Oasis of the Seas Star Loft- 1718 or 1720?
irishgal432 replied to AndrewKozak's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I like the side facing ones which are much quieter than the aft. Its all personal preferance. If you like people watching and flowrider, golf, zip line than aft for sure. If you like side facing and ocean views than side for sure. Both great rooms! -

How was your cruise experience post pandemic?
irishgal432 replied to ARI421's topic in Royal Caribbean International
The first 5 that was limited capacity were great! The later ones including a Star Class sailing not so great. Capacity ramped up way too much and many things not operational. Shows cancelled, cruise director and asst quarantined, genies quarantined. Won;t be booking anymore for a while. -

Will the 2022 Recession affect Royal cruise fares?

Lots of good deals on a lot of non suites, especially for senior and resident discounts. -
Yes testing is a big PIA but, In all honesty, keeping testing does not cost Royal anything other than refunding those who testing positive in the first place. They would rather refund them through pre cruise testing then, having even larger numbers of covid circulating, overloading medical with testing and treatment even in minor cases, using large sections of the ship for quarantining, providing extra manpower to clean, deliver food etc, and having to re route ships in case of extreme emergency. Right now most ships are sailing at capacity, so the testing isn't blocking too many people from going on cruises and those people who do not want to test they are filling rooms with those that are willing to test. When schools are back in session, then they may look at the drop of capacity and re visit the testing requirements. Once they drop those requirements, it would be very difficult to bring them back.

Sorry to say Royal requires no covid in the previous 10 days. You will need documentation from a proctored tested versus a self administered covid test for a full refund. The health questionnaire asks if anyone tested positive within the last 10 days as well as exposure in the past 14 days. Your timeline won't work in ordeer to board the ship. I had 2 cruises in this scenario, one for me the day of the test and it was a surprise as I was asymptomatic, the other was my husband 3 weeks later who tested positive 1 week prior and still tested positive.

Virtual COVID vaccination card question.
irishgal432 replied to dannyv23's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Not sure where you are located, but I called my county health department and asked for my vaccine record and they sent a print out of all of my flu etc shots as well as a new card. -
In all honesty, use one of the proctored services that charge 15-20. I have used both services and it requires wifi and a phone or computer with audio. You can use the government home tests with the proctor. Rapid COVID-19 Tests Online at Home. Observed Tests for Cruises and Travel (rapidtestandtrace.com) On point also has a virtual option.

Europe COVID protocols
irishgal432 replied to pyrateslife4me84's topic in Royal Caribbean International
This still talks about Certificate of Recovery in lieu of negative test. Hope they just forgot to take that part out. -
We were on in June and at the time Hailey Park, Bao, Jade (when Bao goes home), & Yen were the genies. We had Hailey, but was notified the day of sailing she was unfit for duty, (Covid?) and was transferred to Bao, then Bao came down with Covid and we ended up with Hailey. They both were very good genies, but make sure you ask for what you want, food, activities, etc.
