We have friends who will be joining Dawn Princess in Venice for the voyage back to oz - currently they are slumming it in Montorosso in the Cinque Terre region of Italy.

Just checked the Marine Traffic site and they sailing out of the Venice Lagoon as I post. A late night sail out.

On my bucket list would be a daylight sail out/in for Venice.

Done the daytime sail out from Venice on the Ruby Princess. It was wonderful. However, those big ships going down the lagoon do a far bit of damage.

Can anyone enlighten me as to what are the highlghts?

I looked on google maps and saw the old town which appears quite picturesque, but was puzzled at all the buildings that surrounded it. Then discovered its a huge car assembly plant, but for whom?

 

Wonder if they docked at the old town or the industrial docks?

Marine Traffic AIS says that they are Moored/At anchor , so it must be a tender port for them.

Hello from beautiful down town split..... Yesterday in koper we did a tour to Lubijana the capital then to lake bled .... Just beautiful .. Google it... No ship tour wen there.... Tomorrow I will try to catch up on all blogs from the past few days.... Sea day finally.....
