not showing up rather than we saw her the year before when our son was doing A level work in her math class.
  15. The "I wish I had not wasted my time going to see the Little Mermaid group" seems to be growing. LOL
  16. Unfortunately, I would not count on them doing anything to enforce this.
  17. I doubt this will happen, but we are really much closer to Stewart than either JFK or Newark. And the traffic situation is much better going there.
  18. We do not eat meat, but do eat fish. My comment would be that there are a lot of varied fish dishes for dinner, but not many vegetarian offerings.
  19. Rick Steves has called The Little Mermaid the most overrated tourist attraction in the world. I agree with him.
  20. LOL, I think I said much the same thing with a lot less words!
  21. This is the kind of thing that has led the cruise lines to more and more go to non-refundable deposits!
  22. I thought hold usually lasted 3 days.
  23. Our cruise on the Prima is not for almost a year (but it is getting closer especially since we booked the cruise back in 2021). Really, really waiting for reports from those who sail on her. Our TA says he is scheduled to go on the maiden voyage, but probably will not. If he does, I will surely pick his brain for his thoughts on the ship.
