Received an email, as a passed passenger, from Carnival offering 6 night Melbourne Cup cruise from $699 pp inside. Includes entry to cup. Lowest I have seen.:)

Is that for this year?

If so must be a really last minute deal. They dont usually discount MC cruises.

Yes for 2016, I booked a twin balcony yesterday, also got $200 OBC. It also includes general entry tickets to the MC with transfers and entry only to Oaks Day

That is a very low price. They must be struggling to fill the cabins. I think there are at least 4 ships in town for the Cup this year.

We got a special deal through work (hospital) for this cruise.....

$399 inside twin

$499 outside twin

$599 balcony twin.

I can't take advantage of it as my brother is getting married that weekend, I was tempted though and I've previously said I'd never get on a carnival ship again:rolleyes:

Are they the ones that go via Ghangzhou?

China Airlines is actually Taiwan owned and flies to/from Taipei. I have flown with them to Europe once and they are a very good airline. All depends on price of course, but I would fly with them again. Plenty of food, drinks and snacks on board and fantastic service. Fly into a great airport (if it's the new terminal) and a very exciting city.
