  1. Will add my thanks to you for so generously spending the time to take us along on your cruise. Can't wait to board in two weeks. Safe travels home!
  2. Have a wonderful time and take good care of the ship. We board in two weeks.
  3. https://www.princess.com/plan/cruise-with-confidence/cruise-health/frequently-asked-questions/us-cruises/ UPDATED: Where can I get a viral COVID-19 test near me? Contact your nearest health center, pharmacy (including CVS and Walgreens), state health department, or the airport you’re flying out of to learn more about their availability for COVID-19 testing. For U.S. based vaccinated guests, Princess also recommends a couple of options for FDA-authorized, medically supervised at-home antigen test kits. Optum offers an at-home antigen test kit ($69.99 for two), which can be ordered and shipped to your door in three business days or less. These at-home tests include a virtual video-supervised visit with an eMed Certified Guide through telehealth services. These guides will help you properly administer the test and verify the results, within 15 minutes. The lab result report is delivered via email and can be printed or displayed on your mobile device during check-in. Please place your order about two weeks prior to your boarding. Order your Optum test kit online^. Radeas offers an at-home antigen test kit ($45 each), which can be ordered and shipped to your door for free in five-to-seven business days. The kit includes a telemedicine consultation. Orders can be shipped within one month of your cruise date. Order your Radeas test kit online^. We understand it may be difficult to obtain a pre-cruise testing appointment. For fully vaccinated guests only, we are able to provide a limited number of antigen tests through a third party partner, at a cost of $60. Reservation are required and may be made up to 10 day in advance with appointments subject to capacity restrictions. Testing will take place on embarkation day at or near the cruise terminal. Visit the DocGo website for more information^. For U.K.-based guests, Princess recommends an option for an FDA-authorized, medically supervised at-home antigen test kit through our testing partner Prenetics™ (£30 each). Order your lateral flow antigen test kit online^. *This COVID-19 program is available to eligible individuals for $0 out of pocket when billed to a health plan or the government. ^You are now leaving princess.com and navigating to a 3rd party website that is not owned, operated, or controlled by Princess or any of its affiliates.
  4. We did that excursion in mid July and it was 50ish. We’ve done other Alaska cruises in mid to late August and have experienced 40’s near the glaciers
  5. Yes, we did it in July 2019, the first season it was offered. Definitely worth it. The smaller boat got very close while the Royal Princess stayed 8 miles away which is further than the Star Princess was on past trips.
  6. I love Club Class but wouldn't pay that for a center CC cabin. I would, however, look for the M6 cabin which should cost less but has a huge balcony. There's only 4 of them up front.
  7. I read yesterday that his Instragram had indeed been hacked.
  8. Cruise with Confidence applies to the cancellation fees which will be set up as FCCs. It applies to cruises within the specified timelines and full details are here: https://www.princess.com/plan/cruise-with-confidence/cancellation-final-payment-policy/ . As noted if you have Princess insurance and are cancelling for a specified fee you can get your cancellation fees back as $$. The cancellation fees are determined based on the normal cancellation schedule:
  9. It can be a website glitch or that the cruise is sold out. It can also mean that the cruise itinerary is changing or the cruise is about to cancel but that wouldn't happen on a weekend.
  10. You can take a taxi or can sign up for the shuttle with the concierge. Pretty sure it was $10 PP last year. The pier is just 2 - 3 miles away. That hotel is in a fantastic location.
  11. The Carnival-owned ships always dock at Puerta Maya in Cozumel.
  12. I do hope that Glacier Bay stays for your sake. Not much time to do anything in Victoria other than Princess being able to check the PVSA box. Enjoy your chocolate - you've got a great attitude!
  13. I've bought one on each of the cruises we've taken since the restart via the Medallion app. Very quickly processed.
  14. This is the latest from the Princess website: Check this link frequently for changes: https://www.princess.com/plan/cruise-with-confidence/cruise-health/frequently-asked-questions/us-cruises/
  15. We've done this tour twice and agree that it's a great way to experience the locks from different perspectives. On the smaller boat you can really feel the movement and can even touch the walls. It's a long day but we really enjoyed it. By the way, both of these tours were pre-pandemic. If the boats and busses are breaking down it could be that the pandemic hit the tour operators hard. Hope they fix the situation soon as this is a wonderful excursion.
  16. Engine issues aren't plaguing the Discovery Princess (so far) and we got the same message so that's not it. Must be something at or near the port in Seattle. ITINERARY AND FLIGHT GUIDELINE CHANGE Please be advised that due to operational considerations, Discovery Princess will now sail from Seattle at 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 17, 2022 rather than at 4:00 PM as previously scheduled. All guests must be aboard by 2:30 PM. As a result of this change, our embarkation flight guideline in Seattle has changed. The latest flight arrival time in Seattle is now 12:00 noon.
  17. The train depot IS in Talkeetna (or within a block or two of the shops / restaurants). The McKinley Princess lodge is about 45 minutes away. They do have shuttles that go from the lodge to Talkeetna for a fee. You would have to ask about the feasibility of staying in town once you exit the train and getting on the shuttle to the lodge later. They used to allow this years ago but I'm not sure what they may do these days. And it would be surprising if Princess found another depot to disembark train passengers for their lodge since the train pulls cars from Princess, HAL, Celebrity, and their own Alaska Rail cars.
  18. Speaking of Captain Sagani, he had another interesting announcement today. He left Princess and is moving to MSC! https://crew-center.com/princess-cruises-captain-dino-sagani-joins-msc-cruises
  19. Actually depending on who is doing the posting you'll find the definition of acceptable to vary widely. And your wife is a smart woman!
  20. Thank you. My original request was 1) 8000, 2) 8002 and 3) any aft PH3. And I'm fairly certain that the waitlist is for any PH3. Will keep my fingers crossed that it clears!
  21. Thank you! One question... You mentioned to keep checking. If we are waitlisted by Oceania wouldn't we automatically get one of the PH3 cabins if / when they became available? It's my first experience with Oceania so I have no idea how they do things.
  22. We are trying Oceania for the first time for a special occasion. I selected 8000 as my first choice since it was the same cabin we chose for the same itinerary (Tahiti) twice on the Pacific Princess that is (was) the same layout as the Nautica and that cruise cancelled both times. Third time is the charm? Nope. Our TA sent the info in advance to her Oceania contact who went in first thing - and reserved an obstructed A3. By the time my TA connected again with her contact all of the PH3s were gone. Don't know what happened but another client of my TAs wanted an A3 and the rep may have mixed it up. We are booked but waitlisted for the PH3. It's early and I imagine that things could open up over the next 1.5+ years, but I'm a little sad about my very first Oceania experience.
  23. If you do see free play shown in the Onboard Credits section as suggested above, you can call Princess to find out the rest of the details for your offer. Some are discounted cruises only, some include a free cabin. My offers have stopped by the way so I'm thinking that those of us who received them for the first time during the pandemic only got them temporarily so they could fill the ships. I have had the discounts for years and still have that so I'm satisfied with that.
