Real upgrades do exist!

Just got an email this evening with a new booking confirmation and as confused. Then I opened it and we had a different cabin number. Looked it up and it's a vista suite. We booked a lanai. So we called to confirm and sure enough, we got a free upgrade! And it's in a great location! Couldnt be happier with the change!

We were upgraded to one of these cabins a few years ago. Enjoyed it so much, it was hard to move back down the chain when selecting cabins for cruises after that one.

CONGRATS TO ALL THE ''UPGRADERS''

 

WE ALWAYS book very early at the FF guarantee rate and almost always get a pretty good upgrade about 10 days before the cruise when on regular cruise. We did get a super upgrade on the PRINSENDAM on a grand voyage a few years ago. We are happy campers, and very satisfied with this pattern.

 

Question is; Is this the normal thing from HAL ? We don't discuss specifics with others when on a cruise.? We do get "upsell " offers but they are not good deals and have never taken one.
