Too Much OBC, how to handle?

Do not use your credit card during online check in - set up your account as cash. On day 2 (after all the OBC posts to your account), go to the casino cage and withdraw the OBC from the casino. Because you have a cash account you will not need to pay the 5% fee. Then when you are strolling by guest services and see it is not busy, stop and give them your credit card info to cover any incidentals you might have. We did the same a few cruises ago when we had a ton of OBC.

We ended up with $700 OBC. $300 from RC Black Friday sale, $50 from TA (it was going to be $100 but they reduced it due to our FCC eating up just about all the cost), $250 from my fiancee's MyVegas, and $100 from my MyVegas. We are able to use $650 in our Cruise Planner, so all of that went into our Deluxe + Voom packages. Now we have $50 waiting for us onboard, which will go into gratuity.

If we didn't get the drink package, the OBC would probably go into excursions or spa days.

We generally go to guest services the second day and take out any refundable on board credit. Then we only have to worry about spending the remaining portion. If you have any remaining credit at the end of the cruise, you can take the cash out at the casino. You will pay a 5% fee but paying a few $$ is better than leaving the money ( Never) or purchasing items you don't really want. In some cases, the on board credit has been some sort of promotion, so losing $5 and getting $95 ( if we have $100 remaining) is a no brainer. I suggested going to GS early in the cruise, that way they can't tell you that the items/services you've already purchased went against the refundable portion and your still have non refundable remaining. ( happened to us once).

Enjoy the cruise and we all wish we had your "problem".

Bob, I have the same issues for my HOTS cruise in July. I have OBC from my RCCL credit card points. I already prepaid tips, and paid for excursions and BOGO dining on credit card. Can I cancel and rebook dining and excursions and get refunded to credit card and pay with OBC? When can I do this? Before boarding or only on ship? Can I also cancel prepaid tips and get refunded to my credit card and then have the tips draw from my OBC? When can I do this?

You can cancel the excursions and the dining and the amounts will go back on the same credit card.

If the excursions were discounted, you will pay full price on board.

The ship may or may not have dining offers on board.

Our last cruise we also had some extra OBC, we decided to invite another couple to enjoy a paid dinning experience on us. Sometimes treating others are as rewarding as treating yourself.

I love this idea!

Piggybacking - If you have leftover OBC and want it "refunded" (mine is all refundable; gift from TA) will they just automatically put it back on the credit card you use for your seapass card? That would be fine with me as it is our every day credit card. We usually just pay our tips with our TA OBC, but decided to prepay tips this time and may not spend all $300 we are receiving for this cabin (we're pretty frugal onboard)

Yes, any remaining refundable OBC will be credited to the credit card you use to secure your onboard account.

You could sign up for a full ships tour, takes a few hours.

Go directly to guest services after boarding and sign up, it will go on your account and come out of the obc.

You can book a cabana if going to the private island.

A photo package might be nice

Bingo if you like that or the casino
