Recommendations for a hotel in Barcelona?

We are intending to layover 2 or 3 nights at the end of our cruise in Barcelona. Anyone know of a good centrally located, moderately priced hotel that would be located near the port and airport with good access to the sights. We will likely be relying on taxis for any of our travels around town.

Thanks!

We'll be back in Barcelona for our 3rd time before boarding a ship for a trans-Atlantic, and will again be staying at the Hotel Curious (pronounced koo-ree-oos). It is about a block off Las Ramblas, just a short taxi ride from the port, about a 25E ride to the airport, and it's a great little hotel. The only thing I would suggest is that you bring along ear plugs; the sound from the street carries upward to the windows, and can be surprisingly loud in the middle of the night. Other than that, they have a great breakfast every morning, and some of the nicest front desk people you'll ever meet.

We brought our adult family with us the last time we stayed there, and they shared my sentiments exactly; they loved the hotel, the location, the people.

Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)

We are staying at Hotel Gaudí off Las Ramblas -- have not been there before, but love the view from the roof terrace overlooking Palau Güell's chimney towers!

It is not possible to be close to both the port and the airport.

We believe we can walk to Hotel Gaudí with our carry-on-only bags; will have the HG desk call for a taxi to the airport.

We stayed at the Silken Las Ramblas on our last visit to Barcelona. It’s rated as a4star hotel but was priced at 90€ last March. It just off Las Ramblas but is central to getting from the port to the airport. It’s a 15-20 minute walk from up Las Ramblas from the Columbus monument where the port shuttle pickup and drop off. I think it was a $20€ cab from dockside. It’s also a 5 minute walk to Plaza Cataluna to catch the airport shuttle.
