  1. @aimcat I realize you're probably not as desperate now as when you posted on Friday πŸ˜‰, but just wanted to show this Cruisedeckplans popup that shows the 9296 (from your list in the OP) that might help you visualize the differences:
  2. I'm late to the party, but a big THANKS to both of you for posting this great report. 😚 I noticed the guy with the "VOTE FOR PEDRO" T shirt in the background of your photo, and have changed it to show what many of us are thinking LOL!
  3. Ohh I know a girl named "Bambi" who says she'd love to sign up, and has no problem "trying out" this summer. She's sending a photo to keep with her application: *In all fairness though, I thought I should send you a photo without all the filters, etc., just so you'd be aware of what you'd be getting into. Voila, here's the unfiltered "Bambi": So does she move to the top of your list? Hey at least she doesn't eat much. One pillow chocolate daily (x 274) should do it! 😁
  4. Guess cruisemapper could be incorrect but check this: Review of Norwegian Escape deck 13 (Hospital) Medical Center is the NCL Escape ship’s infirmary (onboard hospital) operated by resident doctors/physicians and nurses on 24-hour call duty. Opening hours are between 8 am and 8 pm. The infirmary is equipped with defibrillators, external pacemakers, pulse oximeters, an ECG (electrocardiograph machine), thrombolytic and lab equipment. Treatments at the ship hospital are equivalent to a private doctor’s visit. All treatments and medications are at extra charge. The only exception is Bonine (seasickness medication) also available at no charge at the ship’s Reception (24 hours). Payments are made by the NCL boarding pass. General health insurance policies do not apply, so buying cruise health insurance is recommended. https://www.cruisemapper.com/deckplans/Norwegian-Escape-878/deck13-1412 Or on the NCL Escape pocket guide:
  5. Sadly saying a final "Bon Voyage" to Mr Chemmo. May your many memories made over the years comfort you in this time of sorrow.
  6. I don't know if this will help, but I almost didn't notice mine. Check your emails for one from Celebrity titled "An Exclusive Look at our 2024/2025 sailings" (instead of saying something about your next chance to earn points). When you open that and scroll down the info is posted there. πŸ˜‰
  7. I don't know if this is the correct reason, but someone asked on PTZ twitter (the port webcam people) why it closed and someone else answered "Really bad weather that was making departures with pilots extremely hazardous for the pilots.." Sounds feasible to me - I'm such a klutz I can't imagine climbing that ladder from the pilot boat even when its calm lol πŸ˜‰
  8. I always feel so sorry for the cruisers this happens to. Besides returning for medical emergencies I've been on ships that have returned because of accidents/injuries that happen right after sailing - usually due to falls. JMO one good thing I've noticed is that nobody complains about returning (well at least that I've ever heard). And I agree the cruise lines are wonderful in these circumstances, but can't imagine the person's disappointment after the excitement of boarding only to have to leave again. I hope this cruiser will be OK and can cruise again soon.
  9. Per the Princess board the Majestic Princess in Australia has 800 cases onboard now: https://www.perthnow.com.au/travel/covid-outbreak-looms-on-majestic-princess-cruise-ship-c-8830820.amp?fbclid=IwAR2-X-BZv-uNYkf3sQ4JX4FMVFlBWedsvX2FQj_Tc15PLmhYEtlLosoDON4 https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/travel/cruising-rules RCI's Ovation shows as Tier 1 JMO I agree it's impossible to stop now, but I also don't think anyone is shocked by this news anymore (at least here on CC). By now most (if not all) people cruising are fully aware of the possibility and will still cruise, no matter the numbers. Sailing on πŸ˜‰
  10. ITA try for the SV. Hopefully this picture shows how the porthole window is already "open" at the top. Pretty narrow so the two of you might be a little squished while sitting sideways:
  11. I remember feeling so bad for someone after getting a letter in our stateroom where a person's CPAP machine hadn't made it to the correct room and they were asking everyone to check for it. Hopefully they found it, or that person might have had a big problem throughout their cruise. πŸ™ƒ
  12. The Bird is the word...again. And thanks so much for sharing your words. I know each review takes a lot of time and effort and believe me, it is really appreciated. A great review from BirdTravels = time to book! 😁
  13. Thanks for posting, it is much appreciated - great review with lots of good info (off to watch more!) 😊
  14. OOPS, sorry Mods! 15. FYI if you've never seen them placed on the rocket 😊

  17. πŸ˜‰ Port Canaveral FYI as of 4:00 pm 9/26/22: Current Port Conditions: X-RAY CONDITION "X-RAY" The U.S. Coast Guard Captain of the Port (COTP) has set Port Condition "X-RAY" for Port Canaveral: Sustained gale force winds are predicted within 48hours. Port Canaveral remains open and conducting normal Port operations, but anticipates limited waterside and vessel shoreside Port operations will follow as conditions change. <and> IMPORTANT MARINE NOTIFICATION Port Canaveral has been closely monitoring the progress and track of Hurricane Ian. The U.S. Coast Guard Captain of the Port (COTP) Jacksonville has set Port Condition X-RAY for Port Canaveral as of 4:00 PM Monday, Sept. 26th, and we expect to progress to Port Condition YANKEE by tomorrow (Tuesday, Sept. 27th) evening. Based on current forecasts and storm information, Port Canaveral will receive heavy rain and high winds (Tropical Storm force or greater) as early as Wednesday morning, Sept. 28th. Subsequently, Port Canaveral is notifying all maritime interests that once Port Condition YANKEE is set, ALL vessels under 500 GT – including vessels berthed at marinas located in Port Canaveral – are required to shelter in place. All vessels must double up on mooring lines at berth and take all measures possible to weather proof the vessel. Furthermore, no vessel movements will be allowed in Port Canaveral. Vessel movements will be monitored and violations will be enforced. The situation is subject to change based on the storm’s track and potential impact to Port Canaveral. https://www.portcanaveral.com/About/Severe-Weather-Awareness
  18. 😁 Here's a couple good sites for launch schedules/cancellations: https://spaceflightnow.com/launch-schedule/ https://www.rocketlaunch.live/ And from up the coast here's last nights SpaceX launch from the condo balcony 😊
  19. πŸ˜‰ You can follow Port Canaveral port conditions here: https://www.portcanaveral.com/About/Severe-Weather-Awareness Right now it shows (but usually can/will change quite a number of times): CONDITION "WHISKEY" - The U.S. Coast Guard Captain of the Port (COTP) has set hurricane condition "WHISKEY" for Port Canaveral: Sustained gale force winds are predicted within 72 hours. Port Canaveral is currently fully open and conducting normal Port operations. Hope you have a wonderful cruise with no delays! I'm right up the coast so fingers crossed here too.
  20. cruisedeckplans now has a little "blinker" on the deck plan for two staterooms on Deck 12 (not Haven but Cat SJ and BA) that shows a balcony view (tried to mark in yellow so you can see what I mean by "blinker"): When you click on the blinker it brings up a picture of the balcony - hopefully they will be adding lots more photos soon that will really help people: That said, I'm one of those people who wouldn't mind this (just glad to be on a ship!) but I can understand those who would be disappointed. The only thing that makes me hesitate about the slides is the one that dumps you out in front of the people sitting at tables alongside. It might take me a minute to get my old bones in order to be able to jump up. As a matter of fact, if you ever hear people saying "You go old girl, you can do it!" it might be me LOL πŸ˜„
  21. Such a sad story. This article has more info about the passenger: "A 58-year-old woman who was a longtime employee at Erie's Gannon University was killed in a shark attack while snorkeling with her family in the Bahamas on Tuesday, the university said. Gannon identified the woman as Caroline DiPlacido in a statement released to the university community and the Erie Times-News on Wednesday morning. She was vacationing with her family in the Bahamas, the statement said. DiPlacido, a Millcreek Township resident, was project coordinator in community and government relations at Gannon, according to the university. She graduated from Gannon in 1986 and was hired at the university in July 2009 as a secretary in marketing and communications. In her job as project coordinator, DiPlacido was involved in Gannon's Erie-G.A.I.N.S. initiative, for Erie-Gannon Alliances to Improve Neighborhood Sustainability, and the Our West Bayfront effort to enhance the neighborhood near Gannon, in downtown Erie. "Along with her efforts to further the mission of Erie-GAINS and Our West Bayfront, Caroline was a powerful presence of kindness and friendship to colleagues, students and the wider community and cherished many family ties to Gannon," according to Gannon's statement, from the university chaplain, the Rev. Michael Kesicki. "The news is devastating, and she will be missed. "We pray for Caroline as she crosses over to eternity. We pray for her husband, David, her children, David, Robert and Allison; her mother, Olivia; and her wider family. "Let us remember Caroline with affection and hope." Gannon said the university will hold a prayer service on campus at 3 p.m. Wednesday." https://www.goerie.com/story/news/state/2022/09/07/pennsylvania-woman-killed-shark-attack-snorkeling-with-family-bahamas/65469062007/
  22. Just a friendly guess, but could you have mixed up the year when checking? Because in 2022, the September 10, 2022 sailing is for 7 nights not 6 (returning September 17, 2022), like this on the Carnival site: 7 Days Eastern Caribbean from Port Canaveral (Orlando), FL Mardi Gras Sep 10, 2022 - Sep 17, 2022 In 2023, the September 10, 2023 sailing is 6 nights but the next sailing is September 16, 2023 (not the 17th): 6 Days Eastern Caribbean from Port Canaveral (Orlando), FL Mardi Gras Sep 10, 2023 - Sep 16, 2023 7 Days Western Caribbean from Port Canaveral (Orlando), FL Mardi Gras Cozumel Plus Sep 16, 2023 - Sep 23, 2023 HTH! πŸ˜‰
  23. OP since it shows you're in Ireland you might like this to check out this Celebrity Beyond review posted by a Dubliner ☘️ She mentions they are not "financially well-endowed" LOL
  24. Beautiful! Love the sea but also watching the clouds going across the sky too. Thanks for posting! 😊
