Cabana on Labidee

Hi All

 

 

I want to book a Cabana on Nellies, and RCC says I can only book on board.

 

 

When I get on board, is there a range, and are some better than others? It's for a Honeymoon, so I just want something peaceful and relaxing where we can get out of the sun, yet still enjoy the surroundings.

 

 

 

 

Just trying to plan in advance.

Get onboard early and book a cabana, depending on the ship they go fast. Everyone has their own preference but I really like the hillside cabanas. They are private and have direct access to the water.

I have to agree. We've been on the Oasis and Allure..both times we had a cabana on the "suite beach". We are the quiet types and we book a cabana for peace and relaxation. We probably won't book another overwater cabana, because it was anything but peaceful. Both times we had CLOSE..LOUD, cigar-smoking neighbors, with MULTIPLE buddies. Now, there's nothing wrong with that. They were having a good time and really enjoyed their cabanas. It just wasn't for us. Next time we will probably book a hillside cabana. They seemed very quiet and private. You could still see the water. Labadee is a great place with something for everyone. I wish RCCL would consider spa cabanas, that were adult only..for two people..and quiet.

That's the luck of the draw on your neighbors.

 

The cigar-smoking, loud, friend-laden cruisers could have had a hillside cabana. That had nothing to do with the cabana's location.

Spencer, when you board, you go to the excursions desk (which is called Explorations!) and request the cabana. The person booking you should have a map of the beach and will show you which ones are available. If you CAN get one, you are not likely to have your "pick of the litter".

 

Each location has its fans. Only you know if you want to be on the sand, on the hills, or over the water. (I have had over the water and on the hill, and if anyone in your group has mobility issues, hillside is NOT the way to go.)

We had a few in our day-mostly because we cruised with little ones and it provided nice shade. Another nice touch is they drive you to and from the cabana in a golf cart.

It includes a few floats and some drinks(non alcohol) in a cooler. You also have an attendant who is usually from the neighboring village. We have done missionary work in Haiti and love to talk with the locals. Labadee is probably the nicest place in all Haiti.

Price ranges in accordance to locality but I think I paid $250 for a beach cabana at Nellies.

I am sure someone will have more specific details.

I think it is money well spent for a great beach day.

I believe I contacted the Crown and Anchor Rep and they helped me out before I cruised.

For people who have booked on board, do they assign the cabanas when you book or do you still have to be first off the ship at Labadee to go get your choice of cabana?

Based on my one time experience about 90 days ago, I did rush onboard, I was one of the first 25-50 people on board, I went straight to Explorations (First one there) I asked for and got an over the water cabana at Nellies. I wasn't told which one, but found that out when I got there.

We had an overwater cabana at nellie's in june off oasis. Loved it! $250 inc 6 waters in cooler, float mats, etc. Only 4 of the beach cabanas i believe. We were given gold bands to use barefoot beach fancy buffet, where suite folks are. The beach and hillside cabanas at nellies are cheaper but dont inc barefoot buffet. As said, you need to rush onto ship early to get one. I heard they are building cabanas at dragon beach but they wont be as peaceful as nellies imo.

Those "things" at Adrenaline Beach aren't cabanas. They're giant curtained beds.

For our Oasis cruise in December, i can book a Nellies Beach Over the Water Cabana on my cruise planner for $320! They sure have gone up in price!:eek:

 

It says On Board Only, but i can add it to my cart and it brings me to the credit card info, i don't know if i want to pay that much though, last time we were there they were $225!!

Got a beach level cabana on Barefoot Beach -- think it was S7 -- near the lunch area and close to the exit for the bathrooms. 6 bottles of water. $175. Loved it -- location worked much better for me than over-water or hillside (have some foot problems too)

Barefoot Beach cabanas are cheaper than Nellies. We have had S3 and S4. Don't mind being further fro water

Last year,I had a cabana at Nellies....they let us go to Barefoot for lunch.....last week,we noticed ONLY Barefoot passengers got to eat there..............I think it should be that way......

We also enjoyed the loungers at barefoot beach.

 

Upon arrival our attendant got us three floaties, snorkel gear.

 

This year not as attentive on checking back on us, we had the drink package and only offered to get us a beverage once.

 

The attendants did escort some of the guest over from Nellies Cabanas to eat from the buffet, do not know how it was decided and do not know how many were notified, but they were escorted in from the side gate, by the tables.

 

We are too busy to enjoy a cabana, but those who rent them seem to love them (as shared here on CC).

We had a hillside on in March and we got the buffet at Bearfoot beach. They said that they were the only ones that get it now.

Is cabana price per person or per cabana?

 

I remember seeing someone saying multiple people can split the cost on another thread, so I was assuming it's per cabana.

 

However, when I check the website, it seems to be person. First of all, we can't select more than 2 guests (we have 3), and the price is person, so 640 for two, ouch!

 

Am I doing anything wrong?
