I don't think you can use it for deposit on next cruise.

Other than tha anything.

It is really no different to you paying money on your account at any time.

So

drinks

Drink packages

Gratuities

Specialty dinning

Shops

Art works

Spa

(Can't think of anything else we've spent money on).

Anything you want to purchase on board, except for a future cruise. There is nothing on board other than a deposit on a future cruise that you can pay cash or use a credit card for. It will all be charged to your ship board account, thus using up your ship board credit.

Thanks all for you input. We usually leave the pre-paid gratuities on our account, (and supplement the crew after our cruise), use a photo company for pictures, no spa, no casino. So, if there is a balance on the on-board credit, is it applied to our account? This was done on other cruises. Thanks again.

Whether or not it is applied back to your account depends on what kind of credit it is, and where it came from. Celebrity has two kinds of credit -

OBC-N, is non refundable (although you can withdraw it in cash from the casino for a 5% fee). OBC-R is refundable and if not spent will go back to your credit card. You can see what kind of credit you have on your SeaPass account (check the tv or go to Guest Relations for a printout). If you have both kinds, they will use up the non-refundable kind first.

OBC is always simply applied to your account. It is not separate.

Anything you buy is charged to your account, at some time (normally day two) OBC is applied, you then may have a credit balance, what you spend (with the exceptions mentioned earlier) come off that balance, your ac may look a bit like this:

Drinks Oackage.........$250.00............$250.00

OBC...."....................$300.00Cr.........$50.00 cr

restaurant.................$ 25.00.............$25.00 cr

Gratuities..................$25.90..............$ 0.90

Gratuities..................$25.90..............$26.80

The second numbers being the balance.

Hope that makes sense.

Not exactly. OBC is applied to your account but if your ceridt balance is OBC - N dollars than you do NOT get a refund - it is forfited.

OBC can either be refundable or if issued by Celebrity non-refundable - Spend it or lose it. Suggest having guest services print your statement on day 2 - after the line goes away - and see if any in OBC - N as Cruisestitch stated. Got to spend that someplace.

I didn't mention refunds.

The question was about what it could be used on and how did it show up on the account.

A couple cruises ago we ended up with about $100 OBC left on the last night. What to do, what to do??? I found a way to spend it really easily: I went into the shop that sells the nice bags and found a little something that came home with me. I wouldn't have bought it otherwise but it was no tax and the OBC would have gone away the next day so.... I'd never purchase fine jewelry on a ship but some of the bags are the same price at my local store and so it was really a no-brainer.

From your experience what can the On Board Credit be used for, Specialty Restaurants, Beverage Packages?? Thanks for your feedback, we're cruising on the Silhouette next March.

I see that you have a 'few' :D prior cruises under your belt.

Anything that you had used your sea pass card to charge to your cabin, as you have done before, will be covered by any OBC you have in your account.

Got enough OBC, you get a ZERO due at the end of your cruise.

I can always find SOMETHING to spend the OBC on. We prepay tips and have the bev pkg included. We have a ton of OBC on Silhouette in Dec.

Rarely book excursions off the ship but decided to book one as soon as I get on the ship to use some of the OBC. Could have gotten it for $40 less if I would do it off ship but then I would be spending MY money instead of FREE money. So will book as soon as I get on. If it is full, will think of something else.

Then we figured pictures will take a chunk. If there is anything left, will buy a couple bottles of booze to bring home or get my BIL some Cig that he will reimburse me for.

So always find something to use it up on. We don't ever buy bottles of wine, so never use it for that but enough other things to figure it out. I also get a coffee mug and shot glass from every new ship we go on so will get that also on Silhouette.
