  1. The D+ gifts are still there, wine as well as other options. Don’t fret about losing CL access for diamond plus, as on many cruises, Pinnacles don’t have access either. Both diamond plus, and Pinnacle have access to the diamond lounge. Yes, tours are gone as well. Cheers with the officer is basically the same meal, but the officer doesn’t sit with guests. I hope you enjoy your cruise
  2. Simply enjoy it. Don’t cruise for points, cruise for enjoyment and memories. We started cruising in the mid 1980’s and have seen lots of changes, some good, some not so good. m
  3. I’ve seen the promotion. I had them clean a ring. Of course they want to get you in the store to you buy something. I simply said no thank you and that was the end of it. They were no pushier than any other ship store clerk. m
  4. We’ve occasionally had the taxes/fees go down from the time we booked to the time we sailed. Occasionally we would get some odd amount of onboard credit (usually less than $5), and when we inquired at guest services, they always tell me it was a decrease in the fees/ taxes. m
  5. I think they say something like, “if it’s too good to be true, it’s not.” Mine show no balance as well. However my final payment is due in a few days. I’ll try the back door fix (thanks) to make sure there is no problem. I can imagine some, especially those with multiple cruises, that might get mixed up and miss a final payment date. m
  6. Coffee/continental breakfast in the morning is complementary. Hot breakfast, and orders at other times of the day have an $8 service charge added per order. Cabin Service is once a day for most cabins. Suites have service twice a day There is a “Chops“ fillet, and also lobster on the menu that has an up charge. Those items have been available for a charge for years. m
  7. Make your list BUT be flexible. I had to change a couple of reservations for availability. The only requirement I had was that I did not go to the same restaurant for lunch and dinner. ENJOY m
  8. We found the worst noise in that area was the pool band/screaming microphone games in the late afternoon-till after 5 PM . SUPER loud. m
  9. I would like this. We have eight hours to Port Canaveral, which is doable in one day. The drive to Fort Lauderdale is just a little too much for us. When we sail from there (and we have on Celebrity) it involves flights. m
  10. We visited Bimini recently on a Royal ship. It was nice. M
  11. If you look around, there is little, if any RCCL branding. Perfect for other ships or lines to use the place. Folks on the Celebrity board don't seem upset. In fact, many are hoping that will be the announcement. They often say that X is trying to get younger passengers, sound familiar? m
  12. That show is not part of the reservation system, not sure why. It is a shorter show and super energetic. Go about 30 minutes prior to show time and you should have no problem getting a seat. I am surprised the regular ice show is not offered. If you see it is offered, PLEASE try to catch it. It is amazing. Have a great cruise. M
  13. Amazing (and wonderful) that the person survived. I’m always curious of the circumstances. m
  14. I had a medical issue and worried about the same. I was adamant that I was not leaving the ship without the medical report. I spent at least an hour or more at guest services going up the food chain. It was finally delivered to me the last evening. i’m not one to post on a company’s social media page however, your question/concern might get good results if you post it there. Make sure you get the official Royal Caribbean website, not those sites that look official but are really run by travel agents or others. I hope you get satisfactory resolution. m
  15. There is no dress code, especially for lunch. We dress nicely for dinner every night (casual for us is slacks, polo shirt, sundress etc ) but wore shorts and tops for lunch in Giovani’s. In fact we just put them on over our dry swimwear. You will not be out of place in shorts and a polo shirt. m
  16. Sorry your friend had a reaction. In her case, she should have asked to speak to the head waiter, sent the item back and asked for the proper meal. This is not preference, this is a medical necessity. Further, I probably would have asked for a new set of waiters (Different table) for the remainder of the cruise. There is no excuse for your friend to have become ill. She depended on the staff and they failed her. Depending on one’s allergy, the outcome could’ve been devastating. m
  17. Your chances of being diamond on the second cruise is roughly 100%. 😄. Speak to the the royalty ambassador on the first cruise. He/she will make sure it happens for the second cruise. no problem. congrats m
  18. Recently on Wonder, we received a whole lobster, but it was cut in half. Two large claws, from a much larger lobster, were delivered on a separate plate. We enjoyed it but then again were not raised in New England. We ordered from Hooked on Symphony (years ago, pre-Covid) and honestly can’t remember how the lobster was served m
  19. To simply have no sauce on the platter, no advance ordering is necessary. I do it every night, every cruise. If one needs a sauce prepared salt free (can they do that?), advance ordering would be required. You are spot on - the salt and sugar in the food (and don't forget) drinks makes an impact, and not a good one! M
  20. There is a video of the storm and a chair flying onto the lower pool deck. A family is running towards the door and LUCKILY carrying their young child. The chair flies and lands right on the stroller they are dragging, hitting it so hard it bends the stroller. I've never seen anything like that before. We've been in some bad weather, but this was super scary to watch. M
