So I just did my check-in and they don't have my middle initial in the account but it is on my CC and there is no way to edit the name at the checkin portal. Will I have issues onboard?
If you have a $100 FCD and decide to book a long cruise which requires a $300 deposit, you just need to pay the extra $200. Much better than the $1750 deposit required for long cruises!
If your CC is automatically entered, the AARP site might not recognize it. You usually need to physically enter each digit as well as security code and expiration date. Others have had this issue.
We've been in all categories from Verandahs to Neptunes and when the 2 twins beds are together they always make a king bed- we've never noticed any difference so if that's what concerns you, pay less and get a lower category choosing your own cabin.
We emailed our info this morning for our next 4 cruises (3 in '23 and 1 in early '24) and got email approval this afternoon. We also folded out unnecessary info and blacked out account without any issue.
I'm much happier having the cabins available as soon as boarding is allowed which probably isn't possible if room service is available on disembarkation day!
Have you ever been able to get an upgraded cabin if its current price is LESS than you paid for your lower level cabin? Is it worth contacting our NCL cruise consultant to ask?
We have sailed almost 300 days on HAL since 2018 and have never eaten in the MDR- unless we use Club Orange or the specialty restaurants we eat dinners in the Lido and always are satisfied. The quality is definitely better than NCL as well as the variety.
We always do dummy bookings to see exactly which cabins are open and keep the website open when calling. We used AARP gift cards to pay for the majority of our cruise (saving 10%) and when we got the upsell offer it ended up only costing a few hundred dollars more than it would have been for the original cabin- this was for a 28 day cruise verandah to signature suite. Well worth it!
We always ask for cold water wash and low heat dry on each list and haven't had problems other than sometimes trying to get the iron-on tabs off without ripping out seams on lightweight shirts!
Cost is $25pp/day on 7 day cruises and $15pp/day for longer cruises. The menu is the same as MDR with one extra dinner entree. There is a separate dining room located near the MDR- all indoor seating. One of the best benefits is the cabin upgrade within the same category if availability exists. There is a limit on CO members since all Neptune suites automatically are able to eat there.
Before the cruise, use the gift cards to buy OBC online at your reservation. If you don't spend it all, you will be refunded any leftover on the credit card on file.
