dmwnc1959 Posted February 22, 2012 #827 Share Posted February 22, 2012 Looks like she is docking way down at the other wharf halfway down the channel and well out of a decent webcam view?
Rare Radio Posted February 22, 2012 Author #828 Share Posted February 22, 2012 Yes it appears that Enchantment will dock at Pier 3 (Carnival Ecstacy Home Port- CT-3) This is where we docked last month in Port Canaveral. Passengers will be able to get a few pics of Carnival Pride as she arrives in a few moments. Radio ;);)

Cotswold Eagle Posted February 22, 2012 #830 Share Posted February 22, 2012 A great example is the airbus A380 that suffered engine failure. It happened November 10 2010 and is still not repaired, even with highly skilled people working very hard to return it to service. 15 months and counting for this repair, 135 million in repair costs alone and still counting!! That's not really a good comparison. VH-OQA suffered an uncontained engine explosion, which caused significant structural damage to the airframe. That's what is taking the time to repair, not replacing the engine. I don't think anyone is suggesting that bits of Enchantment's hull were scattered over Baltimore :)
Rare Radio Posted February 22, 2012 Author #831 Share Posted February 22, 2012 Radio, do you ever sleep? I always look forward to your updates, sooo.......I am glad your up! >SNIP< Ha ha. . .yes I sleep every night. . . I am down every night early though. The nice thing about the CT-3 Pier is that it it walking distance to the Beach at Jetty Park. You can also find many seafood restaurants nearby. (without renting a car) Below are a few pics from my sailing last month when we docked at Port Canaveral. . .of course it's not "LIVE", but you can get an idea of where the ship docks. Radio We sail past Jetty Park on the way to the Pier We appraoched the pier slowly. . . CT-3 is an older Terminal, but it did the job for Enchantment Passengers Passengers will be seeing this soon. . . A view from outside of CT-3 We were getting ready to leave Port Canaveral soon. . . . read52 Posted February 22, 2012 #832 Share Posted February 22, 2012 I think RCI owes us all some OBC on our next cruises for missing out on a free cruise. If I knew it was going to be free I could have been in Baltimore in 3-4 hours. I could have been there in 45 minutes.

read52 Posted February 22, 2012 #834 Share Posted February 22, 2012 Sorry I missed reading this thread yesterday but I still could be at the Baltimore dock in 45 minutes. Really watching to see what going to happen. We are on the Enchantment in June. We just paid off that cruise.

BND Posted February 22, 2012 #837 Share Posted February 22, 2012 Thought I'd check marine traffic before I got ready for work. EN is docked and Pride should be visible to those onboard and will be passing shortly. En is at the pier we expect to dock at in March when we're onboard. Lysingers Posted February 22, 2012 #838 Share Posted February 22, 2012 Hello everyone, Just a quick check-in. Still scheduled to arrive at P.C at 7AM. I'm not a morning person - at all - but I plan to be up to try to get a view of what they have waiting for us on the pier when we arrive. I expect it will be an army of equipment, personnel and parts. At least I hope so. Gosh Theron, from all his early morning, pre-dawn posts, your friend Radio seems to be the ultimate, classic morning person! How did the two of you ever even cross paths to meet and become friends? zambien Posted February 22, 2012 #841 Share Posted February 22, 2012 Just in case no one posted already, we all got a free cruise. Our itinerary is less than ideal but I can't complain. This is my first cruise.... my wife's too. We will be back on an RCI boat this summer for sure. Itinerary is Today Canaveral Tomorrow at sea 24th arrive at Nassau 3pm 25th depart Nassau 11am 26th at sea 27th arrive in bmore My understanding is that they will try to repair the boat in one of these ports. Hopefully Canaveral so that we can get to Nassau early. OK off to the beach.

Well, I'm hardly an expert, but I'll offer an opinion any way! :-) Hopefully, the needed parts and repair personnel are already on the ship today in Port Canaveral. They will be able to work even after the ship departs PC until the repair is done... If they find that additional parts are required, they could be delivered to Nassau. Ander026 Posted February 22, 2012 #849 Share Posted February 22, 2012 One nice thing about Enchantment docked there is that Jetty Park and dinning is right there. Guests can even take the Victory Casino ship for a 4 hour tour in the morning if they choose. Hopefully things are getting fixed on the Enchantment. If I was on that cruise I would take everything in stride. To all of those that are frustrated and think their vacation is absuluty ruined. Remember that you are on Vacation and on a Cruise. You still have great food, entertainment, and plenty of activities on board.
