MGK Posted December 18, 2014 #176 Share Posted December 18, 2014 I truly hope that RCI just look at all these suggestions. The total cruise days accumulated by all contributors of this thread must be in the hundreds of thousands. My dream ship? An endless pool An Ifly (best thing I have ever done) Sports bar Adults only Pools pools and more pools A swim up bar An eject button on deck chairs that automatically flush into the ocean when chairs are left with :&$@ on. DD that works Non smoking, or better ventilation (see Quantum's casino that was polluted within days of maiden) Cabins are generally good...sure a bit small but completely manageable. Just a wish list. I think the deck chair idea is awesome!
Champagne Cruiser Posted December 18, 2014 #177 Share Posted December 18, 2014 Love all the suggestions so far so here's my wish list First: Keep it upscale. I like RCL but I don't want to turn X into it. I cruise both for different reasons. NO neon anywhere NO slides, flow riders, juke ex, pool tables, etc. if you want these things cruise Royal or Carnival. Please, no "Dynamic Dining". If we want that we'll cruise Royal. Now for the positives: Wrap around promenade. It is a cruise ship after all. Let's bring back the simple pleasures. Thalassotherapy pool. This is a big minus on S class. A Piano Bar aka HAL where the player is really an entertainer. LOTS more shade seating around the pool. Clothes lines in the bathrooms aka M Class. More adult only areas. I like kids, too but let's not turn X into Royal. Less smoking areas. The smoking drifts in the pool area and the Sunset Bar. Many are inconvenienced for a few. I am not saying smoking should be banned, just better contained.
Chunky2219 Posted December 18, 2014 #178 Share Posted December 18, 2014 Hmmmm. Smaller ships, more bodies on board. What I'd like..... a rethink. Smaller ships, good. More pax, not so good. .
Rare hcat Posted December 18, 2014 #179 Share Posted December 18, 2014 Can't search on my tablet... .did Celeb say when the ships are expected to be ready and booking might open? ...not liking 2017 Carib offerings so hoping the new ships will bring some new ports...will they fit through the Canal? Champagne Cruiser Posted January 25, 2015 #181 Share Posted January 25, 2015 Although I will probably never cruise NCL, take a look at the new Breakaway with their Waterfront concept. It makes so much sense. Why not put the bars and eating areas in an inside/outside setup lined up along a promenade? We have always liked to have our predinner/post pool drink at the Sunset bar so we could take our sushi and drink outside. After all, you are on a cruise to experience the sea and outdoors. From the pictures it looks great.

Vagabondage Posted January 25, 2015 #185 Share Posted January 25, 2015 Wish list: -- Elevators at both ends as well as the middle -- Footstools on all verandas. A balcony without them is not worth the cost. -- A T Pool, or at the very least a heated indoor one in an adults-only solarium -- More comfortable adjustable loungers in the solarium -- Accessible cabins near elevators -- M-class closets (near door, more drawers) -- True nightstands with drawers (as on M-class) and nearby electrical/USB outlets -- Outlet in the bathroom -- iPod dock in the cabin -- Retractable clothesline in the bathroom -- More hooks on the cabin doors and/or walls -- Refrigerators that actually keep things cold! -- More careful overall attention to sound spillover -- No more loud entertainment in the atrium!!! Please design an appropriate venue instead. -- At least one venue for quiet music (piano, acoustic) -- No smoking areas anywhere near public spaces or cabins. One designated smoking lounge, period. -- A more clearly defined adults-only outdoor pool -- Rendezvous Lounge an all ships -- Adequate space for Select Dining 2-tops -- If there's a lawn, please ditch the cabanas. They spoil the view and no one likes them! -- If a self-service laundry isn't feasible, offer a reasonably priced pre-boarding purchase option. -- Reallocate Library space. We love libraries, but X's current ones are poor indeed. -- Nice spaces for the hardworking crew, who make X cruises truly special. Please keep: -- X's subtle, refined decor -- no gaudy, tacky stuff or neon please! -- Adults-only solarium -- Cafe al Bacio (even larger?) -- Sunset Bar -- Alcove-style connecting cabins -- Quality art in the public spaces (but please avoid ugly cabin art like the current S class) -- S-class bathrooms (good storage, shower doors) -- Sofas in the cabins -- much prefer one to chairs -- Relaxation room -- Dark verandas for stargazing -- Please continue favoring timeless sophistication over edginess. Things that would drive us away: -- Zip lines, water slides, rock walls and similar gimmicks, theme parks at sea -- Anything frenetic that smacks of Carnival ambience -- More garish art like that in the S-class cabins. It looks like a cheap motel. -- Even more space carved out for paid specialty dining. Please improve on/replace the concepts you have instead. (One should focus on local specialties, changing as the itineraries change.) Thanks for considering your customers!

PinotBlanc Posted January 25, 2015 #189 Share Posted January 25, 2015 (edited) Open back of MDR to the sea. Add more open sea views like M-Class. More lounges. T-Pool w/two levels. More cabin storage. Shower clothesline. Laundry rooms. Less crowded MDR. Wide unobstructed promenade. Larger Aqua Spa Café (add longer hours, tables and foods.) shoreham01 Posted January 25, 2015 #190 Share Posted January 25, 2015 We have only travelled on Eclipse so these are our observations. Washing line in bathroom needed Lower shelving than the stupid ones above bed in Eclipse. Ridiculous for short or infirm people. More storage space Larger bedside tables Separate rooms for bars. Too noisy in atrium. The shower/bathroom is perfect Change shows more often, we are sick of seeing same shows all the time. More elevators Piano Bar would be nice. Move dancing to Sky Lounger or similar. Atrium too noisy and busy. Shops that sell items you can actually afford to purchase. Either move reception to quiet area, or better still don't have noise levels so high in Atrium. Larger Cafe al Bacio Coffee card like Princess PLEASE DO NOT HAVE OUTDOOR MOVIES/ Movies under the Sun or Stars. We came to Celebrity from Princess because we could not stand the noise by the pool during the day and even on our balcony if you are unlucky. You have to be really careful not to have a state room anywhere near this area. One more thing we noticed last year. The food quality in MDR was not as good as the year before. Now this year the prices seem to have rocketed in the UK for a X Cruise, by around £800 pp from my research. We are now seriously thinking that the price is beyond our means. We are not drinkers so would prefer a dedicated coffee card to a drink package which would save on the basic price. We really love Celebrity and hope that we will be able to enjoy another wonderful holiday in her company.

dgparent Posted January 25, 2015 #193 Share Posted January 25, 2015 I would like to see at least 5 specialty restaurants with a good variation and have at least one of thm open for Breaky and lunch everyday. That way the ultimate dining package would be worth a look.
harz99 Posted January 25, 2015 #194 Share Posted January 25, 2015 I wish for a larger, newer M class design, but without all the squeezed in revenue generators that now afflict the original M class. kelmac Posted January 25, 2015 #195 Share Posted January 25, 2015 This would be my top five: #1 -- wrap around promenade deck (360º) #2 -- 100% non-smoking ship #3 -- high speed internet #4 -- Elite and Elite Plus Lounge (similar to Diamond Club on RCCL) #5 -- Add Cuba as a port as soon as possible Enjoy! Rare Texed Posted January 26, 2015 #196 Share Posted January 26, 2015 I would like to see: * Adjoining Alcove Doors - like on the S-Class Ships * Spacious & Bright Bathrooms - like on the S-Class Ships * Shower Doors - like on the S-Class Ships * Clothesline in the Bathroom * More Drawer Storage for the Cabin area * A bank of Closets - like on the M-Class Ships * Bigger Night Tables - like on the M-Class Ships * Balconies big enough so EVERYONE could get the Loungers & Footstools Cheers! Off Topic! What happened to Sloop John B? She, along with Larry, Cruisestitch, and a few other nice folks, always provided great answers, and researched a lot of topics for folks. I hope she comes back. :)
fleckle Posted January 26, 2015 #197 Share Posted January 26, 2015 (edited) Cabin storage of the M-class cabins with bathroom storage of the S-class bathrooms. Removable shower head and clothesline in shower for all cabin categories. A switch with volume control for turning announcements on or off in the cabin. (Or when you say we can hear announcements on channel 16, actually put them on channel 16.) Post calorie counts on food and drink menus. (OK, make it an option, some menus with, some without for those who do or don't want to see the calories.) A promenade deck with unobstructed sea views (even if it is like M-class and doesn't wrap all the way around) Eliminate smoking on the rear decks where people eat and drink. More space between tables in dining room -at least enough space for the waiters to walk between the tables. Use sound muffling materials in ceilings of all dining areas. Elevator banks and staircases for passenges at front, center and rear of ship. Quiet areas for guest relations and shore excursions where you can actually carry on a conversation without shouting. Limit at least one section of the theater to adults only and limit babies (if allowed at all) to a section near an exit where they can be removed quickly without disturbing others when they start crying or whimpering. The same for any adults who fall asleep during performances and start snoring. :D (At least you can poke an adult snorer to shut him up.) Please keep Celebrity ships as cruise ships, not amusement parks or shopping malls. For those who want an amusement park or shopping mall type cruise atmosphere, there are enough such ships already. Chazteach1 Posted January 26, 2015 #200 Share Posted January 26, 2015 More hooks on doors and walls - strangely, ESPECIALLY in suites and their closets where there are none. Electric and USB charging ports a both sides of bed on nightstand A/V connection panel for TV like Marriott Hotels use, lets you plug in any type of video device and automatically plays on TV. Also good for USB charging Electric outlet in bathroom Larger martini Bar with additional staff, in proximity to kitchen area for faster glass replenishment Solo cabins Color changing/controllable LED lighting in cabins, for mood lighting and dimming Heated mirrors Promenade deck Return of the Rondezvous lounge T pools shallow areas in pools as on m class ships where one could have a chair or sit and just splash, not be in the pool All cabins should have the vestibule adjoining door concept as on S class (but for Reflection) so all side-by-side cabins can adjoin if guests want More adjoining cabin options to suites, so suites can book standard adjoining cabin for 2nd bedroom Keurig type coffee makers in cabins, even if only suites or special cabins Place whirlpool in royal suites such that the veranda gates can still be opened Passenger accessible ice machines on each deck as in hotels Love the keurig coffee pot idea in a suite! Mini cart with goodie and treats along promenade, If showing a movie in the cinema- have popcorn! Bring back 2:00 sorbet by the pool on sea days! And a Gastrobar on every ship! Love it on EQ last summer! T pool on every ship Less art auction, more affordable shops.
