HAL to announce new celebrity voyage(s) Thursday (2/9/17)

HAL is set to announce a new celebrity voyage partnership tomorrow ((2/9/17) at 11:30 a.m. EST.

Announcement will I believe be streamed live via the HAL Facebook page.

Hint: I believe it involves a very famous woman from Chicago. ;)

I hope this is an early April Fool joke.

I sincerely hope it's not on any of the cruises I plan to go on. And certainly not with the person being hinted. That would be a surefire way for me to cancel my booking and try a new line!

Maybe the "celebrity" will be the librarian. Surely one or two of them must have some marketable skills beyond being famous for being famous.

Since it's Oprah, I'm going to speculate that this has something to do with Weight Watchers. Maybe something in the Culinary Arts Center, menu items or perhaps some WW cruises.

Interesting guess. I don't think she'd do a lot of appearances, but maybe she will "curate" the book club, choosing books from her list. Perhaps HAL will occasionally book the author to do an appearance?

Probably :)....but she recently bought a significant share of Weight Watchers and is now the face of this weight loss program. I think a lot of cruisers would like to eat healthier on a cruise...we'll see soon!

Not interested in any itinerary with any 'celebrity' that is likely to diminish my personal cruise experience. I am even leery of my cruises with 'small' affinity groups.

The announcement is actually streaming live right now from the HAL page on Facebook if anyone is interested in watching.

So far - they have announced a book club, additions to exercise (tai chi), new clothing merchandise. Additionally - they will be showcasing 4 adventure cruises with details "to come".

It's a partnership with O Magazine, not Oprah herself.
