  1. Thank you for posting this. I was about to post that the app shows our Feb Infinity cruise without a change to room service, but now I realize there is a service charge. The room service description says, "Room service is available for all non-premium food and beverages only, by dialing 56 from your stateroom phone. For premium items, please chack the hours of availability in your Room Service menu. A 20% gratuity is charged on all premium beverages. A late-hour delivery fee of $4.95 applies from 11pm to 5am, except for Top Tier and Suite Guests." At the bottom it says, "An 18% gratuity will be automatically added to the room service check." This means it would cost us $11.94 each time we have room service bacon and scrambled eggs on the balcony.
  2. You book your cruise and receive your invoice as you would with any other cruise. At any point prior to final payment you can cash in your points to decrease what you owe for the cruise. You can also cash in your points for refundable OBC.
  3. Sorry to learn of your experience. I booked a cruise through celebrity’s blue chip club and just happened to call with a question and when the phone agent checked my reservation told me final payment was due that same day. No email warning or anything. I hate to think of what might have happened if I hadn’t made that call. I now put the final payment due date 1 week early on my calendar just in case. I would try to reach out to the TA management to see if there’s anything they can do to help.
  4. We received a 50% off at some point a bunch of months ago and it was off the AI rate.
  5. On my last cruise they didn't have any meds or sunscreen out on display. You needed to ask the cashier if they had any on hand. They did have cold meds, etc, The med center has meclazine and they may have other light weight meds like ibuprofen, but no guarantee. As others have said, pack what you "might" need and bring with you. I've had to purchase OTC meds in port and they tend to be very expensive, plus you don't always know their source even though packaging may look familiar.
  6. Same goes for Reykjavik. Passengers who were disembarking needed to cross through the long winding line of passengers embarking to get to the cab line. It was very chaotic. There was no place to wait if you arrived early.
  7. We always try to reserve the earliest check in time due to our tendency to arrive to the port early for various reasons, but don’t always get our preferred time. If check in is busy then we’ve had to wait for our reserved time. If check in is quiet then they seemed happy to process us early. There’s no guarantee that you’ll be let in early.
  8. They don't track if you take pool towels. They do monitor the return of the yellow towels left in your stateroom. We once dropped our wet yellow towels in a bin by the pool without realizing they were monitored. Our stateroom attendant asked if we had them so he could swap out for clean towels. We told them where we left them and he said ok, he would mark them as returned so we wouldn't be charged. Lesson learned.
  9. We have always received beach towels at turn down, the night before a beach port stop. You can ask your cabin attendant for towels or take towels from the pool area. As mentioned, the charges are a just in case hold. Not sure about the afternoon tea, but the treats from Al Baccio make for a nice afternoon snack.
  10. We booked Eden online and then called Captain's Club to try to get the discount posted. We were told this had to happen through guest services. When we went to Guest Services upon boarding we were directed to a "specialty dining" table that was set up next to where everyone was trying to set up their internet packages. We waited on the restaurant line and they applied our elite+ discount as OBC. We would not have known why the table was there if the person at Guest Services hadn't pointed it out to us.
  11. We had a wonderful dinner at Eden on the Apex in Feb of this year. We wouldn't hesititate to book again.
  12. I've been receiving emails with "Exciting Deals", the most recent on Dec 13th.
  13. Yes, your cabin attendant will leave beach towels in your room the evening before a port day. You need to return the towel to your room at the end of the day or you are charged as if you purchased the towel.
  14. Go to the insurance board via the link scrapcreator posted. There is an active Q&A session happening there.
  15. What about after you cruise? Do you disembark in BA or somewhere else? If ending in BA have you checked out the available Celebrity tours with drop off at airport? We took one of these, when we had a 10pm flight home, that included a tour of BA, visit to a ranch, then drop off at the airport.
  16. It's been a long time since we cruised out of Vancouver, but from what I remember the cruiseport was very close to the downtown area. We had lots of options and it was very easy to take a taxi from the hotel. We used Priceline to find a 4* hotel and ended up in one of the hotels on Burrard Street. I'm sorry but I can't remember which hotel, just that it was across the street from a Tim Horton's and there's several of these coffee shops on this street. I turned out to be the same hotel that the Celebrity pre-cruise group was staying at. At that time the cost for a taxi for just us was less than taking the Celebrity shuttle to the pier, so be sure to price check.
  17. Wishing the best for your surprise! I hope it works out for you.👍
  18. Sometimes quiet roll calls seem to disappear, but they are actually still there. Try typing the name of your ship and date of cruise into the search box and a roll call for your cruise might pop up. Once you post on that thread it will show back up on the main roll call thread.
  19. OP, I totally understand where you are coming from! Our first Celebrity cruise was in 2008 on Millenium. That was the same point when I joined the CC community. We almost cancelled that cruise based on what I was reading on these boards. Our TA convinced us that Celebrity was a great cruiseline and to give it a try. We did and discovered that most, not all, of the posts we were reading were overly critical of even minor flaws. We now define ourselves as avid Celebrity cruisers. As for the E class, we cruised on Apex last Feb and had a wonderful time. The ship was beautiful, crew wonderful, and we wouldn't hesitate to cruise on the other E ships.
  20. I've set up several slot pulls on prior cruises. When I reached out to both Blue Chip and Captain's Club I was told to make plans directly with the Casino Host after boarding the ship. The hosts were always accommodating with our groups and in all instances we were able to hold our slot pull on the day and time we selected with our roll call group. Did you choose a late morning or early afternoon sea day for your slot pull? As long as you didn't schedule during prime casino time you should be fine. Save yourself the pre-trip anxiety trying to set this up ahead of time. Just go visit the Casino Host at some point the evening of embarkation day. Tell your roll call that you'll post confirmation on the roll call as soon as you can. Either that or they can just show up at the agreed to date/time and hope nothing changed.
  21. I agree, I think this is what causes the confusion.
  22. It clearly states 2 bottles per person in the cruise contract. We were stopped with our 4 bottles on our last cruise out of Fort Lauderdale. They called over a supervisor. I showed my cruise docs from my phone, they apologized and let us through.
