Kiwi Kruzer Posted August 30, 2013 #176 Share Posted August 30, 2013 They are docked at the new facility in Mykonos. The Island provides shuttle buses to take you into the old town. You can walk , but the road is very narrow and dangerous.

Kiwi Kruzer Posted September 4, 2013 #182 Share Posted September 4, 2013 They are back in Civitavecchia again. This time they are parked on the commercial side of the port. Its a long walk out from there and the shuttle to the port gate takes ages. Parked on the other side at cruise docks are Norwegian Epic, Nieuw Amsterdam and Disney Magic. It turned out to be one of the best tours we have ever done. It was a full on , and long day , but well worth it.

Kiwi Kruzer Posted September 10, 2013 #193 Share Posted September 10, 2013 Gosh ...Where has all that time gone. The boomerang has turned and they are now heading home. Interesting to note that the bridge cam now states their next port of call is , Aquaba, and does not mention the Suez Canal Transit. Heres the rest of the itinerary....Egypt cancelled I think. bazzaw Posted September 12, 2013 #196 Share Posted September 12, 2013 Apparently people onboard have known for a long time that they would not be visiting Sharm el Sheikh -- BUT also apparently, they may be transiting Suez Canal at night!! Don't know anymore or why. EDIT -- well they may not - my correspondent may be confused. They are currently about 250NM from the entrance to the canal and will arrive there around midnight -- they may enter in the very early hours of the morning. Will have a look where they are in about 12 hours. Barry

Kiwi Kruzer Posted September 12, 2013 #198 Share Posted September 12, 2013 If Live AIS is in fact Live the are lining up to enter the canal as I post. Interesting that only the ships outside are shown and they are not showing the progress of any ships in the transit. They are going through on Friday 13th..
bazzaw Posted September 12, 2013 #199 Share Posted September 12, 2013 They seem to have disappeared off AIS right now -- but ********** shows that they have commenced the transit. It is now around midnight there. I have emailed a friend onboard to see if this was always the plan - or why they are transiting at night. Apparently there was an attack on a cargo ship a couple of weeks ago - I am wondering if this has anything to do with it. It is a big shame because the Suez transit was probably the highlight of our cruise to UK on Oriana -- much more interesting for us than the Panama was.
