  1. I noticed fewer "Washy Washy" people on the Joy in August. Maybe it was because there is a row of sinks near the doors to the Buffet. We always stopped there to Washy Washy, but they still need to bring back the Washy Washy singers.
  2. This is what I don't want to see happen. The beautiful Observation Lounge was my favorite place on the ship to relax and watch the sea. The four of us ate breakfast there most mornings. The lounge should not be partially taken over by cabins. NO NO NO. And another thing they should consider, the limited amount of elevators were always overcrowded when trying to leave deck 15. Housing more passengers in that area would only increase that problem. Another bank of elevators should be included in the renovation. Also, the main swimming pool is already too small, for the amount of passengers that were on our cruise. That should be rebuilt and greatly enlarged. A dedicated movie room with stadium seats would be a nice addition. When they show films in the Atrium, noise from passersby can be distracting. Royal Caribbean has media room on their ships, where movie goers can watch films in peace. Just my 2 cents worth.
  3. Most of the Dry Dock renovations sound fine, but PLEASE DO NOT ADD CABINS TO THE OBSERVATION LOUNGE AREA. That is my favorite place to sit, relax and watch the world go by. When we were onboard in August 20-30, the Observation lounge was always busy. Years ago Suites replaced the Spinnaker Lounge on the Dawn. They're very nice, i stayed in one, but having a viewing area is important for cruise passengers.
  4. I still think that the Jewel Class ships are where they really hit it right with venue size, and not too many things crammed into a smaller space like on the Prima. Our experiences have been on the Dawn,Jewel Class, away class ships, as well as the Sky & Spirit. No good if they have to reduce the size of dining venues and offerings.
  5. Someone who made a travel video about staying in the Haven, complained about annoying children. He recommended for next time, a regular balcony cruise, and signing up for Vibe. No kids, and you'll save money.
  6. I don't want the Broadway style productions to be replaced with comedians or magicians. That would be a big NO for me.
  7. Even though the Dawn lacks the spinnaker Lounge and the Great Outdoors, we still enjoyed the many cruises we had on her. There are tables and chairs on the pool deck where we brought food from the buffet to eat, The Pool deck also has stadium seating, The windows at the back of the Bliss Lounge are no substitute for the old Spinnaker, which was converted into suites.
  8. He might be able to go to a Federal Office, and get passports processed in one day.
  9. A balcony for an April TA might be chilly. I'd be happy with an ocean view, and when I want to sit outside, I'll go to the pool deck, the Great Outdoors, or somewhere.
  10. When the four of us were on the Joy on August 20, we tried to book the free latitudes Behind the Scenes Tour. We were told that it was all booked up, but that they might run another one, and they would leave a message in our cabins. Sadly, that message never came, but they were advertising the paid one for $120.00. That's a ridiculously high price. No way. Another thing that was taken away from the returning guests is the Latitudes Party. It used to be fun, with music, and drawings for prizes. There are no more prizes and the party is a big NOTHING.
  11. They provided Coffee Mate with our coffee maker in our cabin, but I was able to get milk or cream from the dispenser in the buffet.
  12. All that we send to the laundry is underwear, P.J.s, and Tee shirts. Things that can withstand a rigorous washing. Fine washables get washed by hand in the bathroom sink, and hung to dry on the clothesline in the shower stall.
  13. I am sapphire so I am entitled to one free wash for the cruise, and then we get the $29.00 coupon. If you roll the clothes really tight, you can fit quite a bit into the paper bag they give you. One wash we sent the light colored clothes, and the second one darks. We were not sure if the laundry separates things, so we did. I wash fine washables in the bathroom sink, and hang them to dry on the clothesline in the shower stall.
  14. This summer when I was returning from an excursion with an unfinished bottle of water, I was able to keep it. I was not asked to dump it, as I was in the past.
  15. It's just the two of us, so we are OK with the once a day service. I was wondering what is done for those with children, who need to have the bunk beds serviced. Are they left in the down position 24--7? I agree that towel carts should be available, but the corridors are so narrow, that folks in scooters would have a hard time getting by. We should be able to ask for extra towels to be delivered in the morning. 4 instead of just 2.
  16. They probably take a container to the buffet and get ice from the drink area.
  17. We were on the Joy on 8/20, and the Cruise Director was Vincent.
  18. We have cruised on the Jewel Class ships and the Breakaway + . I must say we did enjoy our first cruise on the Joy this summer, better than I thought that we would. My major complaint about the Joy, was too few elevators. For a ship of that size to only have . 2 elevator banks is ridiculous. Most of the time, we took the stairs of only going between 4 decks or less. The elevators were .waaay too crowded. Our favorite "hang out" on the Joy is the Observation Lounge. I heard that the Observation lounge is going to be reduced in size, due to plans to add cabins to that area for the next dry dock. I hope that NCL will change their mind on this and leave the Observation Lounge as it is. It was always busy when we were there. They also want to remove the Video area, and turn it into a spa. I don't use the spa, and neither do I do video machines, but teens love them. Without the video machines teens will lose out, and we don't want bored kids wandering around. The closets are a good size, but shelf space is weensy. The only major changes the I would want for the Joy is to increase the size of the main swimming pool, add more elevators, and create a dedicated movie theater. Watching a film in the atrium is distracting, because of noise from passers by. The 4 of us still love the Jewel Class ships, which are the perfect size for us, have the Great Outdoors for outside buffet, The Spinnaker Lounges, and enough to do. From what I have read, NCL crammed to many venues onto the smaller Prima Class ships. Fewer but larger venues is better to seat more people.
  19. My husband and I still use AOL, and we had problems getting on our email on the Joy's computers. Last year we were able to do it on the Pearl without problems.
