Princess have Majestic Princess 7/11/23 cruise to Fiji 13 nights available for a bargain price for guarantee cabins. Interior $1198, Balcony $1598. Good price if you can travel next week.

I have put a hold on a balcony cabin and need to check out the required travel insurance for New Caladonia before I commit and pay.

The Cairns to Brisbane one has gone up by $50 since your previous list. I thought it might be due to extra OBC in flash sale # XVIX. Looking at it on P&O, they currently have such a sale - and it shows as $77 per night inside, $90 per night window, $110 balcony.

Those numbers also reflect why Princess is dropping a ship out of Sydney next season and why the Melbourne season has been shortened.

Are you registered with any online TAs? I get heaps and almost all of my international travel has included flights, tours and/or cruises. I have done two Sydney/Singapore HAL cruises that included return flights. Quite a number to US and Canada. TA's can often get good deals with airlines. Have you noticed Qantas is now partnered with a well known travel company that can get a good deal on trips?

Have you included flights with your cruise search?  Some TAs specialise selling cruises with flights included.  Good idea to subscribe to them.

Partnering with the big kangaroo, does that mean they are selling ghost cruises and you will be sailing without luggage?

Worse. They will only serve weird flaky pastry things for lunch. No desserts.

Our first ever cruise was with RCI and we remained loyal to Royal for some years. I still have a bit of a soft spot for them and as Diamond C&A members the 4 complimentary drinks each day are a bit of a sweetener. So it’s a little disappointing that they haven’t been mentioned in this thread lately. 💰

It might be worth checking out Quantum OTS sailings from Brisbane to the South Pacific Islands.

15/2/2024 - 7 nights - inside cabin - $799

1/3/2024 - 7 nights - inside cabin - $799

29/1/2024 - 9 nights - inside cabin - $999

The cabin pricing is reasonable, but the prices of everything aboard has deterred us from booking. Having a $US account is a start while our dollar is tanking, but Royal has increased their US pricing as well.

I keep looking, as they are otherwise a great option.

We don’t spend much onboard so that doesn’t affect us greatly. But you’re right. You’d think after all of these years they could charge in Australian Dollars while cruising from Australian home ports like many of the other US cruiselines do.

All the full time ships are $AU, and it is only visiting Princess ships that change while they are here.

The other with Royal is that when starting to book, it sometimes feels like they are taking the pi$$. I was just looking at a 2 nighter on Ovation. After a massive $900+ cabin discount is applied, the cruise is still $550 each for an inside cabin. Who in their right mind would suggest that one of those cabins be worth over $450pp per night. I just spotted that when skimming through for a possible shortie and gave up pretty quick.

I don't like Royal's booking system where the lowest price is shown at the search but cabins are unavaliable when booking it. Example, lowest interior are shown on search, only to discover only suites are available.

I personally feel that Virgin's booking system is the best. It allows you to customize all filters upfront and sorts accurately.

I have only cruised RCCL once, on Voyager, and for some reason did not love the ship. I think maybe because it was so different from what I was used to. It was also only 3 days so I didn't really give them much of a chance. I think its time for me to try again, when the right deal pops up.

They'll have to give their inside cabins away shortly, with Covid numbers increasing.  I recently received an email for a collection of different cruises recently and all the prices were for Inside Cabins only!!  So maybe passengers are avoiding inside cabins already.

My first Australian cruise was on Rhapsody of the Seas from Hawaii to Sydney, which I loved.  I was surprised I didn't receive any offers from Royal Caribbean although I receive lots of offers from cruise lines I haven't cruised with.  Maybe it was because it was a Charter, their first ship to Australia.

We have done 3 x charters on Royal, and they have recognised them as if they were their own.

Well that is not the reason then. Could it be that it hadn't "clocked on" in Australia yet.  We still had grits, lots of sweet pastries for breakfast, sweet teas, etc.
