  1. Our TA knows we will be requesting the one day early deviation. He has actually applied for it, but it was too early for them to grant it.
  2. Same here. We have received a small credit a few times, but never an increase. I was under the impression that if there was a small increase, the cruise line ate the charge. I guess that was before they were bleeding money post Covid.
  3. I asked if business was picking up with people now cruising, and he said it was. He was hopeful that he would be able to rehire some of his agents. (He is the President of his company.) He does not have their website working yet, but hopes to. I mentioned some of the things that I have read about on cc such as the airlines mess. (I mentioned that if this was still going on next summer, we might consider cancelling.) I said how I read people called the cruise line who said call the airline. I said how I had read how people then called the airlines who said the cruise line was the TA, call them. He said then they called him, and he has spent a lot of time yelling at airline personnel. He did say that we could be pretty well assured that our Newark flights to London and from Reykjavik would be non-stop I did ask, and he was not sure if the Prima will have an internet cafe. (He did not think so.) If anyone knows for sure, I would like to know that. I asked him to check if there was a price decrease, and since he said he would have to check and get back to me if there was, and he did not, I assume our price did not go down form when we booked way back last year.
  4. Previously when these new muster procedures were being introduced, it was said by those who post on cc who have been employed in the cruise industry that the muster drill was really more for the crew than the passengers. It was the only time that they got to "herd" passengers to where they would have to go.
  5. And that is really the only thing that matters.
  6. Being a vegetarian, I have shed no tears over the steak cutbacks!
  7. Our local Dollar Tree is now a $1.25 Tree. Is it the same everywhere? And watch out for this comparison or Carnival might raise their prices 25%!
  8. I do not think it is still the case post Covid, but this was not unusual before then. For example we were on a Western Mediterranean cruise in 2012 from Barcelona to Barcelona, but there were other passengers whose start and finish were in Rome or Marseilles.
  9. OK, the cruise we were on in which the passports were collected was in the Eastern Mediterranean
  10. Maybe no complaints because the warm chocolate melting cake is just so good!
  11. I am saying they are until they are not. And I did read that Spain and the Netherlands were among the countries still having protocols which is why I posted what about that since they both host several cruises.
  12. Spain and the Netherlands are not on that list. We have had multiple cruises from Barcelona (including one on NCL.) And our Prima Cruise next year includes a stop in Amsterdam.
  13. Yes. I once got help from our state legislator. I had a checking account hacked, and my state refund was supposed to go into an account that was now closed. They were able to get in touch with the state tax department who then had someone contact me. It was changed to our check would be mailed to us. And it was. Also years and years ago, my parents were able to get help from our Congresswoman. Mom needed a passport. She was born in the Ukraine in 1919 and had emigrated with her parents as a toddler. It probably helped that she served as a WAVE (and met my Dad who was in the Navy) during World War II.
  14. Of the exceptions, the Netherlands and Spain account for ports on several cruises.
  15. Usually, that is true, but sometimes ships do hold passports.
  16. But we do not know if they were on a private tour. Actually, probably not if they came back by way of a taxi.
  17. Or, the passengers who missed the ship never returned like poor old Charlie in the Kingston Trio song so they cannot post of their experience.
  18. We actually found that on HAL. DW had sent out some laundry, and thought something was missing. (It was not, just in a different place). IIRC, 3 cabin stewards were immediately in our cabin to see what they could do for her. (Note, this is not at all a criticism of Princess' staff.)
  19. Ok, now I remember. The cruise your way (opposite from our way) is 1 day less. That would be the overnight at the end,
  20. This is one of the reasons that people use TAs. Let them do the telephone holding.
  21. Was I reading this wrong, or does it say across the fleet, but seems to only apply to Carnival cruises, not the other brands operated by Carnival corporation?
  22. I thought the comment on each brand honing in on its own identity to be interesting.
  23. Don't go to NY State; smoking is not allowed. You would be able to lose.
  24. We once saw the cruise director and assistant cruise director on shore in Dublin. We of course recognized them, but even with a small ship, the former Ocean Princess, I really would not expect them to recognize us.
  25. I would hope someone sailing the Prima will post the menu.
