  1. Unfortunately you have to live here and watch and read the daily news from various news sources. Again, unfortunately most of the crime posted is about those ground level. Last night 7 straight stories above ground. And several below ground not just crime that still addresses the SAFE factor. Numbers don't count the incidents not reported. So sorry for your observation from Boston but "You have to be here to Experience it". It's an EXTREMELY old transit system that they really can't keep up with. Sorry for the straight poop from a New Yorker......
  2. West End, Culver Line, Franklin Shuttle.. Fourth Avenue Line...a few more Sixth Avenue Line.....
  3. N and Q.. Sea Beach and Brighton Line
  4. I only use outlets on the desk and bathroom. Wish there was one bedside if I take a wired alarm clock.
  5. The dress code is to create a standard thru out the ship example after 6PM so all are in Evening Wear. IMHO..... It really set a aire of Elegance on board. One of the reasons we are attracted to sail on QM2. Dress Theme is for those that want to participate in the set Theme and to transport them into that Evening's Fantasy ex. Roaring 20's, Blk & Wht, Red & Gold and Masquerade.
  6. On the QM2 and previous Cunard Ships not to hang any items to the rails of the cabin's balcony. We have also been told but didn't do it ourselves, cabin attendants told passengers not to place anything even laundry on the railings but can on the balcony chairs. I am not sure it is a regulation but a safety concern that items can blow or fall onto other balconies. If heavy or hard, can cause injury someone on the next balcony or down maybe at great height to the lower decks like a Promenade Deck. Example is like not smoking on decks and balconies that can land on another one and cause a fire. Like the fire that burnt on the Star several decades ago burnt several decks. We would love on 4th of July sailing to place a US Flag but didn't think it was right since the QM2 alone is a beautiful sight. What would it look like from so high up.
  7. I must agree with others that bringing your own toilet paper that will not comply with the cruise ship's machinery will disturb the processing of trash, waste and waste water. Foreign material introduced may cause a disruption and damage the operation. We would not thing of bring items not appropriate to use on board. Did you ever think of asking the cabin attendants for other items that will help you. Granted after traveling in Europe and other countries, I agree that TP are not like those in the USA.
  8. I have a question to those that have sailed and went thru the processing system previous to boarding the ship. Is the term Boarding Card the same as Boarding Pass. Is this also part of the E Ticket also to be printed within 21 days prior to embarkation day. Are they different or the same Isn't there also a card that allows you to enter your cabin waiting in the mailbox outside of your cabin. This use to be presented to you during the check in desk in the Terminal. I am trying to understand all these terms we did not use in previous sailing - pre pandemic embarkation. I have in past voyages did these printing and familiar with ex. printing luggage tags, e tickets. Your assistance is appreciated.
  9. We agree also. Now that my parents have gone to their reward we have now returned to sailing we could do for quite a number of years. We have the coming sailing and thoughts of the next one(s) we would like. When could not board and travel we took out the videos, photos and on board paperwork and returned to our memories. We even during snowy winter evenings we do so and it really up lifted. And if someday our days are just memories we have these good times to enjoyed. *(on board paperwork) - I enjoy taking all my paperwork collected from the trip to look over and remember what we did. It's not trash but memories.....
  10. NYC the same up tick........Heavy suggest to Mask and don't worry about being uncomfortable with it on. Had friend that did not get it since March 2020 and recent got it dropping his alert. Never felt so bad with this lowest strain. So MASK UP! No doubt when we cruise in September. Going and Coming Back CLEAN!
  11. We do put the flags of the countries we are visiting. Like this time will be the USA and Canada..
  12. We are proceeding and keeping any open mind. If something comes up we will address it.
  13. Not what is leading the daily news on TV lately. Does were the days long ago but times have changed.
  14. Enjoying a Gin and Tonic now, with Bombay Sapphire... Use to love Tequila Sunrise on Cruises and of course Proper Blue Hawaiian and Pina Colda
  15. WOW..............Good chance for a Visit to the Medical Center.
  16. DB.... I am so happy you enjoyed your trip with the sidebar entertainment you viewed on board. I really thought they did a big job on the QM2 when she came out of the recent visit to the yard. The outside paint job must have fooled me seeing the exterior pictures. I do know there are many sort of different type of trolley on board running through the Hallways hitting the walls and thru the rugs. WOW the in patience on board was really noted. I know sometimes a waiter will come right away to take a order. But patience should be in order while on a 8 day trip. That drink would have tasted better arriving with angry. Have to understand the changes that are currently be experienced. And I would have given that GUY a strange look as I have everyday to others for not considering my safety and those of the staff. Lose a staff member and the shop will run slower. The mask is meant for all the time use while in the interior. Oh well, you can't please everyone. The two incidents interestingly were Passengers.
  17. Hi njguy from Bklyn Boy, Thank you for your review especially concerning the Bar Service on board the QM2. I one of the special things passengers like to enjoy on Holiday is having a good drink or bottle wine to celebrate the sailing. Not having a drink prepared properly is certainly disappointing especially when one's acquired taste detects a wrong preparation presented to them. Not being extremely professional in taste, I would still detect when a drink is made in the improper ingredients. I was wondering if those amateur BT's were changing brands to hike prices of the drinks? But certain liquors are definitely different from each other like rum and vodka. When sugar is missing is very stand outish. One thing related to PR is a crew member / staff should not back talk to a passenger. But try to resolve the incident in a professional manner. If it can't a call to the supervisor can assist the disagreement. Thank you for keeping you COOL so well. I really never saw too many staff at the Pursers Deck except at peak times. Two would be what I encounter. But interesting you did eventually found the staff member who took care of the Bars.... But a proper staff member would take the moment to kindly help find to right staff member to answer your question instead of let it hanging in the air sort of speak.. A walk away again, improper. Retired from a Administrative position in a Medical Facility, I always found time to help someone at work or in the hallway to find there way. There is definitely some type of problem in "Mudville....." Hope the QM2 resolves these problems by our Sept 2022 sailing.
  18. We were on this cruise a long time ago and had the same weather as you and my father came home with pneumonia and I had a sinus infection. Pls keep safe to enjoy the summer and future cruises.
  19. On the QM2 we enjoyed in the Princess Grill each morning or meal a bit of Smoked Salmon from the moving trolley. Each time I have Smoked Salmon I always remember that trolley and it being rolled to the tableside. Same feelings with Caviar w accompaniments and toasted points when I see Caviar. Waiters always gave me an extra portion. BTW.....Can't stand CC..... the favor..
  20. Off Thread..... But can't STAND the smell.................................................................................lol.......
  21. Sorry this thread went off topic but public transit is a source of to go to the theater by those who wish to use it. Unfortunately I know many that will take Express Buses, Car Service, etc... instead of the Subway. When you are aways from the token booth, you are alone on the down platform or upper elevated platform. Any crime can occur. And unfortunately this was going on even before 9/11. I know many that will pay the extra for Exp Bus than the Subway. Above ground transit except for the once in a while incident, do crimes take place. More safer and comfortable buses. I know people when they get a new job opt to above ground transit than the underground.
  22. I haven't either and don't want to and don't look forward to experiencing it either....
