  1. Or, the passengers who missed the ship never returned like poor old Charlie in the Kingston Trio song so they cannot post of their experience.
  2. We actually found that on HAL. DW had sent out some laundry, and thought something was missing. (It was not, just in a different place). IIRC, 3 cabin stewards were immediately in our cabin to see what they could do for her. (Note, this is not at all a criticism of Princess' staff.)
  3. Ok, now I remember. The cruise your way (opposite from our way) is 1 day less. That would be the overnight at the end,
  4. This is one of the reasons that people use TAs. Let them do the telephone holding.
  5. Was I reading this wrong, or does it say across the fleet, but seems to only apply to Carnival cruises, not the other brands operated by Carnival corporation?
  6. I thought the comment on each brand honing in on its own identity to be interesting.
  7. Don't go to NY State; smoking is not allowed. You would be able to lose.
  8. We once saw the cruise director and assistant cruise director on shore in Dublin. We of course recognized them, but even with a small ship, the former Ocean Princess, I really would not expect them to recognize us.
  9. I would hope someone sailing the Prima will post the menu.
  10. I could have wrote the exact same post except it is DW that is the pool and beach person. She also does not like to be pampered. By the end of our first cruise (2002), she said she missed peanut butter and jelly.
  11. Ok, the one after ours. We have an overnight in Reykjavik on our cruise. Does yours have an overnight at any point?
  12. I don't know if this applies everywhere, but Rick Steves also has a tv show. It is on our local PBS from New York City. The episode today was about Italy. Also one can find the books mentioned in previous posts often in libraries.
  13. Yes, meeting different people is one of the attractions of cruising. And one can also learn from people from different cultures among the passengers and the crew.
  14. I can't imagine how stressful it is for TAs as they get stuck with these hold for multiple customers.
  15. Right, though I would not have used the words stuck with, even with the quotation marks.
  16. Same here, plus we, especially DW, sleep better in total darkness.
  17. Which one in August; we are on the one that departs on the 6th. Picked it as it will include our wedding anniversary (actually a sea day between Norway and Iceland).
  18. I think every line has excellent sterwards, but HAL's are the very best.
  19. But, they can get creative once they are in your cabin. DW and I once get a big chuckle out of the towel animal that was wearing DW's sunglasses.
  20. Are you sure of that? I do remember my TA saying he does not get a commission until we are on the ship.
  21. And it is also to prevent a fire. Ever heard of the Star Princess?
  22. I believe it is the Prima doing this first.
  23. I wonder if it is different employees interpreting the rules for obtaining OBC with a "discounted" cruise differently. Some posts that say they were turned down, but then received the OBC when applying again would seem to validate this theory.
  24. But my art teacher DW definitely wants to spend a day in London before the cruise. When we did a cruise out of Dover, we stayed a day in London. We had to take the train to Dover because Princess did not have a transfer from Dover.
