This was my issue when I sailed on Meraviglia. The woman directing traffic refused to listen to me. As one who tries to obey instructions, I did not try to do as you did. Besides, the way she was standing in the driveway, going around her could have been dangerous for her with an unpleasant result for me.

The reports does make one wonder, doesn't it. But, in a way, one pays one's money and one does not always know what the experience of that will be: be it cruising, buying a new car or condo/house, etc.

As a CCL shareholder, I would prefer this does not happen. Why do you feel if it happened it would be better for the industry?

Agree with the others that Glacier Bay is a "must see" and I do so for their same reasons. Second "must see" area for me is Hubbard Glacier.

Considering booking YC, the value far exceeds any accommodation level on a Carnival ship. The YC Restaurant and Pool Grill and Room Service menu ought to satisfy you. Alcoholic beverages: there is a premium list that is not included. Why one would not be satisfied with what is included mystifies me. Question #4: read my post above. Question #5: No. Why does one think one needs such? I found no reason to experience it and passed up on a free specialty dinner because of my MSC status. No idea.

That has been my long standing understanding. I think that you are correct. One of Newton's Laws of Motion--Inertia--is active at this time. 'If what we are doing and our guests like this new procedure, why not continue?' Why would that not be the mind suit of a cruise line executive in charge of such produces?

My opinion: there are cruising itineraries that could be developed by the cruise lines that would appeal to those of us who have sailed the "traditional 3-4-5-6-7-10-11-14, etc. days itineraries". Probably not a season of such, but, maybe a few each cruising.

The staff only knows what they know. Some are more diligent than others than doing the requisite phone calling, etc. to find out what they don't know. The poor "Night Auditor" has gotten the blame for all of my on-board account snafus. Until, a Front Desk Officer takes charge and gets the issue resolved.

Yes, crispness is what I like and nicely browned. I am having difficulty finding just the right setting on my toaster to get the bagels consistently browned the way I like them. Used the same setting this morning that I did on Thursday and they came out underbrowned. (Maybe my toaster is sending me a message after several years of use?) If I did that at my usual setting for English Muffins, they would be very overdone. I find using the commercial toasters on ships difficult to get the proper result more times than not. I suppose the basic problem is the original setting of the machine. On one morning, I had to re-toast my English Muffin 4 times to get them "done" to my satisfaction. Then, they were too dry. Undoubtedly, real smoked Salmon would be better, but, this is not a staple in my refrigerator.

My idea of "fun" may be different than yours. I enjoy people watching. If one leaves the first ship as late as possible, the time for check-in and embarkation shouldn't be too long for a person.

The National Aquarium is an interesting place. If one is a railroad fan, the Baltimore & Ohio Museum is a place where a few hours could be spent.

And, I should have added, praise for the airport's emergency personnel and the surrounding communities fire/rescue personnel who responded to the incident.

A very recent example in my community of what you are saying. This week, we had a "runway excursion" at DAY when a CRJ200 slipped off the runway during landing and a wing hit a runway directional sign and a light, damaging the wing. No one was injured and the passengers had high praise for a flight crew that was very professional and calm during the emergency.

The same thing can happen when one ask a question at the ship's Front Office.

Agree; excellent cuisine and service in all that I have dined. The Royal Class ships (and some of the others as pop-ups) have Alfredo's which prepares excellent pizzas, salads, and desserts in a sit down dining venue.

It is impossible to predict what the seas will be like. A trans-Atlantic crossing can be more smooth than a cruise in the Caribbean or in the Pacific. Winter crossings can be expected to be rough at times, but, that is also true with crossings at any other time of the year as well.

What I have purchased from Panera has been very good. Why do this? I had difficulty finding the setting on my toaster that suits toasting a bagel. The setting that I first used for English Muffins produced a too well done product. I changed it for a lighter setting; not toasted enough. The setting that I have found is just a bit less than I use for toasting bread.

Regardless of the music artists provided, HAL does one heck of a great job on New Year's Eve!
