  1. I hope not. Where will something like that fit? Remove the small and only walking area onboard?
  2. Can someone explain why it is important to know who the maitre'd will be? In almost 50 Princess cruises I have never had an issue with any maitre'd or any other senior ship's officer. Almost never have any contact with any of them except to say hello and such.
  3. Plenty of cabs and Uber. It sound strange that Princess is not offering post cruise transfers for those passengers that are flying out the same day as disembarkation. It also sounds strange for pre-cruise transfers for those flying in the same day as embarkation.
  4. Shareholder OBC is not refundable.
  5. At least the port charges and taxes. If the friend has the plus/premier fare that cost also would be added. I book using a TA. I would ask the TA if I wanted to do this.
  6. It's only a better deal if it is a cruise you want to take.
  7. Purchase Future Cruise Deposits (FCDs). That way you have time to think out where, when and what ship. FCDs are: -$100 each and per individual. For a couple each one has to purchase an FCD. I purchase multiples. -Charged directly to your credit card, not to your on board account -Are valid for one year from the date of purchase -Fully and automatically refundable if not used -When used the $100/pp is the full deposit for the cruise, exception World cruises -When used there will be OBC added to your on board account. Amount depends on length of cruise and cabin category Upon making your new booking, the appropriate shipboard credit will be applied.* Future Cruise Length Per Person Shipboard Credit* 17 - 44 Days $125 Inside, $125 Outside, $150 Balcony, $150 Suite 11 - 16 Days $75 Inside, $75 Outside, $100 Balcony, $100 Suite 7 - 10 Days $25 Inside, $25 Outside, $50 Balcony, $50 Suite 3 - 6 Days $15 Inside, $15 Outside, $25 Balcony, $25 Suite
  8. It appears that the itinerary has Catalina and the sea day mixed. Most likely 1st day is Catalina which is only a few hours from L.A. at a very slow speed and the 2nd day a sea day.
  9. There are no check in times. I don't know your boarding port. In general, if you are speaking about a U.S. embarkation port the terminal normally opens around 9:30am. Once through security, which can be crowded, passengers are split into green lane for those with their medallions and blue lane for those without. Those without make a short detour to pick up their medallion. You then go to the embarkation area. For those waiting in that area priority boarders go first, then everyone else. Once boarding begins it goes quickly. Boarding usually begins somewhere between 10:30 and 11:00am. If you are boarding at some port other than a U.S. port the timing may be different.
  10. I would call to assure the T.A. gets it right. If you don't call the goodwill credits will probably be used to offset $300 of the fare. Remember Goodwill Credits also expire. I have some Goodwill Credits, they expire one year from the date they were granted.
  11. The Caribbean Princess does not have Alfredo's. It does not have a Wheelhouse Bar with the Salty Dog Gastropub inside. It also does not offer pop up Alfredo's. Casual dining on the Caribbean is limited to Vines and pop up Planks & Steamers. Really limited value.
  12. Yes, the grill by the pool as well as slice pizza by the pool are no charge. Here is the casual dining flyer. Caribbean Princess does not offer very much. https://www.princess.com/content/dam/princess/corporate/pdfs/restaurants-dining-venues-on-board.pdf.coredownload.inline.pdf
  13. Go to the web version. Populate it with all the required personal information. This will make it easy when you pick up your medallion at the pier. If your cabin is known print your luggage tags. If you don't know the cabin when you drop your luggage with the stevedores at the pier they will have a list and can tag your luggage for delivery to your cabin.
  14. I find trivia a good choice to find others, they may be other solos, parts of a small group of friends travelling together, or families needing an extra player. Karaoke also attracts a dedicated group where you can make friends. It's not all about solos meeting other solos, but meeting friends that you may meet again in a lounge or other activity.
  15. On cruises I have been on there really isn't much pulling checked luggage around. Car services, busses, even private cars drop luggage next to or near the luggage stevedores. As far a damage goes I have encountered breakage with the airlines, fortunately so far not with the ship.
  16. Yes. You have to set up an account by scanning your medallion. Slot payouts are to your account. You cash out your account at the cashier. With table games there is no account. You just carry your chips to the cashier to trade for cash.
  17. There are solos gatherings. Watch the events listing for location and times. I have no idea how successful it would be.
  18. Not really. A solo in a cabin pays the fare for two passengers + taxes and fees for one passenger. With two people in a cabin each one is charged the fare for one passenger + taxes and fees for one passenger.
  19. Only passengers that you permit can locate you on the ship. I would suspect that there are certain procedures and certain crew that are allowed to access your location.
  20. Here you go https://origin-www.princess.com/downloads/pdf/ships/PrincessSuite_eFlyer.pdf
  21. You do not require a driver's license to travel. You have your passport. That is all that is required to board the ship and plane. In any case unrelated to your travel and cruise I would get the DL renewed. I know here in PA one has a broad window to renew your DL. Don't know about where you live.
  22. Yes, ship's staff are able to locate you, if really necessary, more easily than making a ship wide announcement. But, they have no reason to unless there is a critical or very important situation. You are being tracked all the time on websites and via your cell phone.
  23. To the poster. No one is tracking you. Princess has no need to do this. Princess is able to locate you, actually your medallion, within a small area if they really need to locate you.
