Make sure you are looking at the AARP Rewards site not just AARP. https://www.aarp.org/rewards/discover/

Excursions went up again on my Europe sailing
lennythenose replied to Eli_6's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I booked our Tracy Arm Fjord excursion last September as soon as it became available for our Alaska cruise in June. I had been reading several posts about the excursion price increases so I checked it today. It has gone up $30. So glad I booked when I did! -
Do you need water shoes or is the beach and water entry soft sand?

Port Valet available for Carnival cruisers yet?
lennythenose replied to Tigergenesis's topic in West Coast Departures
I was able to register for this for my Carnival cruise this summer. I know some people did last year and then couldn’t use it because Carnival didn’t participate but I decided it didn’t hurt anything to register and be flexible if it doesn’t work out. -
Thank you for sharing your experience. I am going on my first Princess cruise in April so this was interesting to me. We also still have several Carnival cruises booked and I am looking forward to all of them.
-
Good to know! I just asked on a social site if this was possible and no one seemed to know. Hopefully this will be the case on the Ruby in April.

Yay! Switching from Chrome to Firefox DID fix the printing problem. I bought cruise tags from Amazon. Lots of options but something like this. Definitely get the ones with the metal rings and reinforced holes. Learned the hard way that the ones with just plastic holes tear too easily. https://www.amazon.com/Princess-Cruise-Ship-Luggage-Holders/dp/B07XPDM4B1/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=2NRTL7A6V7U0L&keywords=princess+cruise+luggage+tag+holder+2023&qid=1677356092&sprefix=princess+crui%2Caps%2C152&sr=8-3

I’m so glad you asked this question! I am in my first Princess cruise in April and thought that is just the way the luggage tags are. I also use the plastic holder and even checked to see if I could buy new ones that would fit better but only found the size I already have. Now I’ll try switching browsers and reprint. I could gold them enough to make them fit but would prefer the larger ones for easier reading.

A true kolache is a fruit-filled Czech pastry. Very popular in Central Texas (my car exits every time in West whether I want it to or not😉). The meat or usually sausage filled ones are actually koblasniks (sp?) but many call them all kolaches. Donut shops even call their sausage rolls kolaches which they definitely are not. Personal pet peeve😂. More than you ever wanted to know, but if you want yo kill time while driving… https://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt/2016/11/28/502088150/the-czech-pastry-that-took-texas-by-storm-and-keeps-gaining-strength

Interesting. I knew you had to be an AARP member to buy the Carnival cards and assumed it would be the same for Princess and others. Thank you for letting me know.
-
Got it😀. I’ll be on the site every month buying my Carnival cards for the 3 cruises (so far) that I have booked so it will be no problem just checking to see.
-
Thanks, I do know that AARP has them. For purely personal reasons that don’t impact anyone else I will not be buying any from AARP. I have seen old posts when doing a Google search that indicate Allstate used to have Princess cards, I’m just not sure how recently they were available. I have a while before I would need any so I will just watch and see if they ever come back.
-
I always buy the Carnival cards on Allstate. I have booked my first Princess cruise and wondered if their gift cards are ever available on Allstate because I’ve never paid attention and they aren’t right now. I know they are (at least sometimes) on AARP. Anyone ever see any?

Had to look that one up! Sounds yummy😀

It looks like everyone has their personal favorites but Princess does not have a special embarkation day feature drink as some lines do. Just wanted to make sure I didn’t miss out on it if they did.
-
We are booked for our first Princess cruise soon. I do love a fruity cocktail to celebrate getting my cruise started. Does Princess have a specific drink I should make sure to try first?

I’m 56 and have never heard of dippy eggs. Had to Google it😂. -
I always have a bowl of individual wrapped candies and mints in our cabin. When we meet the steward I tell them that it will be there and they are welcome to any of it. Most times they have eaten a few every day and once asked if they could take a certain kind to a co-worker. Of course I said yes! At the end of the cruise I leave all the remaining candy in a baggie, any unused bottled water and their additional tip along with a note saying thank you and to enjoy it share any of it they want to. As far as home baked items I have brought some onboard in my carryon in the past when we have some left from our road-trip to the port. I never even considered offering that to the steward for all the reasons mentioned above.

Thank you both for these answers! I have sailed from Texas numerous times on Carnival so the package kicking in once at sea is a great change to me! Limited selection is not a problem for me.

Does Plus cover alcoholic beverages from Galveston on day 1? I know on Carnival you have to pay out of pocket on day 1 and thought I read Princess is the same but now I can’t find where I read that🤦♀️.
