  1. Hi Terry, are you near Palenstine and that awful train wreck/explosion? Man on man, I feel really bad for those folks. I am thinking ALOT of people are going to end up getting sick (and some are already).
  2. Thanks so much. Someone on the air forum recommended another site called Flight Matrix.....it is not a site like Xpedia but VERY informational. It actually gives you the airlines and prices for the dates you are looking for.......I had never even heard of it before. But I understand what you mean...maybe booking through a 3rd party is not the wisest option. Oh....I am confused. I thought you could purchase it from Matrix but it clearly says you cannot LOL........I need to go back to AA and see what their prices are........as compared to Matrix.
  3. WOW...that is a pretty cool site😀 thank you again......I got it now. I appreciate your post very much!
  4. Hi Darcy, thanks for the tip. I have never used matrix and am trying to get my dates in there. Got the departure in but having an issue with the return date.....will keep trying LOL.......
  5. Happy Sunday to the River Cruise Coolers.....I would like some advice, please be kind as you usually are😀and I posted this on the Air Forum too.......ok, I found a VERY reasonably priced cruise with Uniworld on The Seine for July. They are offering specials with no single supplements! I have a cabin on hold till Tuesday. And the cruise line quoted me a price on air too. Flying Business Class. Now, I decided to look at Xpedia and am very curious about this because I have never used them before and most of all, the prices I see on that website are at least a grand less than what the cruise line quoted. I went to the specific airline websites as well but I don't see those lower prices on there😮....why would they not show up if booking directly through the airline? Have any of you used Xpedia? Is it all legit, etc...etc.......any help would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Hi, I don't think you are missing anything.
  7. I was looking at XPEDIA for flights (never used them before) and this is for flying to Paris.......I have a WHY question. If there are 3 choices for Business Class (all within my price range) and then I go to the actual Airline Website, WHY aren't those flights showing up for that same price? Hope it is not an unreasonable question.........looking at American Airlines. Thanks for any help.
  8. Glad to see this😀...I am staying there in April for one night. Great to know how much you enjoyed it😀
  9. It is nearing the end of February. Did you take the cruise? How was it?
  10. Good morning girls and especially Cynthia, Hope you have a wonderful day and tell us all about your dinner with your son last night! Did you go to the same place you went for NYE? I think you had mentioned how much you enjoy that restaurant. Well, yesterday I was looking on line for that river cruise on the Seine........Uniworld has one with a waived Single Supplement and so I called them and have a cabin on hold till Tuesday. Giving me some time to think about it. It is for July (and yes I know Europe can be hot in the summer). But the price is really good. I was looking at several cruise lines who do this itinerary. Melissa, so sorry about your brother's ankle! Hope he will be ok. Hi Sharon, always good to see you😀 Melody, hope the foot is doing ok!!!
  11. I see there were culinary tours mentioned. I LOVE those kind of excursions! I remember a few different ones I have been on but it was many, many years ago. Ship was docked in Dominica and there was a Culinary Excursion to a private home and out on the patio were multiple stations set up, burners, utensils, etc....and the instructors of course LOL.....I think it was 2 sisters (it was a long time ago) and everyone participated in making multiple courses and we ate what we had all cooked. I think there were about 8 or 9 pax so it was quite small and detailed.......I do remember the house was up in the mountains. It was really good😀
  12. Good morning, Terry and JP, thanks for sharing your photos. They are all lovely😀
  13. Why? Because usually SS runs a special to upgrade to Business Class for much less $$ than I can find on my own. So I let them do it. Not everyone has points and stuff...some of us pay in $$ (If you can believe it). So I guess it does not make more sense for me.
  14. I guess I don't have to worry about that......I have never gotten a taste for curry. For some reason, I just don't like it. Condiments? Well, Mayo would be in my top 3....depending on the sandwich of course😀
  15. I think French Toast is much more like the first picture🙂 and CGT, I have seen sausage and bacon with it....its ok with me. Bacon always make everything better LOL😀
  16. Hi girls, Cynthia, sorry I can't help with the coffee suggestions. I never bring anything like that with me. Well, I remember posting a while back about my Dr moving further away and what I was going to do. I really don't want to drive down to where he moved to and so next week I am going to try and find someone closer to home. I even called his office to see if they could recommend someone. They called me back but just left a message and didn't leave a specific name. (One of the receptionists called). My Medicare starts March 1st and I know I should find a new Primary Care........there are multiple Dr's office very close to where I live. I was reading some reviews and a couple of them got multiple 5 stars......seems the patients really like them. Anyway, will let you know what happens. Kat, glad you got your garage door fixed! Hope everyone is having a good weekend.🙂
  17. Yes, there are multiple cruises on the Uniwolrd website that have a waived single supplement. If you click on "offers" on the Homepage, one choice is "Waived Single Supplements" and there are quite a few choices. There are no secrets of any kind involved.
  18. I agree with gnome12. I have also sailed with Uniworld and I don't bring dresses with me on any cruises. I am just not a "dress gal". The photos on lines are showing you the decor of each riverboat but the dress code? Has nothing to do with the decor. River Cruises are not what I consider (and many others do as well) they are not a "dressy experience". I also bring pants (black ones LOL) and tops. I may wear jeans during the day and change into my black slacks for dinner. Yes, and different tops. I would not worry about being underdressed. A pair of pants and top/pullover/blouse/etc.....will be just fine. And I saw some of those sailings with no single supplements too! Looking to find one for this summer🙂
  19. Good morning, other river cruise lines also offer very low or even no single supplements for certain cabin categories. Uniworld, AMAWaterways and Tauck are 3 choices of river cruise lines that offer these options.
  20. Good morning, sounds like you already know the cruise lines you mentioned are all in different categories. You must also know the size of the ships vary as well. Seabourn and Silversea would be in the same genre.....Viking ocean and Oceania would be considered in one.........NCL and Celebrity in another. Do you enjoy the "mega ships"? I sail with Silversea, their largest ship holds 600. As for age? I am 64 and have met many guests older than me as well as younger. For many many years I sailed with Celebrity. I started sailing with SS in 2017 and LOVE it. I would say their entertainment is nothing like the "big ships"....but for me? I really don't care about that...sometimes I go to the shows and sometimes I don't. They normally have a guitarist and/or pianist as well. But most folks would tell you entertainment is not a "high priority" with SS. They do offer some excellent itineraries though! I love the smaller vessels and will be heading to Greece in April🙂. You certainly have a lot of options, that is for sure. Maybe after you sail Celebrity this summer you can see if they appeal to you for another cruise. Or not...... Good luck with your research and hope you find whatever cruise fits you best🙂
  21. Hi, March is the HIGH season.....spring break and all that.......that is why prices are so high. I think there is a LaQunita near the airport. Try that....sometimes they have decent prices.
