Bad publicity for Celebrity?

The article does not indicate that he was a passenger on the ship, but at home when this incident happened.

I Am sure not many people will connect the two (2) except for this horrible accident. That is if they do not understand that it is a quick photo taken somewhere where X had docked.

He could have taken the photo in front of his auto and most thoughtful individuals would not connect the two (2) unless the article tied them together in some manner.

bon voyage

I can't even tell for sure the ship in the background is a Celebrity vessel.....

This sad BBC report about a vaping pen exploding and killing the user.

The first photo shows the victim with a Celebrity ship in the background, when I first saw it I thought that Celebrity was somehow involved (not the case).

Another example of a misleading post. The photo has nothing to do with the incident...

It’s the victim. The photo was taken on vacation. They probably asked the family for a photo and this is what was supplied. Nowhere was there any implication that the incident took place during the vacation. The victim WAS AT HOME AT THE TIME

We know! it was just unfortunate that Celebrity was featured in the picture that seems to be used in most articles yet has nothing to do with it. No need to yell. The point of this thread was the unfortunate placement of the ship in the picture being used

Why another example of a misleading post???

Before reading the article you first see a photo of a man (victim!) with a Celebrity ship in the background, that automatically conjures up a connection. reading the report dispells this (which I also stated).

So where is the misleading post???

I don't know about the rest of you but I'm cancelling my upcoming Celebrity cruise right when my TA opens this morning.

There is no way I want to on a ship where a dead person might once had his photo taken in front of.

And my Aunt Millie whould be cancelling too if she had a clue what cuise line X was.

That explains why you saw Celebrity and the rest of us apparently did not. In any case I still don't draw an inference from the photo that a ship in the background had anything to do with this guy having died from smoking. Sad stuff, yes.

d - If your Aunt is in a Reflection Suite, I would be more than happy to escort her during the sailing....

That way you would not have to worry about her at all... that type of info does not float up, too often!

bon voyage
