VIP on my Luggage Tags - what does it mean?

Recommended Posts

First RCI cruise, booked online for a inside cabin with a double double upgrade to balcony stateroom. Assigned deck 8 on Radiance and I have VIP printed on my Luggage Tags.

I've searched high and low and cannot find what this 'VIP' means. Thoughts?

Is VIP the terminal code for Vancouver? Aside from that, the line may see you as a real VIP, hence the upgrades. Are you by chance, a gamer?

Not sailing out of Vancouver.

The double upgrade was package that was offered for sale, hence the reason for booking it.

Well, you ARE a VIP then. Congratulations.

Let us know if they strew rose petals in your path when you arrive at the pier.

Just checked my tags for our Liberty cruise at the end of August.

My tag says......

RS. Regular Schlepper,

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

My favourite 2 posts of the day. Thanks for the smiles.

Have you called RCI to ask?

My dealings with RCI on the phone have given me the impression they don't know the difference between a plane and a cruise ship. From Australia I think we get redirected to the call centre in the Philippines.

Maybe that is it, I'm Australian, thus VIP. Maybe that should really read VVIP! ;)

Hi, I had the red VIP on our luggage tags for a Solstice cruise 2 years ago. The only unusual thing about that cruise was that we received a complimentary upgrade from an inside cabin to a Concierge Class cabin

In 2008 one entire side of my family (about 60 strong) went on a family reunion cruise on LOS. My uncle's credit card was used for the bookings and he also had a big red VIP on his bag tag. It didn't look exactly like yours though, the VIP was more prominent. There weren't really any tangible benefits. Have you booked for a large group?
