  1. You are the first cruise after the dry dock- Enjoy!
  2. I believe a Volendam dry dock is scheduled for late fall 2024
  3. As stated before it is ONboard credit not PREboard credit. A lot of people cancel before final payment. This lets shore excursions know who is really planning to participate.
  4. Rarely use the lounge- love the aft suites
  5. Is the charge to your Medallion or do you need cash/coins?
  6. We are doing a TA on the Island and wondering if they have any of the casual dining restaurants listed in the PLUS package. We couldn't seem to find any of the names listed. Also are the laundromats self-serve with detergent or do we bring some. What is the cost to use? TIA for any help.
  7. We've also found the integrated lounge on the smaller ships has bands that play a much greater variety of music and not the same old sets previously heard. They weren't limited by licensing.
  8. We just got an email that the Christmas markets won't be up yet for the Nov 23 (board Nov 25) Paris to Zurich cruise. They offered a reduction in fare to keep the booking but there was no reduction We have until 2/23 to get refund or keep. Any others on here seeing a fare reduction as promised in the email?
  9. When you have b2b cruises you can’t even book dining on the second cruise until noon on changeover day.
  10. Regarding the no MDR meals, my wife is a picky eater who never has an appetizer and after being on river cruises where large tables are the norm, she dislikes sitting through some people having 2-3 apps before the main meal. We find we can get the same food being served in the MDR and eat at our pace in the Lido. We have enjoyed some dinners in CO on occasion.
  11. We have been on over 20 HAL cruises in the last six years. We have never had a meal in the main dining room, but we would never think of reducing or getting rid of the automatic gratuities. We also give extra tips to some of the Lido staff, CO or PG when we eat there as well as room attendants. We appreciate HAL staff and consider it part of our holiday expenses.
  12. Cabins are going quickly on that 45 day NYC cruise.
  13. Yes, we saved $2000 by using AARP gift cards on a long SA cruise
  14. We've found that reservations usually are available at noon on embarkation day- same if you're on a B2B for the second segment.
  15. No once onboard but saves standing in lines
  16. Just as easy to book PG lunches on the Navigator app
  17. There seem to be fewer and fewer duos that are good together. Lately it's been more misses than hits. Better to have a solo that's good than a lousy duo IMO.
  18. Now open for booking on HAL but why do it on a weekend when PCC’s aren’t available?
  19. Sometimes it's easier to go to the itinerary and then click on Dining on the day you want to schedule the meal. Our June cruise dining options are open.
  20. If you have Kindle Unlimited, you can pay for a month, read as many books as you can and the day before your month ends, download 20 new books and put it on Airplane mode. KU can't delete the books from your Kindle while in airplane mode so you get 2 months worth for the price of one! Do this for all my long cruises.
